I watched this video and ordered the Bed Head Small Talk, and let me tell you it works! I have super thin and flat hair, and oily. I used this the first time this morning and my hair doubled in volume. It didn't make it feel greasy nor weighed down. It'll be forever in my hair routine. Summer, I want to thank you and if possible give you a 10/10 for recommending Small Talk. Now, as viewers we have to do our research when things get mentioned, (I am pretty bad with that) but when you did this video something about the Small Talk stuck with me. I have Morrocan OIl products (like it) have Living Proof (like it) but the Small Talk intrigued me. I ordered it and used it this morning. I was blown out of the water with the results!! I LOVE IT!! I have some root mousse but I am not happy so I have to order some of your recommendations. (that will happen today.). Thank you and you helped me with my fine flat hair. Summer your videos are amazing. I have used them for home haircuts on family members and have not had a fail yet. I am wondering what your recommendations would be for those of us with fine, thin, SHORT hair. I wear a pixie and need lift on the top which is roughly 2 to 2 1/2 inches, the sides are buzzed very short. My question is 2 parts. 1. What product will give me the best lift/volume on top when blow drying? It always seems like too much if I use both a root lifter and a moose. 2. If I let my short hair dry naturally what is the best product to give it some lift and hold?

Thank you! You can use it if you have dandruff, I don't think it will necessarily get rid of your dandruff but it won't harm it. I do love the no 4 shampoo but it can be a little heavy for fine hair, so just be aware of that when using!

THIS VIDEO HAS SAVED MY LIFE!! I just got the tigi, a revlon root lifter, strong laca spray and volumizing powder. It was so difficult finding these products in my country but i found alternatives and THEY WORK SO GOOD! I am so happy, I have thin FINE straight hair in a bob cut and my hair has always look so flat and boring. With your tips I finally have cute volume!! i just have a question bc I cannot find this information on the TIGIS website: does the tigi small talk have heat protection? I'm afraid of damagging my hair as I have so little. Don't know if I should buy a heat protectant too. ALSO: is there anything to prevent frizz? I used a blow dryer and velcro rollers with tigi small talk and it gave me AMAZING volume BUT my hair on top was super frizzi (I have lots of broken short hairs that stand up). I tried using the lip balm trick to tame them but it made my hair look so greasy :( any tips?

Thanks for all the great info! What product would you use for taming stubborn frizz (around the face/where I part) on fine thin hair? I’ve tried hair oils and even some pomades, but the hair still sticks up in the direction it wants to… 😭
This sounds more like flyaways? Hairspray works best to keep them down. Both the hairsprays I mention in this video are great. If it is frizz, Brazilian Blowouts Ionic Bonding Spray is awesome!

Bed Head's Small Talk didn't work for me just too heavy. However Moroccan Oil Root volumizer mousse worked great! Am going to try their extra volumizer shampoo and conditioner.

Thanks for the sub! The Bed Head is to be used with heat. The Living Proof is for dry hair. I like AGs Dry Lift texture paste to added volume on dry hair.

It has been years since I've used any Bumble products.
This video is so informative and well put together, Summer. I was wondering do I always have to have damp hair when using a root lifter and mousse? I am wanting tofindmaximum volumizing products for my fine thin hair which is a mediu legnth but dont think I can commit to having damp hair each time. What do you think of this?
There a a few root lifters you can spray onto dry hair and then use, Color Wow makes one, but most volume products need to be applied to damp hair and then activated with heat to work best. In general, fine/thin hair needs heat to create volume, shape and try to fight gravity to not be flat. I have a few blow dry tutorials that should help you extend the life of your blow out, you certainly don't need to be reapplying the volume products or wetting your hair every day for styling.

This Thursday night I am wanting to wash and volumize my hair for my birthday the next day. Do volumizing shampoos cause the color I’ve put in my hair to come out quicker? I’ve heard that happens since volumizing products open the hair shaft.
I don't really feel they make one's color fade out faster. You definitely want to always use a color safe shampoo. If anything I just find volume products tend to dry our your hair, but not fade your color.

I haven't used that product in so long. Any of my clients who use it all have thicker more coarse hair, I would use it very lightly on your finer hair. I also did a Best Smoothing Products video if you want to check out that. Pravana Polish and Reunite is an all around awesome product for any hair type for smoothing, and I also really love Brazilian Blowouts Ionic Bonding Spray for finer hair types too!
I use it on my fine wavy hair and it makes my hair so soft and smooth :) a little product goes a long way.
Love Chi Silk Infusion. With fine hair it is best for mids and ends. Tiny pea sized rub hands together really well before applying. Yes alot may remain on hands but gently applying is a great feel and smells amazing..😍🧜♀️
Hi! I'm looking for a product that doesn't have all the nasty stuff in it. Is amika one of them since it's more expensive? I'm trying to avoid ingredients which are not good for the hair. Please help! Thank you
Amika out of these is probably the cleanest choice. Paraben, sulfate, phthalates. It's cruelty free and vegan as well.

Is it ok to use it every other day? Is it too damaging to the scalp?
Any volume product can be drying, I use one almost every time I style my hair though. As long as you are balancing it with a moisture mask it's usually fine. I LOVE the Olaplex No. 8!
Styling products for fine/thin hair
Are any of this useful if you don't use heat/blow dry your hair after?
Both oils, the dry volume blast is for dry hair. Small talk would probably be fine to not dry your hair. With most volume products I feel you don't really see the results without blow drying at least a little bit. I would recommend at least drying your roots some.

You can use any of these products on your hair type. I would definitely work in the Olaplex #7 and Pravana Split End Mender or Brazilian Blowouts Ionic Bonding Spray are both great for taming down frizz, without being to heavy!
I don't know what it is but Morrocan Oil has some ingredient in it that my scalp does not like.
Is it okay to use these products along with a dandruff treating treatment shampoo??? Or should i alternate days? Or should focus on one before the other?
I would focus on taking care of the dandruff first as volume products can often be drying and you don't want to add any extra stuff when trying to rid dandruff.

I feel like all volume products work better when you apply heat to them.

I would look into a nice scalp spray! Bondi Boost, Milkshake amzn.to/35tIbFk and Nioxin amzn.to/3iX8qr0 have some great choices. Milkshake is once a week and Bondi Boost and Nioxin you have to use daily. Those have always helped me! I would also get a root lifter for sure for extra height at your scalp. All the products I mentioned in that video are linked in the description!
Maybe you should check out no sulfates fast hair growth shampoo.

I was using copper and gold tones for everything. And used a peach colored mask at home. Yes, highlights throughout my hair.

The Olaplex 8 is a deep conditioning treatment, used in the shower.

Do you know of a fragrance free hair product that leaves a dry finish, adds volume but doesnt dry hair out.
I sadly do not. Kristin Ess has a fragrance free shampoo but it does not add volume.

Can we use the mousse on our roots?
Yes! But only use on roots if you are not using a root lifter. I feel like using both on your roots at same time gives to much of a product feel.

I bought this Marrocan oil mouse . This is just terrible! This product does not feel light it makes my hair dry crunchy and I just want to wash it off! Overhyped and overpriced I m going to return it. I bought it because You tube praised it so much. They get paid for it. Don't waste you money. It only gives this weird dry feeling and hardly any volume ! Rip off
