X-Men & The Fantastic Four are nowadays the most underrated families in the Marvel Universe. Marvel fans of this new generation don’t even know who the Fantastic Four are and who & how much more relatable the X-Men were. The only characters in the X-Men franchise that Marvel fans of this new generation know are Quicksilver & Deadpool. Though technically Quicksilver is an Avenger, so as his sister, Scarlett Witch, he & Scarlett Witch are Magneto’s children.

that's cuz they ruined the X-Men by going overboard with the whole anti-mutant hysteria thing. it's not even believable in a world full of spider-men and thors that mutants solely would be singled out for mass prejudice, just like it would make no sense in the current MCU.
@@DevillionaireI think it’s more so simply because Marvel as a whole put FF & X-Men on the back burner because of the Fox films.
@@Devillionaire Absolutely agree. In an isolated world where only mutants are super-powered that'd be totally logical, but not in the Marvel Universe. Never understood why they were singled out. Not sure about what caused their lesser popularity though.

I'm excited for Jonathan Hickman's Krakoa era in the comics.

When is this new animated show out?
I always loved how the show adapted storylines from the comics, this made the transition to reading the comics much easier. This is something that a lot of the comic book animated series failed to do. I hope that it will continue this trend. Many good stories have been written in the decades since the show ended.
By the time the show was animated, they had around 30 years of comics to work with so they could easily pick and choose which story arcs or which individual issues to cover. They did a great job too. I'd argue it's better in some cases.
Thing is though the first 30 years of X-Men were great. Not so much for the next 30 years following that.
I hope we get to see more of Psylocke. Plus, Deadpool was teased in the original series, but it was just Morph messing with Wolverine.

So glad they brought Larry Houston and The Lewalds back for the new show. Amazing talent and I have met all 3 of them and they are some of the nicest people around. So good to see them showcased here.
X-Men The Animated Series is the best animated show ever. Hope the upcoming one is as good as that!

*X-Men: The Animated Series* is one of My Most Favorite Marvel Animated Shows there is from my Childhood Years. Hope this one will do just as good as The Animated Series!

Yaay! Hope they’ll have Nightcrawler and Shadowcat in the main team! And Inferno, the Fall of the Mutants, Messiah Complex and Fatal Attractions will be adapted
Since they're bringing in Bishop to the main roster, I hope they also bring in Shard as well, even if it's just one episode or a cameo. She doesn't get enough love.

I still go back and watch X-Men & Spider-Man the Animated Series. Growing up with it as a kid was a lot of fun. Now that I'm older, I still have an appreciation for that show and the stories they told.
Rewatched the Spider-Man series last year and it tails off towards the end but there are some great storylines in there.
@bluecarpettiles I agree with you on that. Spider-Man, towards the end, got a little out of control.
I just wish the Spider-Man animated series took it's time instead of rushing the animation in the episodes. Drove me nuts.
This is the best thing to happen to Disney plus in a long time. Can't wait. The X-Men are the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.

Pryde Of The X-Men is underrated. The animation is great and aside from Wolverines weird Australian accent is pretty comics accurate. A great character lineup too.
💯 agree. The animation was better as well. They should have kept the same animation team for the 90's cartoon.
@@waltreal It's easier to animate a single pilot than an ongoing series. The animation in both the pilot and the main series are fine.
@@macuser7048 disagree. the main series looked terrible even for its time. the pilot was far far better drawn and voice-acted.
I loved Pryde of the X-Men. I didn't know it was animated by Toei though. That explains the animation quality.

Tighter the costumes, the better.
Yeah but pretty much every superhero or super heroine had those outfits. The 90s went crazy with it. lol But the costumes were bright and colorful that really popped on the pages and tv screen. They worked out great for action figures too. That's what I don't get with live action versions when they make everything look super dark. It kind of ruins it. Superheroes are supposed to be mostly kid friendly.
That's an excellent way to do cameos. I really appreciate that.

I’m excited for X-Man ‘97, they should do the same for Iron Man 96, Fantastic Four 96, Spider-Man 98, UltraForce 95, The Incredible Hulk 97 (and She Hulk), Silver Surfer 98, Spider-Man Unlimited 2001 and The Avengers United they stand 2000

My favorite X-Men animated series, 2nd being Wolverine & The X-Men. I even made sure to get the X-Men Adventures comic series.

@@macuser7048 Wasn't too bad. Didn't like that it was riding the movie coat tails, but it was interesting telling an X-Men story. The voice cast was excellent. I loved the last season, with Apocalypse, since he was voiced by David Kaye (using his Beast Machines Megatron voice). Scott McNeil as Logan, badass!!

"Jean!!!!" :) How I spent my mid-to-late 20s....Yes, FOXKids was the violent upstart--Batman: The Animated Series, X-Men: TAS, Spider-Man: TAS...Warner Brothers quickly developed KidsWB to take Batman back and add Superman, etc. The only rival to these two was the Disney syndicated package that had the extraordinary Gargoyles, its answer to Batman: TAS. By the time ABC debuted with the network-Saturday-morning, diet-cola-bad-aftertaste Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles, the party was over. X-Men: TAS set up the five-character rule that Bruce Timm used so well in the next decade. And Larry Houston, thanks for rescuing The Fantastic Four and Iron Man in the second seasons of their syndicated series.

I was definitely humming the theme song during this video.
IMMEDIATELY stopped watching to check if Mary Jane (Watson-Parker???) was actually in the ski lodge in the beginning of the Nightcrawler episode, and lo and behold she’s exactly at the 3-minute mark in a blink-and-you’ll-miss it pan-across-the-room moment!
Now I’m wondering what else I’ve missed or forgotten!
Looking forward to the NEW series and fans from way back rediscovering and unearthing things these legends snuck into the original series!!!

I've been looking forward to this so much. It would have been nice to see angel and Iceman join this team. xmen was one comic where I felt I fit in and every mutant was so different.

It was predicted that X-men '97 will premiere this fall on Disney + which is right around the corner. So where is the Trailer for this show? I'm sure it will be a new intro, why not release that as well? Get people excited and ready for the new episodes? Marvel Studios released photos for Deadpool 3 and millions of people are going nuts and can't wait to see the movie. Why haven't Marvel give fans something to look forward too with X-men '97.

I've heard good things regarding Beau DeMayo's attitude towards fan expectations and the treatment of source material. I really hope he nails this.
The animated series of X-Men and Spider-Man were what got me into Marvel Comics in the first place. And when I was little, while watching X-Men, I didn't see all that much 'difference' with the characters: such as Wolverine (my favorite character from the show) being Canadian, Jubilee being Asian-American, Beast with his blue fur, Storm being African-American, Cyclops with his visor who takes his position as leader too 'seriously', etc. I only saw these characters as being the same. That's what is special about the X-Men. In any case, I'll be looking forward to X-Men '97.

The funny thing is u can even b with people who look just like u n share the same experiences yet r nothing like u. I don't even feel like my own family is anything like me. I'm pretty much the black sheep. Growing up, I always felt so alone, even when surrounded by others. It wasn't until I started getting into anime, manga, comics, games, n animated shows, that I found my true people. TY for helping the kids like me have real role models we could look up to n show us that just because we may b different from everyone else n like things others don't we could all still get along n make this world a better place for everyone.
I'm excited for the new X-Men series. I grew up watching the original and then watching it AGAIN when they re-aired it on Fox Kids in 2000 to promote the new movie.
Plus, the Marvel Legends figures for this look AWESOME! ❌ 🧬

Loved the central theme as explained about the power of empathy. Looking forward to this cartoon. I wish they would also continue the Marvel Superheroes on TV from the 60s. Taking the rest of the classic Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk and Namor through their original stories adapted straight from the comic art by Kirby, Colan, Severin, Buscema and all the Marvel great talent of the comics like those early animation used to do.
What's next for x men live action is the real Question!
As an Animation enthusiast, I find this very interesting
I always wanted Shadowcat to make an appearance, even if it was just a quick background cameo. & I also always wanted to see Arcade in the cartoon, and more Toad.
Maybe we needed Spiderman animated series or ironman animated series like 90's era😅
X-Men were ALWAYS the best superheroes. They stood against intolerance and hate, something that is still all too familiar even today.

The Moon Knight tv show's best aspect was the social interactions, emotion, and dynamics. It's going to be exciting hero animations for specifically kids be given budget again thanks to new streaming platforms.
