Subscribed. Awesome rigs. Loving that space white with the upgrades. Subtle but nice aesthetic and performance upgrades. 2016 fx4 coyote here and 86 f250. Hoping to upgrade to something similar as the space white f150 soon. My 5.0 is racking up miles quick. About to turn over 150k. Still running strong though!
Pretty good deal for 68 I think especially with the choices you made. Paid about 70 for my Platty with a few dealer adds like spray in bed liner, tint, wheel liners, and door and handle guards. But I am still planning wheels/tires/lift at some point which will really start pulling away cost-wise. (Waiting for the supercharger on your V8.)
I'm very happy with the build so far. Now about that Supercharger......
@@BackroadDriver Yes Sir! Saw a video where someone added one to a 2021 V8. They did not mention how they dealt with the cylinders being disabled. But if they can do it I know you or one of your guys will figure that out.

If you have a super crew with the weather techs in the rear and have the factory flip up storage then you can order the weather techs for an extended cab and they will fit
I was thinking about trading in my 2017 F150 because they're offering me a good amount of $. However the new F150's have a dealer markup of around $12k. I think I'll wait it out.
If you are willing to look hard you can find a dealer that will sell at sticker or you could order one with an agreement to purchase at sticker.

I like the channel guys and the content. But I’m a Fordaholic and not ashamed to admit it. Have been since my 79 pace car. Maybe even earlier than that. I am glad to see the trucks playing together well. I dig the tire issue and I know it gets expensive. May I suggest a couple things, like running a set of wheels with street slicks and or a set of wheels with old tires to blow off. Just saying. Or maybe a little tugowar between bros with your trucks. Keep it up.

Great video guys! I'm looking at getting into a new Lariat F150, but going to wait until the 2022 model year. Letting Ford work out any kinks with the first year of this generation, as well as seeing how tunable these new Coyote V8 with cylinder deactivation and OTA updates are.

I was going to wait too. But used car prices are up 35% right now so I got way more than my old truck was worth in my opinion trading it in. So I got a new 2021 stx f150 for 47,000$ .

How much do you like the lockable fold flat storage under the rear seats? Would you recommend it?
Do you guys have the same offset on your wheels.. the set up on the wolf doesn’t look like the wheels stick out as far.
They are actually the same offset +12. The Atturo's are narrower in general and in size. The 21 F150 has a 1/2” wider trac per side as well. Look at some earlier videos of the Wolf. The Ridge grapplers look much wider on it than the Atturo's. All tires on the Wolf are just temporary anyway LOL!

I have a question if you can help me on this, what did Ford do to the 5.0L of 2021 that is different from the 2018 5.0L that is having a big problem with the oil consumption of earlier 5.0’s thanks.
Hey, love the truck. I can't figure out the traction control on my truck 21 powerboost, I turn the traction control off, and the advance trac off, but still get a traction control light flashing when I take off and it feels like something is still holding the truck back. Any ideas? Is this just the powerboost or all 21s. My 19 2.7 would spin the tires and this 3.5 powerboost with 570 torque won't spin em ?? 😒

You talk about how much you paid for the wheels & tires. Is that including a spare or just a set of 4?
The wheels were a set of 4 and the tires were for 4 tires plus TPMS sensors for the new wheels plus installation and lifetime balance and rotation. I prefer to keep my factory wheels and tires as they are and put them up until I decide to trade in my vehicle or otherwise.
When you put those new rim and tires on your truck does your tire pressure monitor still work?
Anybody know what wheels those were in the bed of his truck? Thinking of ordering a rcsb f150 and that's the style of wheel I've had in my head that I want. Graphite color though

What is your opinion of using a bed-shell vs a tonneau cover (advantages/disadvantages)? Your video is awesome!
If you live somewhere you're not worried about people stealing from you, a soft cover is way more convenient and will completely get out of the way when you need it too, but still protect everthing from the elements. If you need the protection of a hard cover to keep folks honest you better go that direction. It's a shame that you need to make that decision but it's one that needs to be made. I'm lucky enough to feel good about a soft top. I still wouldn't leave something valuable in the bed and my truck parked alone for days at a time.

Any problems with rust on rear differential?
My particular truck was clean. Space White is only produced at the Kansas City plant and based on all of the vehicles we have reviewed and done videos on, the trucks from Dearborn seem to be the rusty ones. That doesn't mean a truck from Kansas City couldn't be rusty as well though. I mentioned the rust issue to our viewers in this video. ruclips.net/video/j79QxJxSdgw/видео.html
I like my big antenna, the fact that it tells me to check up. It does get annoying because it hits on everything at every parking garage. Luckily I hate cities and am only there for auto and boat shows. It could be a little shorter though.

Find a good vinyl wrap shop. Sam had his 16 bumpers and door handles wrapped.

We make money elsewhere, but we don't have jobs per se. Maybe one day we'll make the video on that subject.

Hi Sam. I heard you on a video said that you've owned a 2015 F-150 3.5 ecoboost. So you change it for a 2021 V8. I'm in the market for a new F-150 and have a 2015 F-150 3.5 too. I have the idea to buy a V8. What i want to know is do you regret your choice of the new V8?. Do you lack power compare with the 3.5 eco?

Trying to come up with reasons to sell the diesel for another gasser. Cylinder deactivation makes me want to vomit.
If you get back in within a certain time it will ask you if you want to return to sport mode.

Yep, it asks if you want to stay in SM but reverts to standard after a few seconds.

so cool. How much off-roading are you doing, and what kind of trails/terrain....I've seen your Bronco videos, too, so I''m wondering how you compare the two in regards to how you see using them? I'm considering the new F-150 Tremor or 4 door Bronco, I'm not so interested in doing tracks like the Rubicon Trail, so that's why the Tremor is an option
We recently shot this little trail video. The Tremor would be plenty good enough and you would get a lot more function out of it. The Bronco is stupid to get right now. If you aren’t hardcore wheeling I would go Tremor.

@@BackroadDriver thanks for sharing your experience and the video…I’d say I’m interested in a truck that can do a lot more than the fire road I saw in your video, though, more like what you can see in many of the Johnson Valley bronco ride alongs (I live in CA)…I’m not really looking to do extreme rock crawling, but certainly much more than a smooth gravel/dirt trail. The Tremor has the locking differentials and trail-turn assist and some of the Raptor parts which seems like it could handle stuff…but I wonder about the F-150’s length & width in tighter trails-things like having to back out a one-lane trail, or maneuvering through a rock garden? I do have a Bronco reservation which likely will come early next year, and would get the Badlands Sasquatch so I have the capability if needed, and for trail safety reasons. I wonder why you said “its stupid”? Is that about cost or dealer issues or other reasons? Thanks for the reply.

Been watching a few of your videos and I'm also ordering a new F-150 in Oxford White in the Lariat. I noticed you said you paid about 5k under the dealer listing can you elaborate on that? I'm hoping I will get the 2022 then it will be a different payment option and I will get 4.5K knocked off but if not then it's 50k ish plus all the extras and I know you got several extras on this truck so just wanted to get more info if I could.

Hey Richard thanks for subscribing! I ordered my truck last October and took delivery in February. When I got my truck they were just dealing with getting production ramped up. There were no chip shortages at that time. I have a great relationship with our local Ford dealership and was able to buy the truck at invoice and take advantage of several rebate offers.
Exhaust is badas but I bet it drones terrible?
Sounds great and no drone. AWE is not one of the big name brands (for Ford guys) but they have a great exhaust.
@ 2:03 is your upper control arm nut loose?
Yep it definitely was. I I had a little bit of a clicking noise when at full turn. I've tightened it up since the video and all is good now. Thanks for watching Jonathan!

I got them at Discount Tire. They are a little harder to get these days and the price is a little higher than I paid for them. Prices are more expensive for everything these days though.

What gear pump did you guys use once the whipple was installed. My 2021 Roush F150 detonated after 4 days with the whipple ( thank God for warranties). I want to upgrade the pump but I can't find the video where you talk about which pump you used.

@@BackroadDriver sorry, meant the oil pump. I was pretty sure you swapped your oil pump gears for billet ones correct?...and thank you for replying!! Definitely appreciate it
21 and up f-150s don't need the oil pump gears and crank spocket upgraded. The oil pump is belt driven and is billet from the factory. I'm not sure if the crank sprocket upgrade for 2020 and below will fit on a 21. It's all different because of the belt driven oil pump. No one knows how this will hold up to more horsepower whenever aftermarket tuning for supercharged engines becomes available. The main reason the upgrades were needed on the pass trucks was when the tune allowed the engine to rev much higher. The base Whipple tune doesn't rev a whole lot higher than factory so it's really not an issue yet.
@@BackroadDriver Thank you! This info changes my plans. Right now my truck is in the shop as it blew cylinder 1 and 5 with only 600 miles on the whipple install. Looks like we lost all oil pressure instantly and that was the first code to register (at least that's what I'm being told so far, but we should have root cause here by tomorrow or the next day ). Since the motor will be out my plan "was" to swap to billet gears in the oil pump as I just wanted to shore up weak links if possible. Is there anything you would recommend doing in this case for a little extra insurance on keeping the motor together since we have to pull the motor ( outside of swapping anything in the long block ) .....side note, I don't watch many channels, but I definitely enjoy your guys content, keep it coming 💯💯
I don't know of anything you can do right now to upgrade the motor since custom tuning isn't available yet. You might do some looking around and see if the billet crank sprocket fits the newer motor but I don't think it does because of the belt driven oil pump. They both run off the snout and I don't think the design is the same as previous years. Good luck getting a new motor. I got lucky and Town & Country found the last one available in the country at the time. That was several months ago now so maybe there are more available. I blew cylinder 6 and 8 on my motor. Mine lasted 5,000 MI before it blew but the problem came from a coolant leak into the motor during install. The intercooler in the head unit was bad from whipple. We've got a video on that if you haven't seen it already.

That's funny. I just took a Whipple off my truck and installed injectors last week. I can do anything it want. I can also afford to pay someone to do things as well. Your opinion seems to be based on one video. You should watch more of our videos before forming an opinion. You might learn a thing or two.
