- How to rebuild the top end on a YAMAHA TTR 125L (same for most all models of the YAMAHA TTR 125). Step by step instructions start to finish. Includes brief instructions by @doinityourself on how to change the air filter, how to set the timing, and how to check the gaps tye valves. Disclaimer: I am not a professional, so if you choose to do this on your own, it is at your sole discretion. You will be responsible for any damag that may be caused to your item. As always, use proper PPE when doing any work of this sort.

I noticed in the video you mentioned the arrow on the piston facing the intake side of the bike. It is actually facing the exhaust side of the bike pointing towards the front tire. Not sure how much of a difference it makes but everywhere I’ve read that’s what is stated. Good video tho!

So is it supposed to face Intake or exaust?

@@Doinityourself and are valve spects In the video correct? I got a ttr 125 L with 0 compression and imma rebuild the top and and check valves
@mikeplays1163 Intake .003 - .005. Exhaust .004 - .005. I read the wrong gauge in the video because I wasn't planning on doing a valve video. I need to edit that portion. Thank you for watching!
Check your ring end gaps. Specially on those cheap cylinder kits

Typically I get most everything from partzilla.com, however I saw the reviews and they were excellent with this kit. So I ended up getting it. So far so good. Valves, valve seals, valve springs, valve cotter pins, rockers, then the cam last.
@@Doinityourself the rockers will not go in to position.
@@Doinityourself ok got the rockers into position but now it’s gonna be hell to get that cam in!
@jamaljackson9879 As you put it in, keep turning it. It should go in fairly easily.

I am posting one now, it isn't the best video but it should help. I will update and edit it very the next couple of days. I wanted to get something out to you quickly for the time being though.
After 5 months how is it holding up?
Runs like a champ. No smoke and gets up and moves. Starts usually forst kick if not the 2nd every time
