Well, thanks to your video, I just got my new carb in the mail yesterday and installed it. My bike is a Suzuki DRZ125L and the carb it had was pathetic, just a puny little 20mm and it had that same diaphragm thing. I could tell the bike wanted to run, but the carb wouldn't let it. I couldn't find a 24mm that would fit my Suzuki, so I got the Mikuni 26mm instead. It was already jetted, so I just installed it and tried it out. Oh man what a difference. It's amazing the difference a carb can make, this thing really rips now! I did remove the airbox snorkel too.

It will attach to the slide pretty much the same way that the oem carb slide attaches. Once you remove the cap and spring its slides out and it has a recess and grove it will fit into.
All Good info except this carb has an air screw. If the adjustment screw is above the float bowl its an air screw. if its on the btm of the bowl its a fuel screw.
@@JBAutomotive794 no it doesn't, regardless if this was a 2stroke carb to start with, the function does not change when its on a 4 stroke. It is an air screw. You open it to add more air. @amfk8079 literally all it does is effect how much air is routed to the emulsion tube for the idle circuit. It controls the idle mixture, and nothing else. Regardless if it's an air or fuel screw, it adjusts the mixture at idle.

This carb looks different than the one in the description.
Fixed it, they changed the link on me
What main jet and pilot jet please?
Unfortunately this motorcycle was stolen from me and I don't have that carb or information anymore. I'm looking to get another TTR soon, it was a super fun pit bike.
Thank you!!!
...and - of course the source for the clone VM jets, especially the pilot jet, as this often on the clones is an "no-no" item to source.
How did you attach the throttle cable to the slider
It will attach to the slide pretty much the same way that the oem carb slide attaches. Once you remove the cap and spring its slides out and it has a recess and grove it will fit into.
Does it come with the vacuum plug
it does not. they can be purchased at any parts store.
Thanks
No links for aftermarket pre jetted carb

Hi, would this carb work on a 2016 TTR-125?
I beleive it should work great. Some later bikes use a dual throttle cable setup, so you may have to modify the cable hookup
Any advice on how to modify , since mine does have the dual throttle cable set up? Thanks
very good video! Make more!
Will it work for 2007 model ?
Yes definitely.
Would it fit a drz 125
Where can I buy a vm24 carb?
Check the link in the description, Amazon has them for an affordable price.
I have a 2009 ttr and I don’t think this carb can fit on this year model.
I need to know bc I’m ordering one soon mine is cracked lol
I beleive it will fit just fine
James Bradley Yea I just have to change the throttle cables out because they’re different on 2009 and newer ttrs.
All Good info except this carb has an air screw. If the adjustment screw is above the float bowl its an air screw. if its on the btm of the bowl its a fuel screw.
@amfk8079 in this application it performs the same as a fuel screw would
@@JBAutomotive794 no it doesn't, regardless if this was a 2stroke carb to start with, the function does not change when its on a 4 stroke. It is an air screw. You open it to add more air. Take a look at where the passage are routed in the carb. The carb does not know if its on a 2 or 4 stroke.
All mikuni VM round slide carbs have air screws as well as there flat side TM counterpart. They have an air screw as
@amfk8079 literally all it does is effect how much air is routed to the emulsion tube for the idle circuit. It controls the idle mixture, and nothing else. Regardless if it's an air or fuel screw, it adjusts the mixture at idle.
@@JBAutomotive794 Right so by your own definition an air screw.
A fuel screw would add fuel to the circuit. similar but not the same when tuning.
A fuel screw ADDS fuel. means the resulting change is opposite to an air screw. Just pretty easy to get confused much the same way people think pre mix ratio has to do with how lean or rich there 2 strokes are running
Will this work on a 2019?
I haven't installed it on one that new before. Cannot confirm nor deny
Mikuni vm24 is 28mm??
24mm
Is there any benefit to getting a genuine VM 24? Or is the knockoff just as good?
Knock off carbs never work I’ve had great luck with genuine Mikuni carbs tho.
You can get proper jetting kits for a genuine mikuni whereas the knockoffs are sketchy at best.
You'll just hear mixed opinions
I have a van 24 on mine and in 1st and 2nd when I give it gas he keeps getting little spurts of gas and then nothing until I get all the way on it
May want to adjust the needle position and also make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks.
My TTR back fires
picked up a 2006 TTR125 L with this carb. It ran like crap. PO had a hose connected to the port you suggested to cap off. So I plugged it. What a difference! Also noticed better throttle response. Now, just need to verify the air / fuel screw for that sweet spot. Seems pretty close though. Thanks for posting this vid!!!
Don’t.
Buy.
Clones.
Buy a Fucking Mikuni.
