Coop, I never told you this but I made this weekly when I went to New York as a nurse to work the pandemic in April and May. It was a harrowing experience but having some comfort food made it better. Now that I’m back in Alabama I use my Connecuh sausage when I make this! 💕 My absolute favorite beans and rice recipe that I will make forever 💕

I had to come to RUclips to see if anyone made great northern beans and rice like my grandma did when I was growing up. We used a country pork sausage but otherwise it’s very similar to this and we always served it over rice. One of my favorite comfort foods from my childhood. Thanks for posting this!
