    I have to change the deploy motor and mother board..Can you please show me how you got the casing removed from the shaft so I am able to work on the units motor??

    Wouldnt adding another shim/washer to that shaft before you fitted the E-clip lessen that endfloat even more? That or fit a piece of teflon/nylon to the top lid so the gear can run against it to eliminate the shaft riding upwards once the drive belt is installed.

    • @Aucklandsaltwaterflyfishing
      @Aucklandsaltwaterflyfishing  Год назад +1

      Hi No adding the other shim would not solve the problem as the end of the shaft itself where the c clip goes actually wears out to were it is just thin metal and eventually will break all together. I looked at all ways to solve including machining down the shaft for a new c clip shaft further down to take up the play. The easiest way is just to buy a new part.

    • @matui6983
      @matui6983 Год назад

      Right. That shaft must be made of extremely soft material to wear out an E-clip groove to that extent. At least the replacement bits arnt too expensive. Could always get the groove built up and re-machined too.

      @@matui6983 yeah mine was good for about 1.5 years but I used it a lot. It definitely could be improved under manufacture.

      I added a 5/16th stainless washer on to the shaft between the original shim and the C clip.
      I replaced the C clip with a new one as the original clip was worn. The new C clip is a different design which grips the shaft and will not spin.
      There is now no play up or down on the shaft. All greased up with silicone grease the shaft is super smooth.
      I add that I could not have figured this fix out without this amazing video. Thanks so much. 👍🏻🇨🇦

    Great video. Thanks for taking the time to make and post.
    I recently opened my trim unit due to water leak - cleaned & lubed it then reassembled and put it back on the boat. Now it won’t deploy. Gives a motor error and beeping sound when “deploy” is pressed twice on the i-Pilot remote. Just wondering if you experienced this problem and if so might you have any suggestions.

      thx m8, try this presuming you reassembled everything correctly when a trim module is replaced it needs to be paired to the main circuit board. To do that turn the power on the base off. Then power on, but continue to hold the power button. After about 10 seconds the green light should start flashing indicating the trim module is paired. Once that is shown cycle power to the motor again and attempt deploy. Also have a look here as I go through that in this vid ruclips.net/video/WRwj9g9Tkok/видео.html

    Hey mate , i pulled my cover on the trim motor and had the black dust but no rubbing on the lid.
    I rang minnkota Australia and they said i should try swapping the motor orientation around so the prop faces the opposite way when seated.
    That actually did help and the motor deploys easy now, i feel this could help temporarily and its inevitable that i will to change the parts you described.
    Im curious if you're motor failed at 1,5 years that it would of been fixed by warranty?
    Appreciate your videos.

      I never bothered with warranty as NZ is backwards, it was quicker just to order new modules of ebay. I also replaced the steering module.

    our minnkota ulterra 112lbs is stuck upside down with the motor inside the ramp (not on the ramp) on full stow with the fan facing up (vertical position), we tried to pushed the motor so that it can be unstuck but seems it is locked, we tried to pull the silver lever so that we can pull the housing trim unit and push the whole motor out but it does NOT move , need help - thanks

    • @Aucklandsaltwaterflyfishing
      @Aucklandsaltwaterflyfishing  29 дней назад

      Have you tired disconnecting the belt as well?, the silver lever is just for tilt not for longitudinal movement, it must just be jammed up in the cradle and needs some force to release it. once you get it out you will also need to do a trim reset. It will be easiest to disconnect the belt at the prop end but I would loosen it off at the top end first with the allen key

      @@Aucklandsaltwaterflyfishing still the same issue we can't move anything the post, the lever but the housing trim unit is not moving we CAN'T push the motor out of the holder so that we can move it - it is still in vertical position and every time we bring this to the boat shop it always cost us money - I did tried to attached a pictures here but no option to attached it - do you have any info to un-jammed it in the cradle disconnect the belt at the prop end to loosen it off? thanks

      hi There I don't think you can order it sperate, it would likely have to come from a reconditioned unit. I think I got lucky. if you are wanting to replace the shaft that the clip goes on to there are some options like getting a new groove milled in to it further up and using a thinner washer.
