    I had my very first live stream last Friday and it was a train wreck at first, disconnected, lag, buffer, I mean you name it, it happened. BUT! After I got it all fixed, everything ran smoothly(not the highest quality due to a poop computer ha!) and we gained 150 new subscribers, 8 new members, and a total of 250 people in the stream and so much support from my viewers! I want to thank you and give credit to where credit is due because I knew NOTHING until I came across your channel. I always say at the end of all my videos, ‘ success isn’t just about what you accomplish in your life, it’s about what you can inspire others to do in theirs’. You’ve inspired me. Again, thank you 🙏🏽❤️

    Important to note: The CPU usage on OBS stats is only pertaining to the usage of OBS itself. This doesnt show the total load on your CPU. Task manager will give you a better look at that. I've heard far too many people misinterpret that information thinking they still had plenty of CPU overhead when in actuality they were running at around 90% total load.

      So using OBS , would it make a difference between using overlays from a browser or saved on your computer ? Which is better ?

    • @TenaciousLeeTV
      @TenaciousLeeTV 2 года назад +4

      @@Gpa4-1966 I think it ultimately depends but you have to keep in mind that browser sources are using resources as well. I would imagine it would be better to have them local as opposed to loading more data over the network to produce the image. But again, that's just a guess. I only use browser sources for my chat overlay and alerts, anymore. If I could still use Mix It Up bot now that I'm on youtube I wouldnt even use a browser source for alerts because the bot can handle all of that.
      I think another factor I always considered was the fact that anything you use on your stream from a browser source is reliant on a third party to be operational. I'd rather cut out as many middle-men as possible and run as much of my stream as possible locally.

    I might have a different problem. My AUDIO is delayed:
    … in order for me to use OBS as a virtual Microphone, I use the VB-Cable plugin. (And that feature that captures the computer audio). When I’ll start a stream with OBS VIRTUAL CAMERA and VB CABLE, the video comes correctly but the audio only comes a second later.
    …. If I just use the microphone as audio source, the audio comes half a sec before the camera:
    ….
    That happens on Zoom and Streamyard.

    Hey Michael, this just fixed a huge problem for me, so thanks again for the information. My finished product looks great, and the quality adjustments that I made are only noticeable to a VERY skeptical eye during limited areas/portions of my videos. I have a question concerning running multiple media sources at the same time. I'm using 4 or more media sources in my videos that are individual portions of a recorded zoom meeting. Typically, at some point throughout the initial zoom recording someone will either drop out for just a second, or the meeting members will switch places which requires the re-adjustment and placement of their windows behind my video template. I have all of the media sources grouped together for simplicity, but I can't find a way to "universally" control the playback as a group. If I could pause, or play all of the media sources in unison I believe that it would significantly improve the quality of my editing when I'm trying to re-arrange everything "mid recording". I would appreciate your input on this problem, and thanks again for your guidance sir!

    My issue would be that my games always seem to have at least a little lag when I stream. How much lag seems to vary depending on how much the most recent Windows update screwed things up. One time it made _DOOM 2016_ completely unplayable, and I kept adjusting things until it was somewhat workable, yet it would be ideal to have a more complete solution here.

    Hello. I have a question. I recently did a Raid-0 on my computer with two WD-Black SSDs, and now it seems like my CPU usage is higher than usual and I am getting the "Frames missed due to rendering lag" in the orange or sometimes red. Could the Raid be the cause? Or is could it be something else? I've followed all these suggestions in this video, and I'm still getting a higher than usual CPU usage percentage (39%) and I am not dropping as many frames dude to rendering lag, but it's still something that I would like to fix (if possible). Please help.

    I have been doing most of my streaming with obs and an el gato hd60 on my laptop, which doesn't exactly have the best specs. It tends to get the job done though, and i usually only deal with lag and frame drop issues when something outside of OBS starts eating up cpu. OBS usually does a pretty good job of working with 15-20% of my cpu usage.

    You hear so many singing the praises of NVENC and it is a good product. However, the AMD encoder is solid as well. Especially if your CPU is under 6 cores. Where the AMD encoder shines is at higher bit rates. It actually has more detail that the NVENC encoder when you get over 15000 Kbs. This has been demonstrated on other channels quite extensively. I stream at 1440 on RUclips using the AMD encoder with a bitrate of 51000 Kbs and the quality is spot on.

    Latency is often confused with lag, and while they don't mean the same thing, the two have a cause-and-effect relationship. Lag is the delay in arrival of a packet from its source to the destination. ... So, if you have high latency rates then you will experience lag.

    • @HKFromAbove
      @HKFromAbove 2 года назад +1

      So if you have latency you will end up with lag. Network lag ie the delay between the OBS and RUclips can't be fixed. But if your audio is out of sync a simple tweak in 'Advanced Audio' will work well. But your other tips will help.

    • @MichaelFeyrerJr
      @MichaelFeyrerJr  2 года назад +1

      The advanced audio tweaking can help if the lag is consistent. A lot of people complain that everything starts out in synch and over time gets more and more out. This is more common than a consistent lag. This is generally related to the usb bus not keeping up over time.
