Oh, Gini! I never would’ve finished this one! I think I would have seen the tucks on the pattern and give. Up!! Your finished piece is beautiful! Congratulations and thank you for sharing your creative process!
What particularly delights me is the floral pattern, how it's compressed into the pleated section and then released at the bottom. I never would have thought of using a floral in this way but it's really attractive. I admire your perseverance and finishing this despite the challenges. You're definitely a role model for me :)
WOW!!!!! It turned out beautifully! The fabric 💗the pleats💗the binding💗and I totally know what you mean about stitching in the ditch on tiny bias areas. Never works. Great job on the hand stitching. LOVE this!!!
Hi Gini, I’m so glad you appreciate my suggestion😊 and I applaud you for tackling this design. I will never make anything like this, but it was good to see your process and the finished result is beautiful.
So so good!! Love the finished top, Gini! Worth the pain of all those pleats on a slippy fabric. So glad you persevered. Have a great little break with your beloved! xx
The top turned out so sweet! I love the print you chose. I have always liked pleated fronts and backs. Looks like a lot of work went into this... I LOVE IT!!!💚💛🤎
OMG! Love, LOVE! how it turned and the floral silk fabric suits that pattern so well. Have a great break! I love the Japants I made with your tutorial!
thanks red, It always makes me so happy whenever one of you makes something w one of my tutorials and ends up liking the finished garment as much as I do!🤗
Beautiful! I love the print; the tucks are beautifully made. I know how hard it is to place in huge numbers of tucks. The button is a perfect choice and I noticed your necklace had the green too😊 I’m not familiar with the pants, so I’ll look those up. Enjoy your break❤️
8 pounds of buttons, you lucky shit! I just finished a long shirt dress and I need about 10 buttons I went over to Jo-Ann's and they almost had to revive me when I saw how much a card of buttons is. I do have a lot of buttons and I'm going to have to start planning what I make based on the buttons that I already have. YOUR dress turned out great that's a really good use for a light fabric because I usually wear a camisole under everything anyway I may have to find that one.
If you could order some more of the side panel fabric and make a pair of matching slacks I think the outfit would have a very oriental flavor. The jacket was too dark for my taste. The whiteish background color of the front panels would be a great colorr for a jacket. You have made a georgeous top that deserves to be seen in absolute perfection.
In retrospect I think you are right about the jacket being too dark for this top. Thanks for pointing it out. As it happens I HAVE another piece of this side panel fabric that just might be enough to make a pr of pants. I'm going to see if I can make it work, that's such a fab idea!!
Hi Gini! I found your video searching for a video on this dress! The pdf file does have layers for the sizes and it's mentioned in the instructions that you need to choose the size before printing because of the chaos of the pleats. Cheers!
Oh I love how that dress turned out and love it with the pants. Now that you have those pleats nailed down I would like for you to make me one for Christmas, but I am plus size so that would be hmmm 453,867 pleats can do by Christmas?
@@thebigsewalong well of course and something really sheer and extra slippery come on I have faith in your patience and sewing skills. Oh and you would be so proud of me I actually made a pair of drop crotch dungarees, well I confess I didn’t intentionally make them drop crotch I was trying a new technique for raising the waist and thought why not try to raise it 2” instead of 1” sigh but they are kinda cute in an odd way
Thank you, Gini! Super cute make! I love my Japants and wear them often!
😃Yay! I'm so glad you like your Japan's!!
Beautifully done tunic!!! A lot of effort !!!
thanks Karol!
