    What do you think about my choice for this departure? It is definitely not the standard follow-the-LNAV departure and I thought it would be interesting for many add these details about FIX page usage and heading legs. Do you like it? Or would you prefer my next tutorials to be based on a "standard" SID again?

    Thank you for this fantastic tutorial series. One thing is baffling me though... About 6:45 you say that the 1/5 in the top right corner of the FMC indicates a route 1 out of 5 but I've always thought that's just a page / number of pages. If you press Next Page while on that screen you get to the list of airways and waypoints of the imported route and the number increases to 2/5, and so on, but it's still the same route 1.

    I simply usually specify the extra fuel right in the simbrief in order to calculate proper fuel consumption (extra fuel means extra weight and extra consumption, right?) and account for the maximum takeoff / landing weights together with the payload. If you just add something which is not in the OFP, it's going to be less accurate, isn't it?

    Hello! Very interesting video, it is the first time i've seen the 777 is unable to have a speed restriction without an altitude restriction, and also that it can only have full speed restrictions, but not above or below ones, but why is it like that? It is weird that the 737 which is considered in many aspects an outdated aircraft has a more modern fmc than the 777.

  • @DarrianCZE_YT

    Hi Emano! Nice work, but I take serious issue with how you show the departure and arrival runways, and transitions, and since this is a tutorial, which many newcomers to the flight simulation will come, I don't think it should be explained this way.
    1) Simbrief is HORRIBLE with choosing the departure and arrival runway, often totally ignoring any local procedures or standards. Therefore it shouldn't be used to determine which runway should be used. Yes, in this case it more or less looks right, but there are many cases where this is definitely not the case.
    2) Determining the transition based on OFP or FMC Legs page. Again, there are cases where this would be fine, but there are cases where it's not. I don't have to go further than my home airport - Prague. At the end of most of the STARs, there is an instruction to follow certain heading, despite a published approach procedure being present from the last point of the STAR. Therefore the procedure would be present in the Transitions, and it would lead pilots to believe they can simply use it. However, that procedure is available only on request / ATC requirement, but not by default. Therefore, it should be stated here, that charts should always be carefully studied.
    I completely understand that this is a topic for an entire video, but it should at least be mentioned, and I (personally!) don't think it's a best practice to show it like this, without (at the very least) mentioning it.

  • @Danimalpm1

    I’m curious why the 777 FMC won’t allow for a speed restriction without an altitude restriction. I’m going to assume there’s a good reason for it and it’s not just a less intelligent cousin of the 737. Does it have to do with the FBW / trim logic or something else you haven’t covered yet? Great work on these videos, I would never figure this all out on my own.

    The flight No. at 6:20... On the first line of your OFP, it says BAW0174. What is that though? Could that be the reason why the flight No. is incorrect?

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  6 месяцев назад +3

      Yes, that is the reason. It's a bug in the plane right now, but in real life this check needs to be done as well so I used it as a nice example without going too far into why it was wrong in first place.
      They're working on correcting that.

    Hey Emanuel, first time commenter but long time watcher/learner. Great video as usual with a lot of the highest information shared. I still have the PMDG 777 & 737 for FSX which is the reason why I was a late coming to MSFS 2020.Currently, I have the 737-600 & 800 for MSFS and have no issues updating on those, which leads me to my question regarding the 777 AIRAC. From 2:30 to 2:45, you briefly cover the update being out of date because it was "Pre-Release". Can we expect that temporarily? I've tried a few time to update the AIRAC as I do with the 737-600 & 800 through Navigraph Hub and was unsuccessful. Just wondering if that maybe a issue for now.
