OATMEAL BANANA Bread

  • Oatmeal Banana Bread is a deliciously moist and hearty twist on the classic banana bread, combining the wholesome texture of oats with the sweetness of ripe bananas. The oats add a subtle chewiness, while the bananas provide natural sweetness and moisture, creating a soft, tender crumb. The bread has a slight nuttiness from the oats, which pairs perfectly with warm cinnamon and vanilla flavours. Adding yoghurt keeps it extra moist, and optional ingredients like walnuts or chocolate chips can add a delightful crunch or richness. This bread is perfect for breakfast, a snack, or even dessert!

    I actually make banana bread all the time,but never with oats,which I will try this time,I have 4 extremely ripe bananas in the fridge right now,think this with a corn chowder will be this afternoons job.I like raisins,and walnuts in mine,I bake it in a 8x8 aluminum pan in my toaster oven,which has a convection setting,I feel there is no need to turn on my gas stove.I usually have one or two over ripe bananas as I only eat bananas with a lot of brown spots on them,so before I can finish the bunch some are too ripe,so I freeze those till I get 4 then I make the bread.😊

    Will be great with tomorrow's morning coffee. Here in Western Canada hemp seeds are available in the fall season and considered very healthy. I know we grow walnuts and hazelnuts and apples are plentiful in orchards nearby. To eat more regionally I plan to use the oat loaf as a base for Canadian centered produce. Okay I will also use bananas when I score a bunch of ripe and discounted price fruit. I appreciate recipes that inspire substitutions and happenstance. Even oats can be sourced from local flour mills that range in size from small batch artisanal mills to province wide gold standard mills. We do not lack options and are very fortunate.

    As much as I like watching your videos, you do know that "and then with our [ingredient]" isnt an actual measurement to tell us exactly how much you're putting in the bowls right?
    I've no idea how much flower you used, no clue how much butter, or any idea how mich cinnamon, salt and yogurt you used.
    Theres nothing in the video that tells me how much or how little of anything was used to make this.

    • @BackyardChef

    Same mix can also be used in a well oiled frying pan, and make banana fritters. Tablespoon in pan, press flat, and cook till golden brown, then flip over and other side till the same. But needs at least a dozen bananas in the mix, not a measly 3......

    • @BackyardChef
      @BackyardChef  4 дня назад +1

      Why make a disparaging comment about bananas nothing measly - 3 are only required for this loaf. Not 12

      @@BackyardChef When I was growing up we had lots of bananas, so the recipe tended to get a lot of them added, seeing as the most we had hanging and ripe was around 6 bunches all at the same time. Bananas with every meal, and lots with school lunch as well.
