When the arms fell off at 07:33 it's actually because they weren't connected all the way. You can see it in the previous 30 seconds. The gray elbow pieces aren't supposed to be visible like that. Look at the official set images
Yeah I think you can actually see the bare axle not fully pushed into the connector right before. I wonder if his rush to upload might cause him to rush the build process a little too much. Maybe with being kicked out of LAN and everything he should stop worrying as much about being the first reviewer and lean fully into taking his time to be the most thorough and honest reviewer? Idk, but most people buying the set will be taking their time on the build, and a fun build process is a big part of how much a set is worth to me personally, so I'd love to see him going back to mentioning that.
Thats cause he accidentaly wriggled them out as he articulated the arms.
I really like that he is slightly sunk into the sand, makes Threepio seem to have actual weight

I was initially opposed to buying this set but honestly this set looks amazing! You get the best C-3PO minifigure of all time and the build is so well put together and $140 dollars isn't bad for what your getting.

I don’t mind that the ucs C-3PO is in this set because it’s another premium display set literally about C-3PO. However he doesn’t belong in cheaper sets like people are clamoring for because he is meant to provide some exclusivity value for the people who buy it. Not to resell or anything but just to own something cool and exclusive that they paid a premium for.
Exclusitivity value for children’s toys is stupid no matter how you look at it
@WingmanandRomeo 18+ is specifically marketed towards adults, its not a toy.
@@WingmanandRomeo this children’s toy you speak of costs $140 and this toy should come with something cool and exclusive for the price. Children playing with lego won’t care if their c-3po has a dual molded leg or not and I can promise you that.
Personally i like the mix of different gold colors, it gives him a nice old and weathered look. Not to mention that he would likely have dozens of replacement parts after his long "life", which likely would have a different color aswell.
What really bothers me is lego refusing to recolor the joint pieces for some reason
The only positive note about this set is that it’s face isn’t has horrifying as chewbacca’s 😂
I find it funny how R2 has Tatooine box art but no base and 3PO gets no box art but the base. That being said this set grows on me with every review I watch. Seeing him with R2 is just perfection 👏
Considering the limitations of Lego , they are bringing out new pieces in colors not available making sets like this possible from an accuracy stand point . This set is real nice and i will be getting it as a result of this video , I like your reviews but my Visa not so much , lol .
The only two things I don't like about this build (besides the stickers) are the eyes (as usual) and the bloody silver leg.
I just wished LEGO would STOP making his leg silver. It was never silver in the films. His right leg was brass, not silver. So for this to be accurate LEGO should have either used their drum lacquered gold (which I know they wouldn't 'cause it'd cost them) or just use tan.

he looks really like a cool build
I don’t think the eyes are “creepy” but they are a bit off imo. Maybe it’s the type of gold they used on the dishes. Maybe they could’ve inset the dishes by one stud so they weren’t so protruding. But that is my only criticism with this set. I waited to build R2 until I had both of them so I could build them back to back and I’m so glad I did. I love them both standing next to each other. ❤
Gorgeous set, but you're so right about the head being too many different colors.. that "cheddar" color is throwing me off lolol

I still find it weird that a set with a base scales with a set without a base. Unless you build your own base, the two will look uneven in terms of height
The good thing is that Chewie was on sale Wednesday this week on Amazon for 30% off so he was $140 and most likely Lego will put him for the same price by Black Friday and maybe even 40% off by then!
I gotta think currently at this point Lego knows the droids are really the only feasable and liked buildable star wars sets outside of maybe grogu or yoda. I would love to see them tap into droids more with K2 and IG-88, both would be quite popular and succesful sets. Also with a droideka out its possible we get a battle droid and super battle droid. Hell maybe even a dark trooper from Mando or if they really want to make me happy they could do HK-47 from KotoR, a market they have yet tap into outside of the Revan and Malik minifigs. I would also like to see them bring back the buildable troopers on the level of C-3PO and Chewy as well. I think stormtroopers and clone troopers in that style would be incredibly popular especially for MOC

The QT-KT astromech set leaked. It’s a Rebel vs Stormtrooper mega battle pack. It’s an updated version of the 2 we got back in 2007
Been wanting a buildable 3-PO for a long Tim, and it did not disappoint.
I bought R2 mainly because of the rumored 3PO but also because I’ve never gotten one of the buildable character sets, glad R2 and 3PO scale well together. To me 3PO’s eyes aren’t scary, but something is off. Maybe it’s because the face should be flat then sink in for the eyes but the radar dishes first curve out away from the head before curving back in where the trans-yellow studs go for the eyes. Either way, like the set and will get it once it gets a discount.

I'd love to see how the size of this compares to the bigger R2-D2s, like the 75308
This wasnt on my wish list initially but the fact it is in scale with the $100 R2D2 makes me want to pick this up if it goes on sale
I like how this and the old Technic figure have the same eye pieces used.

Overall, I think C-3PO looks great. I also agree about the "problem" of 'different' silver & gold pieces being used...they could have molded pieces for this set from a single silver, and a single gold. As for the eyes, I don't think them "creepy"...but, they are definitely NOT 'right' - the diameter is to big.
I plan on "fixing" that problem when I get my C-3PO...but, I'll admit, I have to first figure out 'how' I'm going to fix it. Finally, as for putting C-3PO & R2-D2 together, I've already been at work on a MOC stand that will allow them to be placed side-by-side, while simultaneously retaining the base C-3PO is attached to.
I literally watched the r2d2 review this morning before this came out!
Very nice set I love the set plaque with the hinges hope to see more of that with sets like this. Now they need to make a buildable battle droid so we can swap the heads.
So the silver bricks do exist. I thought they dont! Lego!! When do we get our hands on Padme’s Nubian!? That ship is a dream.

I only wish it came with an exclusive anniversary figure like R2-D2. Just imagine it being like Shmi or a new Bail Organa or anyone we likely wont get in a set.
Would prefer some spots of the belly with 3D wires, e.g. like the tatic board in the Icons Police Station.
I think at this point, Chewbacca is worth it if you can find him heavily discounted, as the assumed belief should be that LEGO plans to make Han, Luke, and Leia in the future. Otherwise, yeah, C3PO and R2 are the perfect pairing to just get.
Never understood why they don’t use Pearl gray for C-3PO’s silver foot, we know they can do it cuz of Mad-Eye Moody from the Lego Harry Potter CMF. Still, I need that minifigure in my collection.

They simply used the stones that were in stock for the set and didn't introduce any new ones, especially with the right leg, light bluish grey instead of silver, which is really really Bad for the price. 4 out of 10. 90 Bucks maximum …
Almost perfect.
Only real misses are Stickers and no 25th anniversary Minifigure.

I really like the set in general and the combination with the 100€ R2-D2 is awesome but the eyes throw me off. Wish they did them with a round printed 2x2 tile.

The fact that they used actual shiny gold for the infinity gauntlet for Marvel and they didnt do it here shows how much less Lego respect us as SW Fans. They know most people would just buy anything they throw at us without complaining. The ridiculous price increase on the next wave its just them testing us, and sadly it will work....
I have to say I buy most sets at sale a few months after release, and I hope people realize, that if more people just wait for sales, there will be more sales, since the price of the Lego sets its based on what people are willing to pay and not on the actual value of the materials and production.
The set is really nice, and I wouldve defintely bought it, if it had actual shiny gold pieces, since it looks so good next to R2-D2, prolly will get it anyway at a sale.

When you were talking about the C-3PO, mini figure of the set, I couldn’t tell if you were being facetious or truthful because you have so many I guess harsh things to say about other mini figures(cough, cough helmet holes).
I’m pretty sure the gold is a different color cause Lego doesn’t want to use money to make the specific pieces in the correct gold color
Add a octan oil can to this set would be so smart.
when the arms came off, it's like the small millenium falcon and the cockpit bridge deck arm... that comes off easily too. I think that, for the price, it's not worth it.

Lego really needs to get all parts in the colors needed. This is honestly ridiculous considering every other brick brand can manage it and yet lego is supposed to be ahead of them all. Even tho they have other issues that need to be addressed, this is my biggest gripe with Lego, personally

Ok, LEGO won't do chrome cause of reasons, but they should have done this in drum lacquered silver and gold. This would look good if it were lacquered, like this it looks like a cheap knockoff.
