I remember doing this in the 80s when there was one direct train from Harrogate to Kings cross and discovered that changing in York and then directly into Kings Cross non-stop was actually an half an hour faster.
When i got the Harrogate train to Leeds from Kings Cross it had only 5 coaches. Everyone was crammed together, there was no trolley and the toilet had no water. I was threatening to use Grand Central next time but the 9 coach return journey was really nice.
Glad I found this channel, I love full journey videos and the announcements they accommodate/passenger noise and there aren't enough of them on RUclips.

3 amazing viaducts (Kirkstall, Pool & Crimple) and 1 historic tunnel (Bramhope) between Leeds and Harrogate. Such a beautiful line.
Frequent Intercity services from Harrogate to London is great in itself, but LNER also do limited services to Bradford, Keighley, Shipley & Skipton!
Harrogate is not new to the LNER network. There was one a day in each direction. All LNER have done is increased the frequency of Harrogate services
Sorry Jack, should of explained better. It was a new LNER destination for me

@The Frequent Traveller im guessing the Driver was waiting for the Diesel Engines to warm up for about 10 minutes before departing the station.
No really, we have a longer stop at Leeds to allow the driver to change ends and set the cab up etc
what was the name of the level crossing that is next to Pannal station
