Thank you for not having music over the journey, and just the sounds of the train. There are plenty of RUclipsrs like Don Coffey who do this and get substantial interest, so I sincerely hope their success bleeds off a little into your channel 😃👍👍
I love that you included the announcements, and sounds from the ride rather than put music over the whole thing. The facts are great too. This is so relaxing!
Even though I don’t live in the uk let alone Europe it’s amazing seeing a real time trip on the railway and more interesting than the goods trains we see here in Canada
Wow, I haven't visited the Cross for a while. I can't believe all the new buildings. The new track layout looks much simpler. Best view in the house. It should be piped into screens down the train for enthusiastic customers.
A very interesting video, thanks. Great respect to the drivers on these routes - the level of concentration needed so as to note every signal flashing by must be considerable.
The detail and work which went into editing this video with all the facts and information at every moment is what maks LNER the best operator in the UK. you all clearly care so much. amazing work. PS: oh wow!! the google 'groundscaper' has had some of its scaffolding removed. it looks INCREDIBLE, wow. so impressive
Really enjoyed the video along with all the “Did you know” information. Only critique is an occasional swipe with the wiper/washer would be appreciated to clear the windshield.
Excellent Feature video of a route I've travelled many many times, could possibly have been even better with a clean windscreen, but that's nit-picking. can't wait for the next one.

Absolutely amazing. As I`m a railway lover it's a dream to be a part of your professional team. But it`s imposible, because i`m not from the UK... Thanks for the video.

Great video certainly nice to see from the drivers perspective. Would love to see a view from your, class 91 and mk4 set in heritage intercity livery. Hopefully in a few years will be me in the drivers seat driving for my local area in East Suffolk 👍
What a find - a trip back to my home town (I left in 1969 but haven’t been back since ‘84.) It’s smaller but I always preferred Newark Castle station. Thanks for the ride, and the included info. Am now a new subscriber. 👍🇦🇺
A cracking little route learner giving the important basics. A good idea may have been to have an indicator showing the mileage covered from leaving LKX as the journey progresses.
@@dapto234Amateur footage will always have screenwash/wipers in action occasionally to keep the view clear. And yet here we have the company itself, the 'LNER", not doing this on a basically promotional video!
Recommend the Harrogate to Leeds video. Lovely scenery and includes the fantastic entrance to the Bramhope Tunnel, which runs directly under our house!
Great information: but I must have missed the announcement that Peterborough has one of the three greatest Romanesque (Norman) cathedrals in England: the other two being Ely and Durham.
Its so interesting the difference in modes of transport, in Europe they rely heavily on high speed rail while in the US we have the interstate highway system and passenger rail travel is largely restricted to heavy urban centers/corridors.
Excellent video, shame the windscreen wasn't cleaned though. Can someone please clarify the flashing green lights on a section after the stop at Peterborough. As far as I was aware, this went back to the days when you were permitted to travel at 140mph on certain sections of the route. As the maximum line speed is now 125mph, why are they flashing?
Can i suggest as well as the speed the train is doing, also add the line speed and line name too. Oh on another note, if the drivers could clean the windscreen more offen
love this i recently done a trip in firstclass from peterbough to stirling change edinburgh sadly conecting train was canciled but managed to get a scot rail but i must say it was absalutly wonderfull. keep up the good work!!!
Excellent. I like the real time speed read out. Am I rright in sayng I didn't see any/many speed boards trackside on some of the 4-track sections? I won't mention the dirty screen since others have - oops, I have mentioned it! More please. [Just seen in the notes that the speed isn't real time but an approximation. Disappointing]
Question? At 41.17mins, the old signal box at the Holme crossing and the loop prior to it seem to be on the wrong side or the train was on the up line towards Huntingdon and London?
A very interesting and worthwhile enterprise in my view, especially showing actual speeds. I noticed that most of the signals on the stretch north from Peterborough towards Stoke Tunnel seemed to be showing a flashing Green aspect. What does this signify please?
From Wikipedia: flashing green aspects are employed on the East Coast Main Line north of Peterborough. They were installed for 140 mph (225 km/h) running in connection with the testing of the new InterCity 225 electric trains, with a steady green limiting test trains to the normal speed limit of 125 mph (200 km/h). They no longer have official meaning, but remain in place and there are a couple of locations where the presence or absence of flashing provides useful information to drivers.
I play Train Sim, and id love to know: How would you typically accelerate from the platform in the Azuma? E.g Notch 1 till 5mph, 2 till 20mph etc etc. What is standard procedure?
North of Peterborough there was a succession of green signals with flashing display. After a few miles the displays reverted to continuous mode. Can someone explain what this was about, please?
With the introduction of the InterCity 225 in the late 1980s, the signals in that area were upgraded to test 140mph (225km/h) running, however it was determined that in-cab signalling is required for those higher speeds.
I'm surprised the UK allows level crossings on high-speed lines. The U. S. Federal Railroad Administration requires grade separation for any line with a maximum allowable speed of 110 mph or more.
New level crossings aren’t permitted and the number is gradually reducing across the network but this line dates back to the Great Northern Railway of 1850! Thanks for watching 🇺🇸🇬🇧
Thanks LNER. I enjoy 'travelling' along a line that I was very familiar with pre-electrification, pre-Hitchin flyover, and most definitely pre-Werrington dive-under. Was that GWR rolling stock on the left just North of Finsbury Park?
The AWS (Automatic Warning System) makes a noise whenever the train passes a marker on the track linked with the signalling system, different noises mean different things (the regular ping means there's a green light).
Oh I see thank you one of them i think worked out is the dead man's switch after the ping in the cab only here the destination where the train is going I take it the people here the other things like btp etc
Thank you for not having music over the journey, and just the sounds of the train. There are plenty of RUclipsrs like Don Coffey who do this and get substantial interest, so I sincerely hope their success bleeds off a little into your channel 😃👍👍
