- Heading back down the ECML towards London with Grand Central on a very early 06:43 Sunderland to London Kings Cross service. On the way we called at Hartlepool, Eaglescliffe, Northallerton, Thirsk, York before heading non-stop to London Kings Cross.
Along the way, we got held up between Hartlepool and Eaglescliffe so this has been cut out to stop you watching a train standstill for around 25 minutes.
We also go overtaken by an LNER Edinburgh service at Thirsk however, we overtook that LNER service which can be seen as we speed through Doncaster.
A great journey once again, and I would travel Grand Central again if I was requiring a trip on their network.

Great video, mate. This is a night time version
Great video mate. The Headcode is 1A60. This train will follow the other Grand Central 1A59 from Bradford Interchange go to London Kings Cross.
Would have been better if you had shown us what the train looked like from the outside also !
some of these class 180s have been transferred to EMR now but some are with Grand Central
I thought it was the 4 Hull Trains 180s that transferred to EMR, meaning that Grand Central Still have 10 180s (there are 14 180s in existence)
your camera didn't like this window almost fell off!!
shame that they didn't have catering service on board can you do leeds to kings cross in the near future
This video has already been filmed and will be issued in February. It’s London to Harrogate via Leeds. Next week is London to Hull with Hull Trains. Hope that helps
The Frequent Traveller omg I live only 5 miles away from Hull I can’t wait to see you film your ride looking forward to seeing it
they sound like 175s
Well most likely the doors open noise
the transmission sound is similar to the 175 as the Voith hydraulic transmission is similar, but the engine sound is more rumbly/thrummy or whatever you want to call it, as 180s have Cummins QSK19 engines same as 185s and Voyagers, rather than the Cummins N14 engines in the 175s.
Do they have fast acceleration?
Kinda... or a diesel train yes... compared to the Azumas no!
@@2011pendolino Knowing it's QSK19 Cummins engines.... They can be fast... IF all engines are working :P
You'll be going nowhere.
Oh come on :)
