If you have problems starting devices after installing eNSP, like the hashes happening constantly or error codes like 40 or 42, this video is the common workarounds that I recommend trying. ruclips.net/video/Kecte0rp9XI/видео.html
you dont know how grateful i am for your video!!! nothing works, and ive even went to numerous site for troubleshooting (act i tried your troubleshoot vid before this) and the only thing that works is to upgrade using your method. altho ive passed the deadline for my lab, its still nice to be able to manage this. thanks a lot and may your day full of blessings and stuff :D
Let's hope Microsoft doesn't change anything that eNSP needs to work. There was a period in the second half of 2019 when every update in Windows 10 messed with my eNSP install and I had to keep rolling the updates back.
Hey thanks for the video! Your guide worked perfectly for me even though I was using an insider preview build of Windows 11 23H2. I did do several things differently though, because when I first followed that step of installing Winpcap, Wireshark and Virtualbox in the eNSP installer, I also encountered a Program Compatibility Assistant warning while trying to install Virtualbox. I'm not sure which of the following solutions is the correct one but I did: 1)Turn off windows defender temporarily 2)Disabled core isolation (apparently it has something to do with Hyper V too) 3)Tried running eNSP and Virtualbox in compatibility mode
Glad it worked out. Thanks for the feedback - your troubleshooting will help a lot in the long term. I think all 3 things you did have a part to play in getting it working. Whenever you have an update for Windows 11, you might want to check eNSP behaves. There was a period around 2019 where every update I got on Windows 10 would mess with eNSP and I would have to roll-back the updates till I figured out a work around. I suspect the same will probably happen with eNSP, especially if Huawei doesn't do something about a newer version of it. Again, thanks for your great and detailed feedback - I really appreciate it.
@@etheralbeams7845 Hey, sorry for the late reply. For the core isolation it's in Windows Security itself (Try typing in core isolation in the window search bar) and then disabling Memory Integrity. For compatibility mode you find the .exe for eNSP and Virtualbox, then you right click and select "show more options" then "properties". Once you're in the properties window, click on the compatibility tab and tick "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and try experimenting with Windows 7 or 8. Hope this helps.
Hey friend, thanks for the simulator. Right now, i am studying more about Huawei, and I needed to try some quick commands. I am too lazy to install EVE haha
I don't blame you - I keep delaying on an EVE solution for Huawei. But I am sure I will have to as Windows 10 gets retired and Windows 11 brings new challenges to running eNSP. If you run into any issues, drop a comment and I'll try and help you.
It's a pleasure. The community helps a lot too when new problems crop up, which is highly likely given eNSP was last updated for a now defunct version of Windows 10. If you run into issues, let me know and I'll try help you as best I can.
@@darkbirdtech8023 thanks brother, I just installed from your video and downloaded and uploaded NE images and then checked by starting it, worked fine. If any problem arises, I will let u know.
Thanks for the info. First time I've heard that feature giving troubles with eNSP (I don't daily drive W11 - and may never). The number of things we are having to do with Windows to get eNSP working has definetly increased recently. I think I'll have to do a 2024 edition of the troubleshooting video. Would be amazing if Huawei would give us an updated eNSP or something.
Hello! I followed the exact same steps that you did but when I created a topo and started the devices in eNSP, it was giving me the following error: The performance counter are not available, this may cause switch simulator to stop working. In Windows 7/8/10 run Windows as Administrator and execute locdctr/r command please. Please tell me how to solve this issue. I have a Windows 11.
Make sure when eNSP launches and asks for admin rights, you are saying yes. If the error happens again, close eNSP, open a command prompt window with admin rights and run that command it is asking you to run. If it perists, you might have a virtualization feature on your CPU that you need to enable. Let me know if it carries on giving you trouble.
Hello you said that microsoft has started blocking versions besides your recommended version. What version should I use now besides of 5.2.44 vm? Since 5.2.44 wont be accepted anymore
A fairly new thing that started with Windows 11 after I made the Troubleshooting video is the core isolation. If you search Windows 11 for the "Core Isolation" settings and turn off the "Memory Integrity" setting, you may come right.
I have a question, why my firewall usg cant running, there's stuck with loading never ending hashtag symbol, I have added with an image that you shared sir
Check if devices like the AR2220 router boot up - it uses the same virtualization process the firewall does. With the hashes, there are two things you could try: 1) Re-register the images. Delete any devices in the work area and go to the top right corner of the screen. There should be a "Menu" next to the window control cluster. Click "Menu", then click "Tools", then "Register Device" and check the boxes and click Register. 2) Check that whatever software firewall your computer is using (I'd assume the Windwos Firewall), is not blocking anything eNSP related. You could temporarily disable the computer's firewall and see if that makes a difference, and then you know it is your computer's firewall. Sometimes, uninstalling eNSP and all supporting software, rebooting the computer and re-installing fixes that issue.
Check the solutions in the Troubleshooting video I pinned in the comments. With Windows 11, there are two new issues that came along after I did the troubleshooting video. Search for Core Isolation settings and turn off Memory Integrity. Then check if you have the Windows Sandbox feature enabled and turn that off.
If you are having problems using a VM, make sure that your CPU virtualization features are enabled. If you are trying to use Windows 11, turn off "Memory Integrity" under the "Core isolation" settings, and turn off WIndows Sandbox. If you are using a VM to run eNSP, use an older version of Windows that eNSP was designed for (Windows 7, 8.1 or 10).
It's an outdated version of Virtual Box, so I am not surprised that there are vulnerabilities. In fact I actually expect it. I have this running natively on a laptop and am using a reputable antivirus (almost an End-point Protection Platform) and have had no issues yet. You can run eNSP in a Windows VM that you don't provide network and internet access to, but it is a resource hungry way to do it. Also, eNSP has more weird quirks when it runs inside a VM. Finally, you can choose to avoid the risk, but then you cannot run anything besides switches in eNSP as it needs VirtualBox version 5.x.x Ultimately it's your choice - I'm just a random person on the internet.
