i completed the entire certmaster for Sec + and was halfway through the google cybersecurity certificate when i took the Sec + and passed in July. people say its an easy beginner test but that's not true. i didnt understand a lot of the test and the pbq's sucked. what i did was save the pbqs until last. i didnt even read them on the first pass, i just went on to the next question. answer the questions you know first then go back. i was confident that i hd failed the test but passed it by like 2 points. SO glad that done lol
My advice - study A+ material and do practice tests but DON’T pay for the exam. If your goal is Security+ just pay for that. Give yourself a timeline, schedule the exam and hold yourself accountable so you hit your daily/weekly goals and can take the test on time. Good luck!

I passed mine within 2 weeks, I used Andrew from Technical Institute of America CompTia Security + 701 Udemy practice questions , the exams look the same like his practice questions.

The A+ had a lot of artificial difficulty and it's looking like Sec+ does too. Even if you know the material well the questions sometimes are worded in a wacky way. You got it 💪
Failure is Not an Option. I am currently learning IT fundamental then networking before taking the sec+ as well. I'm hoping the get an overseas contract employment in the govtech sector. Thanks for this video it definitely will help me in term of what to sturdy and focus for the exam.

So I had to take Security + recently for an army mos and take it in 2 weeks and used this book by Ian Neil (CompTIA Security+ SY0-701 Certification Guide - Third Edition: Master cybersecurity fundamentals and pass the SY0-701 exam on your first attempt) and scored a 759, you should really consider getting it and studying with that book because it breaks everything down so much and with your background I know you could do it. 👍🏾

I took the exam 2 times! passed on my second! my first exam was 74 questions and it was very acronym heavy! The second exam had more scenarios! Keep studying don't give up!
@ Try to focus on learning the concepts and say the acronym instead of memorizing the letters and check out. TIA education on Udemy. I didnt have a crazy amount of them on my exam. And I didn't try to remember all of them because they all cant go on the exam it's only 75 questions. So you dont know what you'll get.
I would retake it as soon as possible. I would focus on the areas of improvement. I took the 601 and didn't pass the first time and wish I had done that. I'm taking the 701 this Saturday.

Same networking had got me hooked too. Realized that during my A+. Got that & Sec + now started my CCNA journey. For the performance based questions try to find the lead 2 pass material and see how those are done. That will help you a lot.
If you can share anything about their pbqs that would be helpful. Yes their pbqs😊 got me on the a+ but I eventually passed. Don't let the pbqs bring u down fam. I think you did awesome
The exam is definitely some luck. I passed on my first try, but I had like 20 questions where I got down to two answers and guessed lol. If I guessed wrong on like 5 more, then I would've failed. You got this!

It happen to me for the EHE from EcCouncil. I think i was ready, take the exam and i miss 2 point for the min passing score. I felt pain and i was felt like hulk, want to break all. I take 2 week trying to not think about it, chilling and relaxing. After those 2 week i return and start again to study from 0 and it was a nice "cold shower" i pass that test and now im starting to study security+ without listening to certain video online like "I pass sec+ in 24h" i feel stupid seeing those ahahahh. Hello, I passed Sec+ and Failed Cysa+ with same score of 730 2 weeks ago. I’m into DFIR but would like to transition into cloud engineering before completing my Undergrad next year . Can you help me with the lab too ?

Barely passed with 768 this morning. They mess you up with those pbq and weird questions. Also please! Do the network+ certification before you do the security+ or study how the network works.

I’m right down the street from you in Central Va. so I’m well aware of the opportunities that’s available in the DMV with GovTech.
I look at it like a driver's license for GovTech. For example, I have hair clients who own gov contracting staffing companies and they said if I had Sec+ I could easily get on board. But it's necessary for me to take the class to get my degree. I just happened to take the exam long before I decided to get another degree.

@@Maverick-xl8cm It depends on the school's curriculum. There are three CC's near me, each with a different curriculum for Cloud. The one I pick is more focused on industry standards. The other has more general ed classes even for the certificate. I would look into a neighboring county CC to compare the curriculums. You may pay a few hundred dollars more for each course, but if you like the courses offered it may be worth it. In the previous city I lived in the only IT degree at the CC was very CS focused as well and that discouraged me. But I wish I hadn't let it, because I could've gained so much back then. Also, remember once you get the foundation you can also do self-study.
You're taking on too much at once. Take one thing at a time. You have alot of clutter in your way. Focus on your degree then focus on SEC+ for example.

You're taking on too much at once. Take one thing at a time. You have alot of clutter in your way. Focus on your degree then focus on SEC+ for example.
@@dougbones7095 Thank you for the advice. But, Im not sure what you are referring to, but non of the things I'm doing are simultaneous. Most have been completed or are upcoming.
