This whole skit is gold, gotta love Donnell Rawlings sprinkling in some actual Korean language when he was insulting the Korean playa hater. Rawlings was in the Army in the 1980's and was stationed in South Korea for a time and picked up the language while he was out there
I met him when he showed up at the restaurant I worked at to eat with his then-gf, now wife. He spoke PERFECT Korean. It was really impressive.
He said he was in the Air Force in one of his jokes opening for Chappelle.
Well, not only is Ice-T a rapper, lead vocal in a metal band and of course actor, but he was in the original documentary this sketch was based on, "Pimps Up Ho's Down", as he was a real pimp, back in the day.

I am pleased to admit that I have used the "I hate you, I hate you, I don't even know you and I hate your guts." Many times. Many, many times.
The concept of the sketch is born out of course jealousy or 'hating,' as well as an actual event called The Players Ball where pimps and prostitutes from all over the country get together and award the pimp or Player of the Year. This ball has been going on for generations in America and there are videos and film footage of this ball on RUclips. It's a hilarious take on jealousy using pimp culture..
HBO did a special on the ball a few years before this as well.

This show/skit was so good, I’ve seen these skits a hundred times and I still have tears from laughing. The Chappelle show was so good especially the second season. To this day nothing has come close. Nothing! The skits were great and the people he surrounded himself with were perfect. Season two is the standard all other shows are measured to, yet still all light years away. I’m rich bitch aweee thank you!

When I was 14 I was lucky enough to have a friend tell me about a new show made by Dave Chappelle. I made sure my mom was asleep and watched it every night when it first aired.

The 90’s saw several popular periods of music. Hair metal was on its last feet at the beginning of the decade, with grunge taking over in the early to mid 90’s. That transitioned into post-grunge and pop rock and then nu-metal. Against the backdrop of rock music during the decade was hip hop and straight up pop music. It was rare that an artist who was dominant in one genre would try to reinvent themselves in another genre, but that’s what happened when rapper Vanilla Ice tried to go metal.

This is a spoof on a documentary that HBO aired back in the 90's called "Pimps up, Ho's down". There's an actually Players Ball that takes place annually where all of the top pimps in the country meet up and present awards to each other. There was an actual pimp called Mr. Whitefolks. He was the only white pimp accepted by the other pimps. Type his name into youtube. Hilarious!
