They said because they are white they probably couldn't get away with it. Uhhh yeah you can. Pretty much Dark Comedy in the U.S. makes fun of all racist. Family Guy, South Park, Dave Chappell, Daniel Tosh, Bill Burr. Brits like more Dry humour where I would say U.S. likes a mixture of dry humor and dark humor. I purely like dark humor so I've always been a fan of Dave Chappelle. But I don't like Dry humor, I can not watch shows like the Office.
This bit is right up there with Patrice Oneal talking on a radio station about how the song Creep by Radiohead does something deep inside to white people. LOL
The guy dancing wanted to get on the show and they said do something funny .. so he did they dance .. so they just added him to a bunch of skits doing that dance .. the dvd of Chappell snow with the commentary on is as funny as the show
One thing I've never understood about this skit is that some of the best and most revered guitarists in music history have been black. BB King, Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Chuck Berry, Albert Collins, Bo Diddly, Muddy Waters, Prince, Slash, the last goes on. Hell, they INVENTED blues music, and the electric guitar perfected the form.
When Dave was speaking quietly in the restaurant, I was reminded of that silly commercial where the voiceover guy says they secretly replaced the restaurant's coffee with Folgers instant coffee (or some coffee brand).
The Chappelle show is a lesson in letting things end in its prime.. It was only on for 2 seasons and it will always be classified as the best sketch comedy show of all time IMO
They had started filming a third season, but Dave left halfway through because Comedy Central wanted more creative input and was ruining the show. They ended up showing what they already filmed with the episodes hosted by Charlie Murphy and Donnell Rawlings. You could really tell which sketches Dave and his team wrote and which ones Comedy Central wrote.
@@seakc87 Comedy Central is a lesson in corporate suits ruining a cash cow. Hope the people responsible got fired, it's the best show they ever had, that and South Park.
@@HookedonChronics Same thing happened to the Boondocks a couple of years later. Aaron McGruder ended up leaving the show after season 3 and season 4 was horrible. Hopefully, HBO learns from the past and stays as far out of his way as possible.
You don’t see much of his humor in the sketch, but John Mayer is hilarious. Check out “John Mayer Has a TV Show” or his cameo in the movie “Get Hard” to get an idea of just how funny he is.
My favorite part of the sketch is when they're in the barbershop and it cuts back to Quest and Dave and Dave's dancing too because he's black and also can't help it, lol.
Do you know what's cool in London, Bristol or all over the UK? They blend Rock guitar, Hip-Hop drums, Ethnic sounds, Jamaican vocals, synth and what "thefuck" ever and call it Jungle, Trip Hop, Ambient, The Prodigy, Massive Attack, etc Only in fucking UK (I'm born in Paris, live 20+ in Brixton, I just like the mix)
@da ra Daz lived in the US for a little while. When the guy said "I'm from the suburbs" Daz immediately laughed. The stereotype is white people live in the suburbs meaning he is surrounded by white people so he hears the music all the time.
Dave was spot on with this one. He really brings out the truths we all think- and has the balls to do it. You need to do “When keeping it real goes wrong”. You’ll enjoy that as well.
Did anyone else notice that in the barber shop, the guy doing the robot dance is the same guy doing the same dance as in the Charlie Murphy Prince story, where he had the single strap women's tank top on backwards at the dance club?
I have seen this so many times and I still love it. I'M ACTUALLY CRYING OF LAUGHTER OVER HERE !!! Love and miss The Dave Chappelle Show but his comedy sketch show wouldn't fly today I don't think. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
No, it wouldn't. And those who try to say it would can't point to one show on today that is similar. The most we've got is some older standup comedians like Chapelle, Rock, Gervais, who just barely manage to get away with it because they were "grandfathered in." Probably the only non-PC show I can think of is Curb Your Enthusiasm and even that has gotten more PC over the years and there are jokes it did 10 years ago it wouldn't do now.
The worst part is literally this skit explained to me why I was a bad dancer. Most songs dance to the vocalists cadence but I'm out here headbanging to the lead guitar
I’ve never seen this one and I flipped out when he unveiled Questlove. Like, holy crap, legendary drummer of The Roots, musical producer of “Hamilton”-this skit must have cost a fortune between Questlove and John Mayer as guest stars
