Has anyone given up alcohol, and once in sobriety realised they've been drinking to cope with a relationship that needs to end? Not an abusive one, or toxic, just a very long term one that had died years ago.

All I have to do first is imagine a hangover I had once from drinking several unfiltered wheat beers. Sick huge waves of incurable nausea. Pounding pain in my scull. Couldn't get a satisfying breath. Heart struggling to pump. Aching back and neck. Eyes burning and so sensitive to light that I couldn't look outside.....and more. Yuck.
I needed to listen to this today. I keep stopping and failing. I can do it for a few weeks then an occasion always gets in the way and I lose my resolve. Weekend in Edinburgh did for me this weekend. A visualisation is a great idea. Working on mine right now. Thank you for this.
