    I've realized many things after I quit drinking. One of them is I love being alone, with myself, with my thoughts. That wasn't the case in the past. Even if I have nothing to do, I'm not bored. Being content with the simplicity is a blessing. I've never had peace of mind until now.

    One thing I noticed whenever I try and quit alcohol even for just a couple of weeks. Daily activities become more interesting and I feel more motivated to do them. I think alcohol abuse can cause anhedonia.

    1 year without alcohol. I like your vids because society programs us to think it's good to drink. It's better not to drink on balance, and your videos are a nice counter narrative. It's positive deprogramming.

    4yrs this week after 35 yrs of daily drinking. Never thought I'd escape but i did. Best surprise is i dont even miss it. Its hard in the beginning, the 1st few days, weeks, and months, but you gain steam to the point where you look up and holy shit...its been a year! Its doable, you just need a strong enough reason to quit.

    I'm 18 months clean today🎉 😂.. life's so much easier and better without the complications of alcohol. I really should have done it year's earlier but I didn't know how alcohol was used by the powers to be, to keep us dumbed down and addicted to this substance. I barely get any cravings, and I don't need to attend A.A to stay sober.. I just use the realisation that there's no benefit in consuming it whatsoever.. once I chose to treat alcohol like the poison that it really is it becomes much easier to leave it behind and out of my life.
    Thanks Kevin, your videos helped me so much in the beginning of my journey and I feel good watching the occasional one now to see my old friend who helped me get clean...

    I’m coming to end of a 90 day goal I set myself not to drink on my days off work. Was doing 30 uk units a week average before my break. That was my pattern for years.
    I wouldn’t say I had a problem. But I was over consuming. Now I don’t know whether to allow myself the permission to have some alcohol over the next few months in run up to Christmas. See if I feel different.
    Then evaluate things again in the new year.

    All those bennies are so true!! After over a year im really finally getting to the part where my mind is free from triggers for the most part. There a few scattered moments but they are melting away like the wicked witch. Really no thought of having fake beer on hand anymore either. Truly another burden emptying out along the journey.

    • @HabitsV2
      @HabitsV2  2 дня назад +5

      It depends on what you do, I reckon. I think we can all get depressed at life or at the life we've created through our drinking... I have the dips now and then also. It is what it is 😀

    • @georgef1936
      @georgef1936 2 дня назад

      I think also when you stop it suddenly frees up more consciousness and that can make peope feel sad as they realise their life isnt where they want it to be whilst drink often covers it up @HabitsV2

    • @himawari4166
      @himawari4166 2 дня назад +2

      I`ve also been depressed from time to time, but it is getting better and better, it depends on how you see life. Sometimes it`s just good to bring those feelings forward and appreciate them. Before when we drank, we erased all of those emotions and never really learnt to deal with them. We are invited to learn this now. It`s a process.

    • @antykom1

      Everybody feels depressed from time to time. Your brain is trying to trick you to believe that you are depressed because of not drinking. Drink water and take ashwaganda. It helps. Don't believe your thoughts.

      Benfotiamine might help. Sounds like your bodys' Thiamine levels are super depleted. Booze and carbs will do that.

      Hi Mike, & GOD Bless you, for Reaching Out!, ... I'm 77, & have now been Completely Free of Alcohol for 16 years. Up until that Day Of Liberation (10/29/08), Alcohol had had a constant & unrelenting grip on me, from the time I awakened everyday, until sleep (& I might still awaken for a drink in the night) & my life, that I just could not shake; trying various methods, over many years, like: Just trying to Stop with Will Power, Fasting for 30 days, Countless AA Meetings, etc.
      Alcohol, as you probably know is a progressive disease, wherein your health begins to deteriorate, over time, as mine certainly was, with DT's, high Blood Pressure, etc.
      Finally, in Utter Desperation, in the wee hours of the Night, of 10/29/08, feeling totally Hopeless, Desperate, Alone & Sick, I Cried out to GOD, in Prayer, with ALL MY HEART ❤, Telling GOD that I was Completely Helpless in Stopping Drinking Alcohol, & to PLEASE Take This From Me. Somehow, I was soon asleep in the wee hours of that night.
      When I awakened the next day, the Biggest Miracle Of My Life was Immediately Apparent to me: When I awakened, I had absolutely NO Dt's requiring that morning nip of the bottle, that I had grown all too accustomed to, & I immediately noticed that Any Thought of Alcohol that I might have, was overlaid with Extreme Distaste; Revulsion actually. The very thought of Alcohol was Now Extremely Disgusting!! Wow, What A Change!!!! 😮 From that day forward, until now, I have never once thought of Alcohol with any thought other than complete & total revulsion. 😝😖😫.. What a Miracle, indeed!
      Bottom line: Because Alcoholism is Driven by Satanic Forces & Demons, the only way to get free of Alcohol, once you are hooked, is to enlist, with all your Will & Complete Sincerity, GODS Grace & Help, in Casting Out The Demons. If you are Sincere in your Efforts, you will Most Certainly Succeed in getting Free, as did I.
      Again, GOD Bless & Keep you well.......Om Shanti Shanti Shanti, Adami I Am 🌈🙏🌹💜🙏

    The only thing I`m sort of scared of is when I die and reincarnation is true, I might have to relearn everything I`ve taken so long to learn and build up, go through everthing again until I reach that wonderful age and mind that I have now. Because we forget, I `d like to enjoy this here as long as possible, just wish I had started this journey earlier. Life is beautiful, nobody said it is easy, but I enjoy so many small moments. I just love listening to your videos! Thank you for being part of bringing me on this way.

    well this may be a solution for some .. however, for many years i enjoyed a simple cocktail before dinner .. one per day .. then recently after going on a diet i chose to stop having that pre-dinner daily drink out of curiosity to see what would happen .. and now after 10 weeks of abstinence i don't feel a bit different .. so maybe it's for really heavy drinkers that there's a transformation ..??
