My friend and I during the high school weekly challenge got a ghost with ghost orbs, fingerprints, and it did an obake handprint. I told my friend that we should still try to get EMF and check for freezing and spirit box, because even though it was a small chance it could be a mimic mimicking an obake. Ended up being a mimic and I was so thankful that we checked for its evidence instead of just going with the obvious obake. 😂
and yet hes the one saying how broken this method is and that its ruining the game and calling other people shit for using this method... yet here he is promoting it saying its his favorite way to level up

Tell me you don't know how to prepare for a test without telling me you don't know how to prepare for a test. You need to know and understand the subject you're being tested on. Memorization is not enough. A lesson taught to me by an instructor at EMT school.

Simply put it’s memorising potential behaviours and experiencing the exceptions
i dont see how you people find that fun. completely ruin your immersion for what?. how is it fun to instantly know its a yurei because of how it touched a door? all mystery and tension is gone when you treat it like a bunch of code

One strat that I end up using to figure out goryo is putting salt in places outside the ghost room but also close to it, in my experience goryos don't only have a tendency to roam less, they just almost never roam, and when they do they never go far at all. Though this is only useful if you're not playing with 0 sanity, since when they hunt they just go anywhere really. I usually use this strat in nightmare or insanity. hope this helps someone :)

Cool video. I've seen you do this strat before Insym but it's nice to see again. My go to difficulty setting in Phasmo is regular no evidence on Tanglewood. So I go between Camp Woodwind grinding (but taking my time trying to get the easy objectives and to get a second hunt to test for mimic), and no evidence runs generally.
I think they should add an ability to the Goryo where it cannot touch any doors, besides the ones connected to the ghost room, it could still throw items outside the room, but I think it should have another defining feature.
Was playing on prison with a few friends last night, one of the dumbasses broke the ouija board and left, leaving me to loop the ghost in A Block. I notice that it was unbelievably fast when chasing but slowed down significantly when not. As soon as the hunt was over I said "get the fuck out, its a rev" it was, in fact, not a rev but a mimic being a mimic. Just before the truck closed I even said "how much you wanna bet its a mimic mimicking a revenant and I hate myself for it
Nice I totally agree with you insym I’m now a technician just levelled I’ve also played for a while I now do the no evidence I prefer it to doing professional now, I love watching you and psycho play and owe my success to you. I’ve now seen all the ghosts abilities and love looking out for them anyway keep up the good work and you never know one day maybe have some games with you 😊
As a custom game enjoyer and less ghost knowledge, we test every ghost, after the hunt ended (you gotta smudge) and set up a timer, after that, everyone enteres and find the bone asap, we take photos of the salt 8x and one interaction photo, if you got all objectives, bone, and correct ghost type, you get around 5.3k. It's like completing a challenge per game if you have it correctly, personally yurei, shade, goryo, mare, jinn is difficult to me to determine without breaker hahah
Sometimes you can tell if it’s a yurie if it closes/opens the main gate without it being a hunt. Onryo test is put a crucifix down and a candle on top of it/right next to it and if the crucifix burns then it’s not an Onryo, if you’re in the room and the candle keeps getting blown out but the crucifix isn’t getting burnt then it’s an Onryo which will hunt you after the 3 blow out of a candle/lighter/camp fire.
Also for the morei a lot of people forget that the moroi is smudged for double the time, or 9 seconds, whichever one it is. I've heard 9 seconds, I've also heard 12.
In Camp Woodwind start, we try to do couple of runs before we leave or until smudge sticks runs out. It also help me how to loop a ghost. And its fun to just guess the ghost without any evidences 😂
my first ever run with this, was a mimic. first hunt just seemed like a regular ghost but the second hunt... it mimicked a deogen. that was terrifiyng.
That's exactly what keeps happening to me lol, I've gotten countless difficult to guess ghosts. But I got a Phantom and Jinn that were pretty easy to tell.
23:20 That's an interesting thought, if the ghost is a mimic and hunts as a normal smudge duration ghost and you smudge it then it changes into a Demon, does it use the smudge timer of the ghost it was when you smudged or the ghost it is? This wasn't something you talked about in the "All ghosts explained" video from a while back and I don't remember it being in a video. I think logically, I would assume it would hunt sooner or later depending on what it changed into but I doubt that's something you can really test for and would need a dev to say one way or the other.
For those rev, I remember one time when i've got one. I'ved smodged it and it slowed down. So I said "Awww... this is a cute little deoge...*died to the rev speedup again*"
The reason for people leaving on Camp Woodwind is becaue the point is not only to get EXP, but to also do fast runs even if you get them wrong. The faster you reset your run, the more exp you can potentially get if you're lucky with the ghost types.
You mentioned that ghosts max out at 2.8 m/s, Deos, Revs and Moroi can all be faster than that, Moroi is a lot faster since it'll speed up with LOS to over 3.5 m/s
For me personally, I think this way of grinding is more fun. I don't think that other people should play like this if they like the camp woodwind strategy more, because that's what video games are supposed to be. There is no right or wrong way to play a video game, if you boot it up and enjoy the time you spent playing the game, you were right. Games should be fun, no matter how you play.
I somehow managed to get the ghost right in 1 sec. Because I loaded into the map and then immediately left and the ghost happened to be a spirit which is auto selected in the book.
You know what be awesome thing is if ghost did a ghost event but they would drag a player & you have to tap crouch to have let you go or your sanity will drain big & in multiplayer it’s faster drain & harder to get off unless someone helps you
Additional it be neat if the ghost grabbed your equipment as well & moved it around yk, also if you typed ya name in the ghost could whisper your name sometimes
Regarding seemingly strange sounding ghost speed. Could it be that there are implementation details, that cause foot steps to sound different than expected in some situations? E.g., when ghost steps on or off stairs, or specific turns, or when they start to follow a new path or whatever
It would be great if devs would change the ability of yurei with smudge sticks I think that if you smudge a yurei it cannot change ghost room and its colliding with the goryo ability beacouse he cannot do it at all A small little thing that they could do is if after you smudge a yurei for the duration of the smudge or like a minute it has a bigger chance to change its ghost room It would be really nice cause if the ghost changes its ghost room you know its not a goryo and you could use that ability later to see if it changes the ghost room again and if it does u know its a yurei Although it could be a bit of annoying at times if the ghost roams left and right but if balanced correctly it could be a nice little thing and would make playing no evidence runs feel just better
I find a lot of the ghosts to be pretty inconsistent and that's probably my only real complaint with the game. I swear I've been hunted and spawned on by Shades. I've actually had someone last night wish for knowledge when the Goryo was upstairs in Brownstone, we were in the main lobby downstairs and they instantly died from being again spawned on. Getting to the lobby to see the ghost had me like "hollup, out of all the ghost to get rekt by, shouldn't be that one surely"
Ignoring the fact that crucifixes are broken sometimes (i.e. ghosts starting hunts on top of them, although I think what happens is that it wonders over them during the grace period?), the Shade I think seems like it hunts and interacts in the room with you because it wonders outside the room to start the hunt but is still in range of the crucifix, or interacts with things in your room through the walls. Last night we had a Goryo start hunts in rooms "2 rooms away" on 2 separate investigations..... so... they are either broken or get wonky when custom settings sets roaming high.
im confused about onryo. you said that if the onryo blows out the candle 3 times it will hunt. but at 14:00 it didnt hunt. can i get some more intel on that?
So far the only ghosts I can figure out during a hunt are the easier ones. Goryo, Hauntu, Phantom and Poltergeist. You’ve taught me so much but I still have a lot to learn!

The camp woodwind strategy is just the most efficient way to level up, takes about 2 mins per run but you CAN do multiple hunts to try to figure out the ghost, the only exception is maybe yurei, goryo, banshee or any ghost that dont have hunt specific abilities, as these ghost will be near impossible to guess without evidence.
This is what I do, taking a bit extra time on the WW strat opens up a lot more potential ghosts to figure out, gives more chance to compete secondary objectives to massively increase the payout, and is also just more fun in general. I will say I don't know why people say the Banshee is impossible to figure out since if the ghost is always on top of you without you being in the ghost room, chances are it's a Wraith, Phantom, or Banshee, and Wraith and Phantom are both easy to prove or disprove.
@Abion47 yup, when me and my friend did it, we would throw as much equipment in as possible and try to set up salt, secondary objective items to try and get as much done during the first hunt. The salt is a great way to get photos and also to see if its a wraith (I've only had like 3 wraith so far). We try to get a perfect game when possible but sometimes finding the bones is tough.
I've tested it and the Onryo does not always hunt on the 3rd fire blow out but it will kind of stop all activity and blow out the fire a lot more than other ghosts.
The point isn't that it will ALWAYS do that, it's just an odds thing. If it blows the candle out 3 times without hunting you can make a reasonable assumption.
I can confirm that making one hunt games and quitting it if it's not an obvious ghost ruined Phasmo for me personally, it suddenly became a very boring game and now I don't feel like playing in any mode at all. I hope to get enthusiastic about the game soon. Phasmo Is great, but right now it's like something is off... Listen to Insym, don't be tempted to do the silly Camp Woodwind strategy.
when i was doing the 12.97 test on campsite we were getting 5k in a perfect game of doing the tasks, and getting 10 salt pics. usually got it from the first hunt too
wish mic volume wasnt so high,, have to turn it down and when i do game sound is even quieter :(, mic and game volume being same volume would be awesome
ive done the camp woodwind strat a few times and most of the time i go to an area away from the ghost if it doesnt hunt instantly and see if it roams or tps to me and i wait a little bit before leaving if the ghost is near the gate to see if it would be a yurei but it is a pretty cheesy only paying attention to the hunt alone and sometimes i do more than one hunt on it also i feel like it would be cool if they allowed us to add more first and last names to the list of names so we could have even funnier names, but i would understand why if they didnt want us doing that
I use CWW strat mainly for the grind, Gotta get those animated Icons, But I LOVE catching out Banshees, Onryos, Shades, and Yuries the few times I get lucky and they're close or use their abilities before the hunt.
Its weird that the most rewarding way to play, is also the easiest... I remember playing when the new items first came out, and i got like 50% of ghosts wrong, and died a few times on professional. But then i changed to no evidence and it became SO easy.
I don't see the two as mutually exclusive. I learned how to ID every ghost before 0.9 doing 10.22x runs where I'd stay as long as necessary. After the update, I was excited by the quick games of the CWW strat, and I wanted the cool badges (and future content) that comes with high Prestige. Now that I'm P20, I'm happy playing a NM/Insanity 5.15x hybrid.
A friend of mine was hiding in a room at the stairs in the highschool and a revenant somehow detected him while it was downstairs and ended up getting my friend, so im wondering if there is an issue with players clipping through the floors and getting detected that way
If you get good at camp woodwind there are only about 3 ghosts that you can't figure out (Yurei, mare, Goryo. Although you can get lucky and either rule out/confirm these.). However in most lobbies this number can be bigger, if they are not willing to wait longer to test for things like Onryo, for example. With that said, I do like this strategy, it is certainly more fun.
@@CardBreaker9 no, I use wired. insym should record a small test video, throw it in his editor to find out the delay in milliseconds. Then adjust that in obs.
Jin walks normally, then speeds up when he has line of sight on you untill he is somewhat close and then moveds normally. Revenant moves extremely slow untill he finds a player's (either by sound , electronics or by line of sight) and then walk ungodly fast untill it loses track of you again.
insym i love u man but for the love of god PLEASE START RULING OUT SHADES WHEN THEY HUNT FROM THE SAME ROOM YOU'RE IN. its IMPOSSIBLE for a shade to hunt from the same room at ANY sanity
I just want to point out that people should also go with their gut sometimes lol. I end up not guessing right because i think im so sure...i second guess and switch it to my second option at the last minute. I want to suggest to people to NOT do that.

On tanglewood if you do no evidence you can still hide behind the main door of wilson room and you will be safe in the hunt

can you get whispers with the para mic while in the same room? I only get them when I'm like atleast 10-20 meters away

A quick look at the wiki says that after 3 blow outs it attempts to hunt but it isn't guaranteed.

The camp woodwind strategy is just the most efficient way to level up, takes about 2 mins per run but you CAN do multiple hunts to try to figure out the ghost, the only exception is maybe yurei, goryo, banshee or any ghost that dont have hunt specific abilities, as these ghost will be near impossible to guess without evidence.
This is what I do, taking a bit extra time on the WW strat opens up a lot more potential ghosts to figure out, gives more chance to compete secondary objectives to massively increase the payout, and is also just more fun in general. I will say I don't know why people say the Banshee is impossible to figure out since if the ghost is always on top of you without you being in the ghost room, chances are it's a Wraith, Phantom, or Banshee, and Wraith and Phantom are both easy to prove or disprove.
This is why he has made the video to showing not to leave after not getting a obvious ghost and finding it through its behaviour
@Abion47 yup, when me and my friend did it, we would throw as much equipment in as possible and try to set up salt, secondary objective items to try and get as much done during the first hunt. The salt is a great way to get photos and also to see if its a wraith (I've only had like 3 wraith so far). We try to get a perfect game when possible but sometimes finding the bones is tough.
I've tested it and the Onryo does not always hunt on the 3rd fire blow out but it will kind of stop all activity and blow out the fire a lot more than other ghosts.
The point isn't that it will ALWAYS do that, it's just an odds thing. If it blows the candle out 3 times without hunting you can make a reasonable assumption.

I can confirm that making one hunt games and quitting it if it's not an obvious ghost ruined Phasmo for me personally, it suddenly became a very boring game and now I don't feel like playing in any mode at all. I hope to get enthusiastic about the game soon. Phasmo Is great, but right now it's like something is off... Listen to Insym, don't be tempted to do the silly Camp Woodwind strategy.
when i was doing the 12.97 test on campsite we were getting 5k in a perfect game of doing the tasks, and getting 10 salt pics. usually got it from the first hunt too
His point was leaving after not getting the 50/50 (identifiable ghosts) is kinda lame, why not just stay and identify the ghost.

ive done the camp woodwind strat a few times and most of the time i go to an area away from the ghost if it doesnt hunt instantly and see if it roams or tps to me and i wait a little bit before leaving if the ghost is near the gate to see if it would be a yurei but it is a pretty cheesy only paying attention to the hunt alone and sometimes i do more than one hunt on it
also i feel like it would be cool if they allowed us to add more first and last names to the list of names so we could have even funnier names, but i would understand why if they didnt want us doing that
I use CWW strat mainly for the grind, Gotta get those animated Icons, But I LOVE catching out Banshees, Onryos, Shades, and Yuries the few times I get lucky and they're close or use their abilities before the hunt.
Its weird that the most rewarding way to play, is also the easiest...
I remember playing when the new items first came out, and i got like 50% of ghosts wrong, and died a few times on professional. But then i changed to no evidence and it became SO easy.

I don't see the two as mutually exclusive. I learned how to ID every ghost before 0.9 doing 10.22x runs where I'd stay as long as necessary. After the update, I was excited by the quick games of the CWW strat, and I wanted the cool badges (and future content) that comes with high Prestige. Now that I'm P20, I'm happy playing a NM/Insanity 5.15x hybrid.
A friend of mine was hiding in a room at the stairs in the highschool and a revenant somehow detected him while it was downstairs and ended up getting my friend, so im wondering if there is an issue with players clipping through the floors and getting detected that way

If you get good at camp woodwind there are only about 3 ghosts that you can't figure out (Yurei, mare, Goryo. Although you can get lucky and either rule out/confirm these.). However in most lobbies this number can be bigger, if they are not willing to wait longer to test for things like Onryo, for example. With that said, I do like this strategy, it is certainly more fun.

@@CardBreaker9 no, I use wired. insym should record a small test video, throw it in his editor to find out the delay in milliseconds. Then adjust that in obs.

Jin walks normally, then speeds up when he has line of sight on you untill he is somewhat close and then moveds normally.
Revenant moves extremely slow untill he finds a player's (either by sound , electronics or by line of sight) and then walk ungodly fast untill it loses track of you again.
