For the objective im pretty sure that 30$ photo is because your using consumables items and the 25$ is the objective that dosnt use them! i could be wrong but im pretty sure its the case !

Just a random one: Who else remembers the voodoo doll cheese on Bleasdale pre-cursed possessions? There were 3 dolls on the map if I remember correctly, and they always gave you a free interaction photo, so you rushed in, took those pictures, took the bone photo if you happened to stumble into it, then leave. :D
Yep. Light a candle to prevent losing sanity. Man I realized I haven't played Bleasedale in like a really long time. Cabins killed my friends and I more often than anywhere else.

Insym needs to make a "Ghost Encyclopedia" series where he explains every no evidence method of knowing ghost types, listing all normal speed ghosts, all fast movers etc

If it wasn’t 2 hours long I’d suggest but it’s very detailed if you have the time. Someone should make. “This ghost in 2-3 minutes” then have them separate 😊
Seeing the Phantom, Obake and Oni back to back like that finally taught me to see the difference. I had always known there was a difference in their blinking (or shapeshifting) but it was hard for me to spot until now.

@Insym You can change the speech recognition to "Text" so you can use a spirt box with pre-written text. This is the most reliable way to find out if it is a spirit box.

why are suggesting something mundane to a man who has grinded to level 16661 on the previous phasmo version lmao.
As someone who hasn't kept up with patch updates for a very long time, watching Insym speedrun investigations is a nice crash course into learning how the ghosts work now.
Thanks for this! Personally not a fan of grinding, but some of my friends hate that they lost all their items from before, so I'm hoping to secretly grind a lot of exp and money to convince them to join if I just buy everything for them.
Imo, I think after reaching prestige 1 (or even 2, if they don't want legacy players to bypass intended progression), they should remove the level requirements for unlocking higher tier items, MAYBE with the nerf of increasing the unlock costs for the more powerful upgrades. This mostly stems from my hope before the update that when playing in groups with my friends, we'd each be able to focus our money on upgrading different items to get the benefits of more at once, at least as long as we're playing in that group. But now because of the level requirements, all of us will unlock the same upgrades in the same order and buy them at the same time, completely getting rid of any sort of planning or money management as a group, and instead just incentivising leveling up as fast as possible like this video shows how to do.
To be honest, they could even make this change WITHOUT locking it behind a prestige level, I'm just posing that option under the assumption that they WANT there to be an intended progression still.

Also I am a bit disappointed by how high levels you need to reach before unlocking everything. By the time you've done that you're already close to prestiging, and you'll only get to have those items for a short while until you lose them all again. Phasmo drains my irl sanity real fast and I can't play more than like an hour per sitting so it's gonna take forever to unlock stuff (I am somewhere around lvl 23 now)
remember the exponential level curve. You'll be spending more than half of your time with all items unlocked. Also imo it's fun to play with the t1 items sometimes and work your way back up. And if you just want t3 items, just don't prestige.@@leigeorain
@@cable7763 Not really. You still LOSE the items and need to re-buy them all, and if their costs to do the upgrades ate increased to compensate then it can be made more fair. Also- none of the items make you level up any faster outside maybe having some more objectives you can do, so what difference does it make it you get a tier 3 crucifix at level 90 versus level 35? Once you've played the game enough to prestige at least once or twice you're likely not even PLAYING the game for the purpose the progression anymore, you're probably just playing it for the sake of coming up with new and unique challenges using combinations of the equipment and self-imposed rules.
Heck, if you don't think that it should be unlocked after getting prestige 1 or 2, and you agree that they likely won't make it ALWAYS unlockable that way, then can we at least agree that they could make an alternate game mode for users like us that want to play in teams and unlock stuff at different rates? This mode would essentially be designed to NOT contribute to the XP in the main mode, you just have money which can be used to buy any upgrades as soon as you have enough. This way everybody's happy.
Man 'The mimic' is really your most appearing ghost .
You can do this on Grafton with 0 hiding spots. You can use the one behind the chair upstairs. It will also give more money because it's a medium map
Is it a medium map? I thought every map besides school, prison, maple, and sunny full, are same rewards.
If Grafton is more rewards, it's better. If it's same rewards as ridgeview, I'd opt for that. Throw 2 crucifix into door left and right at start, and post up ready to loop at table. Table is a more dangerous loop, but you can dip to the piano or fridge corner, and like Insym says, if you can't identify in 3 hunt just leave with a guess
Nah, Grafton is a small map.
Camp Woodwind is the best one.
There are some group already at Prestige 13. They already did 2x 24h stream and rn in a 18h stream. No one is higher so it should be the best: short time to enter the map + good visability on the ghost.
This would be an effective method for someone with knowledge of the ghost behaviour! And as someone with only 100+ hours this is kinda hard too do and we all want to level up and unlock new items so I think I speak for most people when I say you should make a guide or something detailing how to identify ghosts at least a little bit easier

Try it as team, I have 43 hours and today I did same thing, 2/3 was correct. But I added medium hidden spots. I want to try it again tomorrow. Got something like 7,5k dollars with 3 games (only 515 there the ghost was not identified)

@@RoundShades not only that. One person buys items. Fisrtly, you all got your smudge sticks and then go to house and walk together. You can scout hidden places, or may even spot host during hunt and looked at him, one can use smudge stick to prevent death of the team. Also apart from smudge stick each person can bring: crucifix, paranormal microphone, salt, photo camera (all of this can help with clues that can't be blocked by ghost, also can help with tasks). One person who is buing everything should be be very careful, after he/she used her/his smudge stick. You can install sound microphones in each area and that person who provided everything will observe situation from van. Others will hide in available hidden spots and tried to observe as well. Mb someone will need to saw ghost (you can kite ghost in 1st map around car, of course if it's not super fast ghost). It's good strategy. Just, don't forget to finish all tasks (bone is not that important now).
Unlucky. He got a mimic then directly after i got a mimic. Thought it was a mare because it turned off the light the second i turned it on 😢

a friend of mine sent me this video, we watched the first two rounds of this then tried it together, it was very good fun. I enjoyed doing these "challenge runs" more than playing the standard runs with low tier and now i almost have all T2 main equipment.

Before I saw this video, I was also using my own custom difficulty settings at x8.05
Basically just copy Insym's setting but up the starting sanity to 50 so you can rule out shade and deogen and potentially thaye (if it hunts immediately and its super fast, its a thaye cuz deos hunt at 40)
Also turn on the breaker for Jinn.
I spam this sh*t at Sunny Meadows. Really cool and fun with all the new items and progression. The only bad part i guess is that i got scammed of 10k ingame money cuz level 2 head gear doesnt seem to work and also smudges are broken so rip. Played really safe these past 50 levels haha.
Can the ghost sense the head lamp when it’s on?

I've just been going on apocolypse and narrowing down the ghost as far as I can then randomly picking one that's left, I've done it about 5 times got it right 4 and I'm level 15 now (along with some normal games with friends)

The ghosts I'm dying the most to are Wraiths and Phantoms even though my most common by far has been Raiju
pretty much did this to get the level I wanted before the update (500 legacy levels in 22 hours lol)
Loadout was just 4 smudges, 1 lighter, 1 strong flashlight.
Despite the loadout only a few ghosts could not be determined at all: Goryo, Onryo.
Ghosts I wasn't good at detecting: Wraith, Shade, Goryo, Onryo, Raiju.
The detectable ghosts from easiest to hardest:
Ghosts I could listen to but not hide: Deogen.
Ghosts I could listen to during a hunt or two while hiding and get its footstep BPM: Revenant, Hantu, The Twins, The Mimic, Moroi, Thaye.
Ghosts that speed up when seeing me: Jinn, Revenant.
Ghosts that have special blinking at during a hunt: Phantom, Oni, Obake.
Ghosts that have special behaviour I have to notice: Poltergeist, Mare, Yurei.
Ghosts that needed a smudge timer: Spirit, Demon.
Ghosts that could start hunting near me or on top of me: Wraith, Banshee.

Man that difficulty sounds rough, and as it is currently my whole ghost hunting crew is pretty discouraged by this update. Just seeing how slow it will be leveling up and being stuck with that terrible flashlight and tools. I was hyped for this update but really not any more, didn't expect how slow leveling up would be and just how bad the starter items are.
only some of them are bad, even insym says how some of the tier 1 items dont need to be upgraded at all(matches, thermo,photo cam, glowstick,etc.) You mostly want the defensive items like crucifix and smudges upgraded cause the tier 1 for those has nothing on the higher tiers.
Great, now I cant get it out of my head that the ghost doesnt hunt after being smuged is because its too high to care. Except Demons (anyone who watched A Haunted House understands)

if bored/time open. You can also max reward custom, go to first mission, guess spirit, open/close, and if you get whatever spirit defaults, or what you think it may be, about 4500xp for 30-45 seconds.
Toss on a show or other for matters, can get you through early matters.

banshee scream is the same as before, we got it last night! i tell ya, you make this setup look EASY! i died so many times trying this so we could level up to get the gear unlocked!! lol
Nooo the update fixed Fog on Willow and now you can't really play it without flashlights, I just wanted to recommend even a greedier way to ramp levels, but the way I grinded myself a beautiful level before the reset is not viable anymore
Just me or is directional audio fucked in the new update? Like I will hear the ghost open a door or throw something and it will be in a different direction than the sound
The audio mix has been atrocious for me. My friend was hosting a game (unsure if this has anything to do with it), and my audio was glitched where things would be muffled and randomly on certain parts of a map it would correct itself, or only certain things would be muffled still. It was all over the place. I had to use a parabolic mic in the challenge mode to somehow fix it for the rest of the night (unsure if it is still fixed currently). A restart of the game didn't fix this. And even after the fact, the audio level is everywhere. Ghost hunts especially. Louder than loud breathing from the ghost to where I can barely hear the footsteps. Events being way louder than they should be. Ambient noises being too quiet. Like I said, the mix has been completely messed up.
Im curious if anyone else has noticed abilties seem to be working accross the board much better. Like every mare ive gotten about 10 has instantly killed the lights ive turned and and yuries which ive gotten 4 have properly used there door slamming ability

When I made a good difficulty for grinding, it was basically the same as yours except I had a 2 second grace period because 1 is too deadly.
You should do it with 0 seconds! ;)

I wanted a quick way to level up to get a few of the items like the t2 flashlight, and this has been a very effective way. Im still a noob compared to others but i was able to get about 5-6 lvls in a 30 minute time period (will get faster once i start identifying ghosts like Insym can)

I had been so hyped for the update but: 1x Moroi at 0% with normal speed (which I told Lavender onstream and his reaction was towards "no way, can't be true"), 2x Demon hunting at 90%, ghosts louder than bands at Wacken, Smudge not working properly, lots of glowing plants and stuff, 2 friends with the level 1000 reward on their patch that were far away from being 1000, another friend got denied all of his levels, the wacky ghostbox sounds (I mean...don't get me wrong: I love that they appreciate "their" streamers and content creators, but a normal voice on the box destroys the feeling for me), movement detectors as consumable??, photos of finger prints nearly never detected, used crucifix (dropped directly after entering because of the demon shit i experienced) right after drop, I was able to communicate with random players while i was in a singleplayer lobby twice???, etc etc...that just killed it for me. Guess I will not touch the game for a while now. 😒

I'm looking forward to playing 0 sanity 0 evidence when they've fixed the smudges, they're not working for me.
They're not bugged, they're just no longer global (and have short range) AND you need to hold them while they burn. Most people don't know about it yet...
The only "unfair" thing about it is the anti-chase effect only happening at the initial activation, and not during the whole effect. Meaning if you activate it outside the intended radius (3m for tier 1), even if you're holding it, it won't save you from the ghost (even tho it still "cleanses" rooms that way). You really need to be in range the moment you click it.

me and my friend glitched it some how so we have all cursed possesions and ghost is 50% speed while we are 150% and other stuff, yet we still get 15x rewards
Me and my friend were grinding prepatch to get to lvl69 and we were playing in insanity and yeah, it definitely makes you level up quick

Video is a bit cursed with 1:11:11 time
I'm personally speed running at ~x4.7 with 3 evidence high interaction, since I'm having struggle with no evidence (always get hard normal speed one for some reason, I fail too often or take too much time to find it "efficient", 2500$ for ~8min isn't the best to me).
With 0s grace and 150% ghost speed, 3 evidence its still particularly risky if it's a demon (or demon mimic, had one lmao), else finding the ghost room and getting evidences + objectives goes super fast without a single hunt happening (no dying), I get 1400/1800$ per 2/3 min run consistently.

Does that head-light draw the ghost like a flashlight if you have it on during a hunt? The biggest use for it I can think of, for me at least, is seeing where I'm going when trying to hide from a hunting ghost in multiplayer. I'm very curious whether it does or not since it could defeat the purpose, saving me the 10k when I get there since I'd have no reason to get it. My team doesn't tend to turn lights on much since we usually need them off to collect evidence.
it should seem obvious, since it lists "electronic" in the description, but the tier 1 head cam is also electronic and doesn't affect the ghost, so I don't know what to think.
I hate how 0 evidence 0 sanity is still the meta, a lot of this update has to do with gathering evidence but you’re rewarded so much more for customs that you can do in 3 minutes with no optional objectives or photos. It takes me out of the game when most of the community I see streaming this game or looking for groups on the Discord are just playing these 0 evidence difficulties to speedrun levels.

The modifiers need to scale with map size.
Theres a quicker way on camp woodwind, you crouch behind the huge campfire and the ghost cant hear you, take an smudge for safety, guess the ghost and you get 3k in 2 mins
Just a random thing just happened while I playing phsamo, the tier 3 head cam is so op that has a night vision on it. It’s come from a guy which have 999 levels and he add all the items for us. But I’m thinking he might be hacking cuz how fast he can get 999levels
