As someone how has a few hours in phasmophobia I think me doing prison solo with tier 1 items and guessing the ghost correctly is probably one of my greatest accomplishments in this game

The muffle when using the paramic is quite realistic really. Since when you use paramic your character puts on a headset thus explains why the surrounding sounds are muffled and you can only hear the amplified sounds where the paramic is pointed
Would be nice with more big immersive maps. Be it in height/ more floors and-or width. Haunted castle ( britain have tons ), Hotel ( bigger motel ) for large new maps. For medium? Lighthouse, Tavern/ Inn and Motel. Small maps? Gas station
I want a haunted Hospital. I know it's kinda similar to Asylum/SMMI, but it'd be cool to have a 3/4 storied Hospital Building with bunch of OTs and Pharmacies.
I played a game of brownstone highschool a few minutes ago, the ghost roamed everywhere and I couldnt find the room with THREE other people, the para mic only worked during hunts and the ghost was a yokai... man.. I love phasmo!❤
Something important to remember when using the sound sensors is that they also pick up the sounds from the natural ambience as well. (Ie. the walls creaking and the screams in the asylum)
To be fair, IMO you're just not using the Paramic correctly. You're supposed to be really patient with this thing, point it down a hallway and wait a few seconds to see if it picks up anything, then point it into another direction, wait a few seconds again, etc. You're using it as if it is an EMF or something, walking around and looking everywhere not giving it a chance to actually pick up any audio. And the cone in the T3 Paramic is quite wide, so if the ghost is doing anything in the general direction you're pointing, its very hard to miss it. I've used this thing in the Highschool and Prison maps a few times already and it helped me get to the ghost room very fast, and with the sonar like display you can very accurately predict the ghost room when it picks up a noise. Also this thing is amazing for hearing the ghost during a hunt from a safe distance, in big maps you just hide somewhere safe, point it towards the ghost when its hunting, and you'll hear how fast are its footsteps, the frequency of objects being thrown around, also you'll know exactly where the ghost is with the display, so if it starts getting too close, you just turn it off. You can get a lot of information about the ghost very safely with this thing (on the bigger maps at least).
13:26 the noise that chat saw I believe was the handcuffs being thrown, chat just thought it was in the cell block while it was in that middle room Edit: still only about a 1/3rd of the way through the video so Insym my have said something about it later or on stream, but during the Maple run the noises that had big spikes but didn’t make a sound at the entrance were his footsteps, it can hear your footsteps if it’s close enough to the truck

I think it’d probably help if paramic kept the last three noises it picked up on it’s screen and then maybe it could overwrite the earliest sound, or something to that regard
i knew youd come around to the sound sensors soon. First time i used was on tangle wood and I heard the rocking chair rocking in the basement and was like ?!?!?! I know they arent super necessary on smaller maps but this is a lot less exhausting to just go to the bus and chill and you save tons of sanity.
One thing I noticed in the sounds is that when the 7.1 surround is on, the insym's speech is louder on the right than on the left, but when I turn it off, it sounds both ways.
I wish you could “review” the latest noises in the tier 3 parabolic mic, like it records them so you can hear them again in case you missed them or they lasted half a second, it would make it a-lot more reliable
34:30 If you don't hear the ghost if its value is really far away according to the paramic, it can be the myling. So since a myling's sound has a distance limitation for sound, wouldn't it make sense if some other noises have a distance limitation as well?
I'd say the best map to use the paramic on is the high school. There's just so many rooms that it would actually be faster to just sit in the corner of the map and wait for it to do a paranormal sound, then you can tell if the ghost is on either the right or left side. Then you can take out your thermometer and check every room. That's how I consistently find the ghost on high school. Oh also, from my knowledge, it's not a narrow cone, it practically takes up your whole vision. It's like a 90 degree angle just like the radar shows.
honestly I feel the problem with the paramic is that it’s not good for solo in a group where other people can hear surrounding noises, having one or even two searching for distance noises is really good
With the paramic SOLO I already find ghost rooms faster than with T3 EMF or thermo so idk about that. Here it's just Insym being unlucky with ghost being on other floors + not having any noise even on the right floor. Unlike him, when I enter a house I get whispers or activity in the next 10 seconds. Idk how Insym isn't picking up anything; it's unreal to me. As I mentionned the only weakness is if the ghost is on a different floor: with the muffling you don't hear other floors noises, when without it you'd at least hear them faintly.. which makes no sense? It should at least play these sounds, without locating them necessarily (so at least you'd know it's on another floor)
Funny how i watched you on twitch like 4 years ago when you were playing multiplayer terraria calamity. Then a year ago i saw a vid of you playing observation duty 1 and recognized the channel picture
The first game with the firelight going out the first time was because you switched to the camera. When you switch items it blows out the candle/lantern.
i really think insym is dramatically overplaying the muffling, i can still clearly hear things behind me when using paramic, it actually helps by telling me if a sound came from paramic or directly behind me.
i would absolutely love them to do a small-medium sized school map. Where i came from, the schools are fairly small and nothing like the big schools like in the movies or this map. THAT would absolutely rock. also with more interactibles please
The para-microphone honestly is useless on small maps as you can just walk around the place to listen for noises instead lol. But when it’s a big map, the para-microphone might be useful in tracking down the ghost room if you’re struggling to find any nearby ghost activity or hear anything. So the para-mic mostly have use in big maps.

I just always thought that paramic shouldn't be *overall* better to find the ghost than your eyes and ears, just *safer*, cause you can detect the ghost from afar, slow and methodical, staying in the light, keeping your sanity high, and then staying safe distance from the ghost room, still close enough to check for evidence when it does something. Imagine truck+paramic duo solving big maps without a single hunt most of the runs. But they should definitely fix visual indication for T3. They would never sell this thing IRL, should keep soundprint at least for 3-5 seconds, otherwise it's just non-functional. I would call tech support so fast the payment for this thing would not have reached the bank yet.
Hey Insym, I know you don't like how janky the VR mode in phasmo, but don't you want to try every new item in VR mode? especially with tier 3 video camera / Head Cam XD
I think, what the motion sensor tier 3 should do, is stay static, until the Ghost get into the range, to then Track it all around with the light until the ghost Leave the area... Instead just spinning around and randomly shooting.
sometimes his complaints and excuses about everything being "bugged" sound more like the devs have thought of how players like him could pull exploits and took steps to make sure they couldn't so Insym gets mad lol.

17:53 The singing ghost events place the interaction and the location at which you take a ghost photo at head level, and every other ghost event places them at foot level. You can verify this with the new t3 EMF. The dot will be solid while standing at a singing event, but only solid while crouching at any other event. The ghost being a crawling ghost doesn't affect these positions. You still have to aim your photo camera at a standing head level for that particular event you got, and lower down for any other event. It's stupid. Phasmophobia is filled with these types of lacks of foresight and inconsistencies. It amazes me that they don't think of these things ahead of time in testing, and fix them before they're even broken.
Insym is it possible that the lights being out, making it extremely dark when you took the prison photo could be why you get 2 stars instead of 3? You can obviously see how close itnis because of the head cam that makes the room brighter. But ive been watching your videos of the update and alot of the 2 stars i think you get happen when its extremely dark since they lowered the brightness. Juat a thought, love your videos.

I don't think you can with the T3 firelight. I had an Onryo today and I place 3 of those on a table inside the ghost room, he quickly blew out the 3 firelights one after another. I then took a photo with all 3 in the frame (EMF still beeping) and it gave me nothing on that photo. I think it's just bugged with the T3 firelight, because I remember being able to take photos of blown out candles just fine
i cant tell when his mic is on/being picked up ingame or if only we can hear it and its making me paranoid whether or not hes putting himself in danger when theres a hunt

Have we tested to see if the NVG attract the ghost like a flashlight does? I don't understand how thats an upgrade from tier 2 head cam if NVG still attracts the ghost.
Also, important to sound sensor is paying attention to when there's an overlap in the sound sensor coverage because then if one sensor shows a sound but something it overlaps with doesn't, you've narrowed it down some.

Bragging rights to show how many times you've leveled up. It starts the progress of unlocking all the items all over again, but other then that nothing else.
Right now only bragging rights, and some cool badges for your ghost hunter card. In the future I believe there are going to be character cosmetics that you unlock with each prestige, but that's probably going to take a while to be in the game.
This is shooting in the dark, but maybe they should have ditched linear progression for buying specialized items instead. The motion sensor is a great point, because tier 2 compared to tier 1 is a direct upgrade, but tier 3 really isn't an upgrade. Tier 2 and 3 have unique uses in different situations. I think they could have benefitted from not making it seem like every new tier is an upgrade, and instead making it so that each item has a specialized use. It also solves the problem of tier 1 being absolute torture due to low interaction rates.

What do you think of the idea of the tier 1 and 2 spirit box using the more accurate to "irl" ghost hunting thing, where it's just a radio modified to scan back and forth with the ghosts responses being random peoples voices, with the tier 3 being a dedicated, specialized device made by the ghost hunting company that can pickup the ghosts actual voice?

Challenge idea, Insym cant leave the truck and has to figure out the ghost by someone elses headcam. The streamer becomes the viewer. Probably best to not do it back to back as it would probably get kinda boring
Insym talked and looked away at his chat while using the Paramic, missed multiple sound cues for doing that, and then complained about how bad the Paramic is. That is so annoying.
As an irl ghost hunter, I think parabolic mics are useless. Yes you may get something paranormal through it but you'll be picking up other things as well and therefore you have to debunk whatever you get. As far as the game, the only time I use it is for the objective, otherwise it serves no purpose

First Cursed hunt you can just drop the crux and play the box, that one was on you as obviously you approached the ghost area

honestly i found using cone version of sound sensors to be useful to figure out where ghost is and accurately.

Bragging rights to show how many times you've leveled up. It starts the progress of unlocking all the items all over again, but other then that nothing else.
Right now only bragging rights, and some cool badges for your ghost hunter card. In the future I believe there are going to be character cosmetics that you unlock with each prestige, but that's probably going to take a while to be in the game.
This is shooting in the dark, but maybe they should have ditched linear progression for buying specialized items instead. The motion sensor is a great point, because tier 2 compared to tier 1 is a direct upgrade, but tier 3 really isn't an upgrade. Tier 2 and 3 have unique uses in different situations. I think they could have benefitted from not making it seem like every new tier is an upgrade, and instead making it so that each item has a specialized use. It also solves the problem of tier 1 being absolute torture due to low interaction rates.

For some reason I don't like how the spirit box doesn't sound ghost like.
What do you think of the idea of the tier 1 and 2 spirit box using the more accurate to "irl" ghost hunting thing, where it's just a radio modified to scan back and forth with the ghosts responses being random peoples voices, with the tier 3 being a dedicated, specialized device made by the ghost hunting company that can pickup the ghosts actual voice?

Challenge idea, Insym cant leave the truck and has to figure out the ghost by someone elses headcam. The streamer becomes the viewer. Probably best to not do it back to back as it would probably get kinda boring

Insym talked and looked away at his chat while using the Paramic, missed multiple sound cues for doing that, and then complained about how bad the Paramic is. That is so annoying.

As an irl ghost hunter, I think parabolic mics are useless. Yes you may get something paranormal through it but you'll be picking up other things as well and therefore you have to debunk whatever you get. As far as the game, the only time I use it is for the objective, otherwise it serves no purpose
