I love all Impalas of all years. But my favorite is the 95 or the 96s. My mom and dad always had a 73 impala. They have owned like seven or eight 73 Impalas. I can always remember riding in those old cars. I was embarrassed riding in them as a kid. I remember racing the 73 two door hard top they had. I blew the motor up in it and didn't tell my parents until years later that I blew it up from racing on the interstate going over 120mph.
I believe that you could unhook the speedo cable at the cruise control unit in the 80's and 90's GM cars and that would kill the speedometer but the tach would still work. You could judge your speed back then by the RPM's. Buyer beware Richard!
TW would call bs and walk away from that used car salesman. That car has seen some water and has had enough years to dry out from it and let the rust set in.
The Impala could have low mileage, but doubtfully the number claimed. The rust is a giveaway, since they are far from the coast, and the car was supposedly stored in a garage.
@@ddog5347 do you consider Dallas close to the coast? I live near the coast, less than 10 km from the Ocean, and know well the corrosion effects of the salty air. I've seen cars with low mileage, parked in not well insulated garages get rusted.
@@ddog5347 dumb is thinking it is low mileage without question. Or even considering the system was temporarily turned off. Plenty of cases of odometer tampering with classic cars.
I did Autoglass for a living back then. The windshields delaminated from weatherstripping flutter and vibration at speed. (The pickups of the same era also) I've never seen an undriven car do that. Ifind it extremely hard to believe it only has 200 miles
I think the big dude can now add car salesman to his business card along side car buyer. I had to hold back from jumping forward I was so sure the deal was going south.
What was with the swindler salesman going for a sack adjustment every 15 seconds? Also, I've never seen Richard so unsure of something. If you took a drink for every time he asked Kenny "what do you think", you wouldn't be able to stand.

That dealership put those new tires on and priced out dry ice. They knew the mileage didnt add up. They been trying to sell it before they called Richard
I thought Richard would pass on this one. He said the highest price paid recently, for a comparable car 32k. It sure sounded like he paid over 30, now he's got a laundry list of between 3 to 5 k. Maybe he knows a guy that collects Chevy's. An auction would be very risky though. 🍺 Good luck 🍻
Math Man says there are only 7.5 years of 1/4-mile-Church-going Sundays (196*2/52) on that car -- if you ignore any other trips for service, delivery, etc.
The best part of these cars was how easy it was to take the cluster out of it. Take the cluster out of it when it's new and replace it with a another cluster. When you are ready to sell it, just swap the original cluster back in and you have a 196 mile 1996 Impala SS! No computers in the car tracking miles anywhere other than the odometer.
illegal but facts. Japan importers are doing MAD cluster swaps on imports, its a dangerous game to play unless documented and the car actually reflects the mileage.. this one doesnt lol.
@@10RRASK good point, thing is they didn't. So now the potential buyer can walk away or not. I get the point, a car dealership changed tires, yes it sounds suspicious, overly so. If I was the seller and they were really bad, maybe they were, I would want to avoid the liability and not risk a dryrot blowout. I am not overly trusting,, just cautious
You would think if he had receipts for everything the tire change would be there. Call the shop and they will remember changing those tires on such a low mileage car? If they don't remember it ..... move on.
The guy selling the car don't even know what motor is in it. It's an lt1 v8 with like 260 horses. The ls1 came out couple yrs later with about 350 horses
Lol any dude that does that every 3minutes gives vibes of a bullshitter. The first dude with beard and big dude have that cocky used car salesman vibe like if they want you to beg them to sell a car to you.
I always check brake pedals gas pedals I know people notice change those nowadays but the inside of that trunk has a nice lid Sheen to it, there is a way to request the mileage off of the computer I do believe. As far as the seats still being that nice that is a bonus, the drivers outer panel always seems to be worn out from sliding in and out, so when I see nice seats I always look to see if the bolts on the seats have a mess with lately, and they may have for cleaning the carpet sometimes I can go on and on but I won't
I’ve never seen anyone nitpick a car with 150 miles on it…nice sales tactic. Richard said he was looking for something that could prove the mileage, but was looking in the trunk 😂
I would look in the trunk too. And everywhere else. I ask more questions about and look harder at low mileage vehicles than higher mileage vehicles. With low mileage, I'd be looking for signs of wear, parts that don't match, colours that don't match. I'd look at the spare, the jack and anything else - are they there, have they been used, are they the right ones? If I see something that doesn't match the story, I'd be asking questions, or just walking away (which is what I think Richard should have done with this one).
I had the same gut feeling with a 1971 Ford Consul Granada I viewed a few years back in the UK and I walked away only to purchase it two years later at a cheaper price. Trust your gut feeling.

Not to mention he was an idiot about the car. Kept saying it had an LS. It’s an LT-1.
I think that's the first time I saw Richard get out sold.
I like the video Richard Rawlings. Just beware of shady car salesmen. I did not like that car salesman he did not even get you the right beer.
You know what else we don't see everyday? Richard wearing a hat
Seems as if everyone missed that fact.
he must of forgot his toupee
He's trying to be a hipster like chase lol
@@bobbylincoln7869 🤣🤣🤣
Must have been having a bad hair day.
I believe that you could unhook the speedo cable at the cruise control unit in the 80's and 90's GM cars and that would kill the speedometer but the tach would still work. You could judge your speed back then by the RPM's. Buyer beware Richard!
How many others where screaming. ITS NOT A LS1!!! 😂
I almost threw my phone...
After reading the comments, EVERYONE 🤣
Good luck with that one Richard.
After all these years of following the show, Richard Rawlings has finally transitioned into Thomas Weeks.
🤣😂
TW could talk the walk
Not junkie enough
TW would call bs and walk away from that used car salesman. That car has seen some water and has had enough years to dry out from it and let the rust set in.
I've had 6 of these cars and I love them so much, but something ain't right
The Impala could have low mileage, but doubtfully the number claimed. The rust is a giveaway, since they are far from the coast, and the car was supposedly stored in a garage.
Far from the coast. Did you watch the video
That car was built in Arlington Texas a mile from the Cowboys stadium.
@@ddog5347 do you consider Dallas close to the coast? I live near the coast, less than 10 km from the Ocean, and know well the corrosion effects of the salty air. I've seen cars with low mileage, parked in not well insulated garages get rusted.
@@RogerM88 the cars not from Dallas smart guy. Rewatch it and maybe won’t look dumb
Lol I saw that too
"it'll buff out" - every used car salesman ever
All it needs is a really good wash and shine and she'll be brand new!
@@GasMonkeyGarage 🤔
Dang never did I ever imagine ide see Richard get finessed like that salesman did 😆
Indeed it is sad to see it happen to triple R.
Yeah but what this dealership doesn’t know is that when you screw Over Richard Rawlings his word means alot lol 😂. Cost them a lot of business too if do him dirty
Where's chase? Haven't seen him in the last few videos.
This dude is overselling it at the end. That guys knows more about this car than he’s sharing.
I have my doubts this only has 200 miles based on what Richard is seeing
Can’t persuade Richard with beer and NOT get him what he normally drinks bro! Hahaha
That car has an Lt1 Engine, ls1 started in 97 in the Corvette, 98 in the F body. Those impala SS are cool!
Anyone else notice the tire at 10:12 was mounted the wrong direction?
P.S. I think you got taken for a loop on this one...lol
If I was ever to buy a car in Texas I wouldn't go to them...2 pushy...
"Too." Not "to."
@@pastywhite6669 Better?
That dealership put those new tires on and priced out dry ice. They knew the mileage didnt add up. They been trying to sell it before they called Richard
It doesn’t matter what the mileage is, it’s always xxxx original miles 😂
🤣😂
New fan/viewer of your channel. It’s pretty freaking amazing to see what you accomplished with these vehicles and deserve to be recycled.
How many times is the car salesman going to say "he drove it to church" 😂
He says it on every car he sells
One of the best looking cars on the street!
Raced one of these with my 95 STS. COMPLETELY blew its doors off. Ive had alot of cars that 95 STS was insane.
Math Man says there are only 7.5 years of 1/4-mile-Church-going Sundays (196*2/52) on that car -- if you ignore any other trips for service, delivery, etc.
Yeah Richard is the first looker but I feel like they called around and Richard offered the most
Richard looked like he got pressured into the buying.
You always gotta go with your gut. If your unsure, pass on by. That's my opinion anyway
Love this car. I have a 94’. Rich, lucky for me they only made black!
It could have driven 50 miles, if it wasn't vacuumed, washed and stored correctly then 50 miles may as well be 50000 miles.
Richard should get a negotiator that no one ever sees so he can get a better deal and not get taken. The 1996 Chevy Impala SS is only worth $20k.
The fact the tires were changed says it all.
Why, because someone wanted to be safe, with non dry rotted tires?
@@annathemaanderson4448 safe from what exactly??
The high milage driven daily???
Something with 200 miles should still have the original tires, leave it to the new owner to decide if they want to actually drive it.
If they don't remember it ..... move on.
Dude definitely changed the got darn tires before Richard seen it.
I don’t believe this car has less then 200 miles the seat tells the real story
What if the owner just sit in it alot admiring it but not driving it though that's a possibility.
96 was the year to have. It had the center console shifter
LT1--V8 --> I have a 1996 9C1 and it's the best car ever! My first question would be --> Where are the original tires?
Only takes 1 coors light to make Richard fold.
Have we found Richard's Kryptonite?!
@@GasMonkeyGarage This non-salesman who only buys cars seems to think it is
The guy selling the car don't even know what motor is in it. It's an lt1 v8 with like 260 horses. The ls1 came out couple yrs later with about 350 horses
Dang bro why does this guy keep on bending his dang knees killing the content much love from San Antonio Richard and crew!!!
that's his "i am going to swindle richard rawlings out of cash excitement" look
Lol any dude that does that every 3minutes gives vibes of a bullshitter. The first dude with beard and big dude have that cocky used car salesman vibe like if they want you to beg them to sell a car to you.
@@luish777 but he's not a salesman 🤣
I don’t know what it is but these dudes selling the impala kinda rub me the wrong way. Like your typical used car dealers. 😂
Richard was the guy he said to call on this🤣🤣🤣🤣 I definitely would of call Dennis Collins
Ty GMG!
The only impala SS in my book is from 1961-68 anything after is not special for me
I love these cars. I like marauders more though, just because they look a little cooler. However, this is a hell of a pick up.
That car is "way" far from cool. Come On! It's a Grandpa Car.
KENNY chief mechanic now!Chase hasn't been seen since he had to sub Richard in arkansas
Sub? What is that?
He lent him money

Dude keeps saying ls1 it’s an lt1
Go with your gut Richard. Rolled back
Pass on it. Somebody turned the miles back on that car.
Hey Richard, i got beach front property in Arizona if your interested…🤣🤣
Those seat wrinkles are definitely suspicious I do upholstery I own a upholstery shop
And them wrinkles look like 300 pound guy for about 5,000 miles worth
I was looking at the same thing man, those wrinkles dont lie, imo. Either way i think it has max 10.000 to 15.000 miles. Car looks good.
I'm a RUclips neurosurgeon
Something just doesn't add up. I'm thinking the used car salesman swapped the low mileage drivers seats, carpet and wheels and tires and installed them on his higher mileage Impala he acquired from the old man.
Drove until recently, but tires were dry rotted? 🤔🤨

There is a place just outside North view Missouri
That has a bunch of old cars and trucks
