I used to work at KFC, the only reson I ate it is cause sometimes I got so sick of everything else that I stopped caring. How it's "made". We take a frozen tray of it, let it sit on a rolling tray thing till it defrosts, and slop that into a container. That alone grosses me out. Then, we re-freeze it till we need it. All texture? Gone. When we need it, we stick it in the microvave to defrost THE WHOLE THING AT ONCE. If you care at all, you stir it (I tried REALLY hard to heat up as best I could). If you don't, you leave for 7 minutes (it doesn't rotate, there no turn table) till there's burnt spots and dry edges, dump hot water on it to pretend its saucy, and bring it stright to the line to serve. I've seen all these people freaking out that the gravy comes in powder form and the mashed potatoes are basically instant, but the MAC AND CHEESE is the real abomination. In the 1960's, you had KFC get franchised by John Y. Brown. Jerricho had a chain of restaurants similar to Frisch's, stayed around into the early 1980's. A few are still around, independently owned and still popular with the locals where they exist. Jerricho tried to diversify and started Long John Silver's. It was modeled after "Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips," who was an actor. He was the bobby in "Mary Poppins." Treacher's didn't last long, but LJS took off and quickly dwarfed the Jerry's segment of the business, leading to Jerry's mostly going away. That comes in real handy for your kids while they are out digging up worms for fishing or you needing a food utensil in a hurry because, let's say, you just saw Bigfoot and he wants to eat your food but he is not fork trained.
I am from New Zealand, and when I was a kid, and saw written reference to Chick-Fill-A, I always thought it was pronounced "Chick Filler" and could never work out why such a popular chain had such a weird name.

Firehouse subs distributors changed the amount of ounces of the mixture. Less noodles more sauce. It has to sit more and most of the workers don't let it sit. Also, the new (china virus ) approved was on the side breadcrumbs. I always ignored it and told anyone one the register to ask if they wanted breadcrumb (cough croutons) and had them put on. (Those got discontinued as well). Mac and cheese should be in the smaller bowl and less people would return in. I can't eat it, but when the stores had cherry peppers, my friends would doctor it up with them, salt/pepper, and more cheese

If you ever get to Flagstaff AZ. try Satchmo's. They have a very cheesy mac and cheese that they put in a glass bowl, sprinkle parmesan cheese on top, then put in their smoker until it crisps up. It is a whole higher level of mac and cheese. If you are into mac and cheese with "extras", and in Springerville AZ. hit up Avery's just east of town, where the Union 76 station is at. They mix in green chilies and smoked chicken. It is unreal. But I have to admit the best restaurant mac and cheese I have ever had was the Cheese Cake Factory. Whether a side dish or the fried mac and cheese appetizer it is the best in my humble opinion.

I still like it, call me insane, but it just tastes comfortable in a way.
YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU HAD ONE THING TO PUT IN THE BAG!
Stouffer's makes Panera Mac and Cheese. I guess nothing comes closer to home.
😂👍🏽
They used to make Walmart deli's
"Shells are the superior noodle"
Me: *blows the screen a kiss*
Any competition involving Chic FIL A is a battle for 2nd place.
Unless it's their "dry as hell" biscuits. Matt's words, not mine.
Is that because CFA is firmly in third?
Popeyes and even BK have better chicken sandwiches so I'm not sure what you're talking about.
In terms of sandwiches, I'd put chic fil a in dead last. Zaxbys is superior in every way.
@@ManyBothansDied Yeah. Their biscuits suck but so does Bojangles biscuits. Church's takes first place there to me- sorry not sorry.
Chick-fil-a mac and cheese is amazing...add some nuggets !! Heaven
I love how Matt puts a divide in the rankings.
As a post supervisor that proofs all our editor's work, that misspelling in Captain D's tweaked me out, big time.
Win xp shutdown sound with the Mac waiting spiral…perfect
Dangit Matt! Now I want Mac & cheese! I love Chic fil a, but as much as Panera ticks me off by taking forever to make coffee, now I have to try the Mac & cheese. Look for a response video soon!
Shells are ok but I prefer the ridged elbows they hold a huge pocket of molten cheese
We really need more of these I have missed this so much
As a resident of Huntsville, AL I can 100% confirm that statement.
You're doing God's work ya'll. There is nothing more important than Mac and Cheese.
Its y'all not ya'll
I love Chick-fil-a's macaroni and cheese. I am bit biased though as a Chick-fil-a employee. And yes they put the macaroni and cheese in the oven. And they put 3 cheeses on the mac and cheese. And you can order a large macaroni and cheese.
this is valuable information, thank you!
@@mgratk You're welcome!
The spork is actually the most beneficial as it combines two utensils in one. That comes in real handy for your kids while they are out digging up worms for fishing or you needing a food utensil in a hurry because, let's say, you just saw Bigfoot and he wants to eat your food but he is not fork trained.
😞sad foon noises...
Id love to see a "premade chili" bless your rank. One of them needs to be frozen skyline.
Yes i am that kind of evil
Skyline at least the frozen container kind is gross, would rather eat Hormel.
I'm from Cincinnati, home of skyline chili, and I love that I can buy cans and frozen containers of it down here.
I'm pretty excited I cam across your channel!
I'll never be able to eat kraft dinner again after seeing big birds face in it
I am from New Zealand, and when I was a kid, and saw written reference to Chick-Fill-A, I always thought it was pronounced "Chick Filler" and could never work out why such a popular chain had such a weird name.
I used to work at kfc. The mac & cheese is baked, it comes pre-made in a foil pan. They bake it, then scoop it into the cups. It is garbage tho lol
Lol
"It has to taste good because that is how food works." Nicely done my man! I have a tactical spork, they are real and it is grand. I use it for camping and fishing and yes it is super useful even comes apart to use as a knife to stab a mean squirrel or crazy possum if you need to. Stay away from my tactical spork...lol
My rank of chain restaurant mac and cheese I've had that nobody asked me to write.
1. Kick Back Jacks
2. Bojangles
3. Outback (literally the only thing I eat at outback)
4. Panera
5. Chick Fil A
6. Cheesecake factory
7. Mcallister's
8. KFC
I love Matt!!!! A fellow Alabamian, and everything he says all of Alabama is agreeing with him….. well the born and raised ones.
I’m not a potluck member but I would like to see him rank fast food gravy
I think Popeye's quit carrying the mashed potatoes and cajun gravy, so this would be interesting to see
We still have it at ours, but they quit doing green beans. Sunday dinner is ruined.
Evidently, I've been sleeping on the Bojangles Mac + Cheese. But I knew it with the CFA + Panera. My 2 favs. ❤️
Try QuikTrip mac
YES. shells are 100% better then elbows could ever be
I used rotini a while ago because I was out of elbow macaroni. All those ridges hold a lot of cheese sauce.
I like sponge Bob's. That holds a lot of cheese 🧀
All the sauce/cheese trapped in those little horns, yep.
"I'm gonna turn this country around" 😂
YESSS! This is everything I needed right now
There's a local Restaurant around Augusta Georgia, called The Wife Saver, that has some good fried chicken and good sides with other meals
Love this channel!! You are awesome Matt!! 😂😂💜💜
I’m glad you included Panera. It’s my son’s favorite.
“This is whiter than a Zac Brown Band concert” LMFAO. Love me some ZBB. Saw them live 13 times and seeing them for my 14th time at Wrigley Field in Chicago over the summer
“This is America and we don’t do ties.” Yeah, in the words of Ted Lasso, “We are not playing for a tie! Ain’t nobody here gonna kiss their sister!” Also in the words of Ted Lasso, "If God wanted games to end in a tie, she wouldn't have invented numbers."
America is also about having Options too.
I live in Huntsville. And that comment about the Zac Brown concert is one of the funniest things you’ve ever said!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Y’all should do a video on how southern people are amazing at Carrying conversation. You could go to ask them a question and somehow you will have a conversation for like two hours.
I just subscribed because of his personality.
Actually the KFC headquarters really is in Louisville, Kentucky.
Yep. I live in Kentucky and live down the street from a KFC. I haven't eaten there since 2010.
Bless your rank is back!!!
My favorite is the unholy mixture that Church's Chicken sells.
