This was one of my late wife's favourite, although tinged with sadness when I hear it, it always brings back happy memories of us falling in love with each other. Just love it ❤️
Unforgettable moments.... wonderful times, the sixties and seventies... quality music... times when everything was much more relaxed. Big contrast to today's society...! Crispian St.Peters... pure youth sentiment...!
Crispian rendition of this song is not bad but I prefer the We Five version: ruclips.net/video/uZtM7rkJVno/видео.html&start_radio=1 As for the sixties and seventies being wonderful times, that is debatable: the Vietnam War wasn't fun, the draft, Watergate, the hyperinflation of the mid- and late 1970s, the gasoline crisis of the mid-1970s, just to name a few bothersome details about those bad old days.
The first album I ever bought as as young teenager. I bought the album because of the song the pied piper that I loved. When I heard this song I loved it to. Years later after hearing lots of renditions of it It was written by Silvia from Alberta Ian and Silvia . Excellent song Thanks Cristian St Peter.

Me too. Cost me 1 shilling. About 5 UK pence now. Bought it from John Lewis record department, Liverpool. THE place to be in the sixties for modern music. Great times
Now you see, this is one of the things music is supposed to do, namely, bring back memories and feelings of long ago. It's why I can't understand the popularity of high-end production music videos. In my opinion, they are a detraction. The same piece of music will elicit different emotions from person to person and I don't understand how a video plays any role in this. I can appreciate videos that simply show musicians playing, including playing in some unique setting. There have always been those kinds of videos. What I don't understand are the big production numbers that try to tell the story, often in an absurd way. When I hear songs from long ago, or even not so long ago, it typically takes me back to what I was doing at the time, the people I might have known, and various aspects of my life back then. It most certainly NEVER makes me think of the music video.
The sound in the music video is better than when you listen to the studio version of this song. That's why i was waiting for the video like the frozen Eskimo for the sun :) and now it's here
It's nice to hear a different version of this song by Crispian Saint Peters. The original of course was by Ian and Sylvia, and really popularized by the group We Five.
This was THE version that was played in the UK - I'd never heard the original or US hit versions until today ...I don't feel I've missed out, as these both pale to insignificance against Crispian St Peters' version.
When I woke up this morning You were on my mind And you were on my mind I got troubles, whoa-oh I got worries, whoa-oh I got wounds to bind So I went to the corner Just to ease my pains Yeah, just to ease my pains I got troubles, whoa-oh I got worries, whoa-oh I came home again When I woke up this morning You were on my mi-i-i-ind and You were on my mind I got troubles, whoa-oh I got worries, whoa-oh I got wounds to bind And I got a feelin' Down in my sho-oo-oo-oes, said Way down in my sho-oo-oes Yeah, I got to ramble, whoa-oh I got to move on, whoa-oh I got to walk away my blues When I woke up this morning You were on my mind You were on my mind I got troubles, whoa-oh I got worries, whoa-oh I got wounds to bind Traduire en français

The joy of RUclips to throw up these wonderful songs that I had long forgotten about.

You are always on my mind. My first thought when I wake. Last thought before I close my eyes at night. Love my Geordie. The best of life now!
I only stumbled on this song recently (2023) and wow I love it!!!!
I loved this song as a kid and still love it. Crispin was a great singer and really different to the 60’s mainstream.
This song never gets old
This was playing on 29 January 1966 at the Normanby Eston when I met my beautiful future wife and 54 years later still together

Timeless Classic.
When I woke up this morning
You were on my mind
And you were on my mind
I got troubles, whoa-oh
I got worries, whoa-oh
I got wounds to bind
So I went to the corner
Just to ease my pains
Yeah, just to ease my pains
I got troubles, whoa-oh
I got worries, whoa-oh
I came home again
When I woke up this morning
You were on my mi-i-i-ind and
You were on my mind
I got troubles, whoa-oh
I got worries, whoa-oh
I got wounds to bind
And I got a feelin'
Down in my sho-oo-oo-oes, said
Way down in my sho-oo-oes
Yeah, I got to ramble, whoa-oh
I got to move on, whoa-oh
I got to walk away my blues
When I woke up this morning
You were on my mind
You were on my mind
I got troubles, whoa-oh
I got worries, whoa-oh
I got wounds to bind

My favorite song by Mr. St. Peter's is the long obscure "Your Ever Changin' Mind"
It still sounds good now class
It’s a timeless song real classic
It was originally recorded by Ian & Sylvia, but better known versions were recorded by We Five and Crispian St. Peters. The song was written in a bathtub in a suite at the Hotel Earle in Greenwich Village. Fricker wrote it-her first composition-in the bathroom because "it was the only place the cockroaches would not go".
"We Five" recorded this in 1965, but I like this version better, as it is slower.
