Hey man super helpful video, I got a secondhand aorus waterforce in which the AIO pump was dying, I would get 2-3 hours of 70-80c then it would skyrocket to close to 100c, and the noise was an absolute dealbreaker. I did some research, and looking at your installation video, and it seems the aorus 1080ti is close enough (if not identical) to reference to fit the morpheus 2, ordered it and now we wait. Many thanks!
So glad our videos were helpful! Looking at the Aorus 1080ti PCB it has some minor differences to my card, but it still seems like the Morpheus 2 should be a good match :)
@@techiedoodledoo Update, got mine today, fitted it and it works! Not getting the same temps as you but that is probably due to case airflow, fans and maybe a not so snug fit. My Aorus 1080ti has some chiplets in the back, exactly behind the main chip so the "X" shaped attachment was a bit tricky to get, and I had to make sure to not overthighten it as to not cause any damage. Big thanks again!
Hey bro. That is a nice review on that air cooler. Good job. I found it by accident looking for some other information. I had not heard of the Morpheus II cooler before. Where are you from? Norway?
@@techiedoodledoo wonderful. My wife is of Norwegian descent and I have a really good friend in Norway. I will be sure I let him know about your RUclips channel. He is a PC enthusiast like both of us.
It cools the GPU very well but my RX 570 heated up elsewhere, especially around the VRM's, so the board ending up getting hotter because the heatsink didn't cover those parts. That's the issue with custom coolers these days, they maybe work will on the GPU die, but DDR6 RAM and VRM's need cooling these days too, and I don't feel a simple stuck on heatsink is good enough.
Very nice. I'm actually looking to maybe repaste, or just change the cooler on my GTX 1080 (Asus ROG strix) that I have, as I feel the temps are pretty high (although I don't know how good my airflow in my case actually is, as it's a bit hard to test... :/
I would start by changing the thermal paste on the stock cooler that you already have to see if it gets better, since it's much cheaper to test this first than buying a new cooler. And if you have a glass/plexi side panel on your case, you could tape a piece of paper inside to get a visual impression on the amount of airflow.
@@techiedoodledoo Thanks! Should I just repaste or should I look into changing the thermal pads as well? Well, that's the problem, I don't have a glass/plexi side panel on my case.. so checking the airflow is a bit hard :/
I'm pretty disappointed with the mounting for the heat sinks honestly. They don't feel like they're going to stay mounted well and I'm going to have no warning when they fall off other than hot components that aren't monitored.
Use heatsink plaster dude also the trick to removing them in the future is to put the gpu in the freezer for 2-3 hours that makes the plaster brittle and they just snap of the memory with no problem at all!
wow the results are unbelievable
The best aftermarket cooler is actually any full cover GPU waterblock - Great review :)
