Andrew, I really love your videos. Really practical for me and you have great SEO. Keep going champ. It's only a matter of time before your channel blows up.
Stumped. They sounded close enough to the same for me. I might argue that the SM7B had a little bit better response in the lower range, but that could just be my imagination. Thanks for sharing this great tip. Can't wait to see what other tricks you've got in your bag.
I thought about that after the fact since the RK345 makes a big difference, you’re right I should have included that. I did include it in a prior video and I’m a little annoyed with myself for not doing it on this video too. But the RK345 does make a massive difference
I see some people use a shock mount for this mic. Do you think it is needed or when is it needed? I just ordered the filter you talked about. Thank you!
in an ideal world yes you should, particularly if you're typing when using it. So really yes I should given the low cost, I was just being lazy not setting one up
Do you know if the MV7 usb can be plugged straight into the Osmo action 4 camera? I have the camera and am now looking at the shure mic as an option for good sound recording.
The MV7X is exactly the same mic but with XLR connection only, the MV7 is both USB and XLR. From a audio standpoint there is no difference in audio ability.
There really isn’t much difference between the two or yes? I’m thinking of buying one of the two but I would like to save money since it costs almost double the price. But I also want something very good. That’s why I would like to know if there is a big difference or the truth not so much.
Here's what I think. If I wanted to show off on RUclips I'd get the SM7B. If I wanted just to sound good and not spend as much I'd get the MV7 with the RK345 pop filter as I detailed. The SM7B can be made louder with a Cloudlifter or Fethead, but that's more cost on top the mic and the audio interface. My advice is save your money and get the MV7

the big difference is how much money you have left in your pocket. I've lots of tips like this and always working out more
sounds close for sure. seems odd to omit a direct comparison between original filter and rk345 n the MV7 though??

What about the MV7X? How do you think it stands up to the MV7 & SM7B with and without the Mod?

@@CourseBuildersAcademy Perfect! Thanks a lot 🙏🏼
Our thoughts exactly. That is what I did.

I got the shure X2U lifter
The mv7 lacks the warmth of the sm7b. A boost around 220 hz could fix that.
