The Ten Rings organization have played a major role within the MCU from Iron Man to Shang-Chi, and while that role was not always apparent and obvious, they were working behind the scenes and their machinations shaped the very world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it. In today’s video, I will be covering the organization’s entire history within the MCU as we know it. That means I will not be discussing the comic book organization or any other version that is not canon to the MCU, so with that being said, let’s get into it.

Only thing weird here is that Iron Man didn't really damaged the Ten Rings or "beheaded" its leadership like the other 2 did, so we missed out on the Real Mandarin vs Iron Man fight.
@@forickgrimaldus8301 well I can say Wenwu was insulted a lot. First movie His forces stomped by Iron Man, then Obadiah betrayed Ten Rings. In Iron Man 3, His name is pretty much stolen by the Manager of A.I.M. He lost his chance to take revenge after Iron Man 3 if you ask me, He passed his league and would have kill Wenwu easily.

Iron Man 3: Same thing, he did took in the Actor as a court jester so yeah not really that bad.
Though Wenwu would probably be a challenge to Iron Man even after Civil War as he was defeated by Cap with the aid of Bucky and as seen in Shang Chi The Mandarin is as strong as Cap with the rings but by Infinity war and Endgame yeah Tony would be too OP for Wenwu. (Wu was basically nerfed for the movie as he is as strong as Dr Strange in the comics.)

@@KeyIssues I mean Akwafina did say shang Chi landed a big Kamehameha, and Dragon Ball is based on Journey to the west a Chinese Novel, and Dragons are a big simbol in chinese mythology so Dragon Ball took inspirations from Chinese mythology

Would you consider doing a video analyzing the dragon scales seen in the film? Nobody seems to be talking about the material and that's a real shame considering that its a new and interesting exotic material in the MCU with unique properties.
This is true but I think we’re all still caught up on the rings, especially after the mid credit scene

The ten rings are like that one villain in a work of fiction whose backstory and whatnot has more questions than answers.

I think it would work for the MCU better if it’s revealed the ten rings artifacts belong to the Eternals, keep in mind they are 10 too and maybe they got rid of it (years before The Mandarin finds it out)
That's just doesnt make sense in my opinion. You're basically saying a criminal organization should be owned by Earth's protectors from deviants just because they're both 10 in unit. It's stupid. 😅

Well in the comics it's owned by a ship from a dragon (confusing as hell) and I didint fund much online.
The rings are originally made by Fin Fang Foom, which is a dragon. Their kind wants to dominate other planets. The rings are beacons for others of his kind to know which planet to go to next.
He's probably the next main villain in the next Shang-chi movie. That's why they didn't explain where the rings came from.

Honestly, I hope they do more with Extremis because it was amazing, and they could do a lot more with it. The power that it provided people was intense as it makes the super solider serum look like nothing compared to Extremis.
I know they touched on it a bit more with Agents of Shield, but it still lacked that flair. In the comics I think Tony Stark modified the virus to work directly with his suit to act as sort of a sub dermal layer for the suit.
First time we saw the Ten Rings circle was in Iron Man 3 I didn’t expect Ben Kingsley character return & Wong also

I wasn' texpecting that this segment actually give a reason why War Machine wasn't in The Battle of New York with the Avengers. I read that the end-credit scene with them eating at a Schwarma restaurant after the battle continues with Rhodes showing up and asking Tony what he missed. I really wished they had added that . It would have been hilarious.
This was a great history video. However, I want to kindly point out some timeline corrections. Iron Man 3 actually takes place in December 2012, and the present events of Shang-Chi occur in 2024.

Just realized Whiplash's name is Ivan Vanko. That's the Russian equivalent of being called John Johnny....
In the iron man movies, the "10 rings" was not the same 10 rings we saw in Shang Chi, it was people impersonating the real 10 rings. This was told in the Shang Chi movie
Iron Man 1 - Afghan cell of the Ten Rings. Raza (the bald Afghan warlord who imprisoned Tony and Yinsen) even reported directly to Wenwu as early as 1996 in a deleted scene of Shang-Chi
Iron Man 2 - Minor role, but the Ten Rings helped Ivan Vanko on his attack on Monaco
Iron Man 3 - Aldrich Killian impersonated the Ten Rings, leading to the capture of Trevor Slattery by the US Government (and later, by Jackson Norris and the real Ten Rings in All Hail The King)
Ant-Man - Ten Rings wanted to buy the Pym Particle from Darren Cross. Hydra was also there.
There are also other events involving the Ten Rings in Nick Fury comics (canon to the MCU)
The first time I saw the Ten Rings org in Shang-Chi, I started getting League of Shadows vibes from Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight radiology. It's DC, but pretty much standalone in its own right.

man… while watching Shang Chi, it just made the Ten Rings story, their actions, goals, and history so damn confusing when you’d compare it to how it was all explained in Iron Man…. 🤷🏻♀️✌️
Marvel is amazing for creating these movies with connection and attention to detail.

Wenwu’s Ten rings cell is much more powerful than the other cell’s. His cell is like ninja’s & they were trained by Death dealer.

Can the rings change sizes in the user's arms to fit them. Because when they're being used they all of the same size. But when the user retracts them on their wrist they go from big to small from their elbows to forearm. The forearm is where the rings that are places there the smallest and the biggest are closes to the elbow.

those rings are like alien tech and each ring has a different power, so the Mandarin is pretty much an OP villain for Iron Man
What about the beacon from the post-credit scene? It might be that rings are communicating with their maker/first owner, or with rings from other universes, since the next in line for saving is multiverse. We already watched them saving NYC, Earth and half of the universe.
Shang Chi wasn’t perfect. But it was a solid entry in the MCU. And I hope it strikes interest in the hearts of fans for phase 4!
The climax was epic. Just what marvel does.
I've actually liked all the marvel movies that have come out, even captain marvel despite all the controversy surrounding the actress and her issues. But if I have to rank them I'd put captain marvel on the bottom. While it was entertaining it wasn't my favorite.

@@_anterix_2953 it's really random, we don't know the full power of the wings yet but Wenwu is formidable, though Shang Chi is definitely stronger because he almost won with 8 or 7 years of training. The rings as it is now wouldn't beat the nano iron man because of his intelligence and years and years of perfecting his suit.
So shield, hydra, and the ten rings are the major players in the MCU

Shang Chi is 25 years, currently. So assuming he was born in 1999 right after WenWu stepping off as the Ten Ring, the movie takes place in 2024. Also, Captain Marvel's hair is long, while in endgame it was short. They need time to grow.
not gonna lie the one misconception on the MCU ten rings is that it grants longevity not immortality, most people get confused with this.

Shan Chi was born in 2000. Shang's mother died in 1996. In 2014, Shan goes on a mission. 10 years later, in 2024, Shang met his younger sister

Who would win Wenwu or Iron Man from Endgame?
Hard to tell. Endgame Iron Man might have a chance since it's nanotech at its peak, unless Wenwu manages to badly waste the armor's nano particles. But if during Iron Man 3, Wenwu would definitely win since all the armors created were not too advanced nor too powerful, his Ten Rings would definitely turn all of them into useless scrapmetal, & even crush Tony in armor to death if he decides to go comic Mandarin-style cruelty.

@@gandalfthewhite2252 honestly I think it was a fitting moment. His father wasn't really a bad guy, he was just a man stricken with grief. He truly loved his children. So for him to pass on the rings in the way he did was a fitting goodbye moment.
The Key is KANG…. Kang wanted all this because he could finally get out of the quantum realm... the only alternative would be that someone as intelligent as him invented time travel, so Tony stark, enough to have a loki escape in the endgame and then what we all know. the 10 rings I didn't quite understand the connection but there is talk of the terrorist organization that kidnaps Tony Star, already in the first mcu movie, called "the 10 rings"....

Ten Rings. They've been around for centuries. Hydra was around for a handful of decades.

@@KeyIssues If you take the "not sure if it's actually canon" Agents of Shield storyline, sure, but again, it's connection to the MCU after the first season is tenuous at best.
@@bubkusjones Not really, it's strongly rooted in the MCU canon and the writers always did their best to acquiesce to the films. Even cutting characters or altering storylines to fit into the greater MCU. It's canon until they say it isn't.

This lore was something Marvel didn't need. They should have had it take place on a different universal spot. Or given our main character something smaller to fight. Like I said, king pin, a baddie.
