On a dragon, they work perfectly as rings since they were designed that way but on humans, they obviously would never fit as anything other than a bracelet. So if it came from dragons it makes sense as to why they are called rings.

Moreover there was 10 eternals so WHAT IF it was planned for each to have 1 ring? And what if the crater was left by them because as we know they are ancient as well? 1) His name is not Shang. It's Shang-Chi. Anytime you hear otherwise (apart from the exchange on the plane), he is being called Shaun, not Shang.
    2) The character is called Wenwu, not the Mandarin. The Mandarin was a name made up by Aldrich Killian in Iron Man 3 and Wenwu even calls back to it in the movie saying that it's not his name. He's been called a number of other things over the years but the Mandarin does not refer to him

That I believe is why Wong could hear Shang using the rings.
Remember his father up till then was always using the rings like Whiplash from Iron Man 2 whipping them around. Shang like his mother could spin them around and mid-air and combine them to send right back at his enemies. Definitely a whole another level.

"The ten rings themselves are kind of the latest and greatest additions..." Sorry, but I can't help but be disappointed with how they chose to portray these artifacts considering the huge potential they represented. In the comics, each one has a different power such as conjuring lightning or controlling fire. And while I recognize they wanted to adapt them in a way that would benefit a more Hong Kong style kung fu movie, the route they chose was perhaps the least interesting possible, especially when you consider what It means to merge the Mandarin (original wielder of the ten rings) with Shang Chi's father, who was originally Doctor Fu Manchu before Marvel lost the license to use the character. Now, moving past the stereotypical way both characters were portrayed there are still some very interesting aspects in how those characters can combine.
My thought, was that they could tweak the functionality of the rings to manipulate matter and energy in a manner similar to Avatar the Last Airbender style martial arts magic. Maybe one ring can control electromagnetism, another kinetic energy, another can rearrange molecular bonds or manipulate life energy/chi. In his early days, the Mandarin would just use the rings as a sorcerer, controlling lightning, fire, creating fields of force, transmuting matter into other states, etc. All of this focused through the lense of martial arts spellcasting (which frankly is also fairly in line with the magic in Doctor Strange). But as he practices with them, and learns more of their subtleties and nuance, he becomes more and more interested in science and physics, becoming an inventor/innovator as Fu Manchu was portrayed, (alot of those mad genius/bond villain tropes were inspired by Fu Manchu). So once he's been alive for a thousand years into the modern era, he's become more of a spy master than a warlord. The MCU already has an overabundance of shadowy secret organisations that have incredible influence over world politics, so the Mandarin could be more of a secret keeper who strives to unlock magical and scientific mysteries, rather than another Hydra or Red Room.
This preserves his interest in Ta Lo, but also gives him more reason to be interested in the Dweller in Darkness beyond just him being manipulated by the voice of his dead wife. This makes him a more dynamic and nuanced character, and would have allowed them to achieve more with the character, who I don't think they needed to kill off at the end either.

I would like to start out by saying this is a really good theory. My only issue is that his mother also takes control over the rings in the fight with his dad, and they also glow orange. So I think it is still the link to that side of the family helping with the color. The question is why didn’t her use of them trigger anything?

So for your sponsored section ya'll tried out a new tactic with the bar. The bar doesn't go from end to end when the sponsor portion starts (I'm counts from 1:03) it starts around at 80% length of the video width, and then goes down by half within 11 secs, and the second half goes down within 1min 3secs.
This is intentional deception, you're lying to your viewers that more than half of the sponsored content is over, when it's not, they've only watched a 10% of it whereas more than ~85% remains.
Your viewers love you, love them back, and be honest with you sponsorship placements. Don't trick them into watching the entire thing.

I understand his character in comics is based off the cominc’s Mandarin and fu man shu but in movie he had a whole monologue to his family of the importance of names and how Trever appropriated his likeness and created the Mandarin when being hired for the role. In movie lore Wenwoo is NOT the Mandarin and addressing him as that feels disrespectful.

Ta Lo and the Dweller in Darkness are actually more deep-seated Marvel references than you think; and the former, the Great Protector, and Shang Chi's use of the Ten Rings are used as mock-ups for K'un-Lun, Shou Lau, and the Iron Fist (which is sad, because - despite not knowing at all before Nerdist and still enjoying it - I felt like Marvel was going to use Shang Chi as their answer to Iron Fist or else replace K'un-Lun and Shou Lau with Ta Lo and the Great Protector for an Iron Fist spin-off).
