Thank you for posting this. I used to watch this show a lot when I was a kid in the late 70's, and I haven't seen it since. Soupy died a few weeks ago. RIP.
@ D DOLLAR 😂😂😂 We all watched SOUPY SALES on the East Coast, too Every day! My mom loved him. He was on when my mom was making dinner and I remember cause she would always crack up. At dinner she would tell my dad and laugh and she couldn't tell the joke and my dad would crack up. SOUPY SALES was great! He made a lot of people laugh. Still does cause I just bust up!
R.I.P. Soupy. This is one of my all-time favorite videos on youtube and I ABSOLUTELY love it when White Fang pounds the bug and when Alice gets the pie in his face and his hair flys up! You will be missed, Mr. Sales....
I absolutely love Alice's sense of humor. I wanted to get a VIP pass to meet him last year, but I had to get new tires. But I will definitely meet him next time.
In this clip, you can tell his alcoholism was getting really bad. I'm glad he got sober. I saw him in concert for the first time in 2002 and it's the best show I have ever been to. I've been to over 80 concerts, so that says a lot. I did the meet and greet with him this year and he was a really down to earth guy. We talked about his friendships with Groucho Marx and Rob Zombie.
being from Michigan myself ..I've come to know people who knew him ... and he's just the sweetest nicest most caring generous guy you'll ever come across .. very smart ..witty .. .and sensitive all at the same time .. dudes a total sweet heart .. I guess that's why he was able to get that bad with the boozing ...he wasn't a mean drunk ..he didn't beat women up .. he didn't crash cars and carry on ..it's easy not to catch it before it's too late when they are like alice is ..
Thanks for posting this. I too am 54 and love Soupy's comedy. Some people don't get him, which is fine, and others almost die laughing because of him and others like him.
God bless you Soup, when me and my friends needed a laugh. I would break out my white fang and black tooth impersonations in your honor and we would have one, RIP
Great skit!! A singing bug and Alice taking a pie in the face....LOL!! God bless you, Soupy. You're a true comedic legend, and you will be missed. Thank you so much for all the many laughs you gave us.
I LOVED this show when I was little! One of my favorite bits was when White Fang would shout "OH YEAH?" and throw a pie in the face! LOL! And as a fan of Alice Cooper, I LOVE this bit! I MUST find this show on DVD!
Oh man. There's a hole in my heart. Gonna miss you Soupy. Thank, thank THANK YOU!, for all the yuks, guffaws, and gut wrenching laughs! I think, I'm going to give someone a pie in the face today..........
Yep...and one of the funniest albums ever! Can't believe you beat me to posting this by only 4 hours, since that's the first thing I thought about when I saw the clip...bravo!
I grew up with soupy sales and fang and pookie , and had many a good laugh watching the show. He was a very funny man, he will keep em laughing in heaven, watch out for the pie,,,,,,,,,,whow! 56 Carmie
I didn't even know this show was still on in 79. I watched soupy earlier when I was a kid and thought his show was great. really funny and he will be missed
bunnyhead71- you got it backwards. Floyd was 2 years old when Soupy started his show, and he was doing radio before that. The tv show ran in various forms from different cities 1949 to 1979. Uncle Floyd owes his whole career to Soupy Sales.
Alice must have had a flashback to the Cincinatti Pop Fest.....Both he and Soupy were trying to make comebacks in '79. I watched Soupy's show , and saw Alice on that tour. Whitefang would have made a gret opener.
The New Soupy Sales show is on Sunday night at 11:00PM on AMG network. DVR the shows so my kides can watch them the next day. I miss yesterday show. He had a fighting cat vs some mice. The cat was so scared the he ran from them. LOL
OMG!! I've never seen this clip tooooo funny, I was always a big Soupy Sales fan too that was so funny.. Coop got the pie instead of Soupy LOL... I've heard that Alice always got a big kick out of doing shows like this and the Muppet show too..
Soupy taped just 65 episodes of this series on the West Coast in late 1978 and early '79. It was pulled off WPIX-TV in New York a month after its premiere (not a good sign of confidence on the local station's part)....and the show disappeared that fall.
Was @ a discoteque in Detroit back in '82 with my ex-gf, when Soupy Sales came in, he was by himself, but apparently was hoping to hook up with a single lady. Unfortunately when the owner of the place learned that Soupy was there, he arranged to have one of his staff toss a whipped cream pie in his face. Soupy was livid, I dunno what happened if anything as a result, other than Soupy leaving the joint after cleaning up in the men's room...lol.
Very funny, so much I think a lot of stuff was made up as they went along. You could always hear the camera men and others in the background laughing, everyone had a good time. It was so fast and loose, unlike any thing we have today.
hahaha "spiders and scorpions and catamarans". I also like the novelty piano playing the bug was doing. Oh, and that last ending bit... around 2:54... made me laugh the hardest I've ever laughed in my life.
it's still hilarious! it's too bad people are not this kind of funny on TV these days anymore. PeeWee herman came close and Sponge Bob does not cut it!
this is the "unhealthy, almost ready to die Alice" and later on, he would look even worse than this in the early 80's. Good thing he stopped drinking, he went on to be a far more consistent artist once he was sober (there was some classic stuff, but his albums were hit or miss in the 70's).
Alice was such a HOTTIE bitd (he still is, in fact)!! And Alice getting a pie in the face by a yeti is absolutely priceless. Thanks, man!!
Whenever I see this, be sure to laugh!
Alice is lovely!
Soupy's two sons- Hunt & Tony- played on one of Iggy's best LPs "Lust For Life" (1977).
Thank you for posting this. I used to watch this show a lot when I was a kid in the late 70's, and I haven't seen it since. Soupy died a few weeks ago. RIP.
I remember this one.
Soupy was so 😎 all us teens watched him on KABC LA! Soups could hold his own in todays market too.
@ D DOLLAR

alice's face is so hilarious before he gets hit by the cream pie, it's like "oh damn..." he totally saw that coming hahahahahah
Thanks for posting this. I too am 54 and love Soupy's comedy. Some people don't get him, which is fine, and others almost die laughing because of him and others like him.

Great stuff. THANKS for posting it.
Jonathan and Darlene fans are a special breed. It sounds like Soupy's tech guys sped up the turntable a bit.

This is how Alice came up with the idea for "I Love the Dead". :)

bunnyhead71- you got it backwards. Floyd was 2 years old when Soupy started his show, and he was doing radio before that. The tv show ran in various forms from different cities 1949 to 1979. Uncle Floyd owes his whole career to Soupy Sales.

The bug is singing "Autumn in New York." It's a version by Jonathan and Darlene Edwards (which was a joke album, perfect for Soupy).
Rest in peace, Soupy
alice is a great sport

Hey! Alice is only as old as he feels.
The New Soupy Sales show is on Sunday night at 11:00PM on AMG network.

I LOVE the ending! No More Mr. Nice Guy, eh Al?!! ; ) ROFL!!!
It would have been interesting to see Alice Cooper and Tiny Tim together.
This shit was too funny.

RIP Soupy
it sounded like whitefang yelled
OHH YEAAAHHH
right before he threw the pie. freakin hilarious.
oh yeah, that's right, it's none other than Soupy Sales.
Right, he looks old, but when he gets on stage he feels 18.
RIP Lucas The Spider.

Corny jokes get the pie in the face. Love Soupy

What channel is your show on?
a minute of silent for the bug!
Was this filmed in Detroit?
I don't think I have that station here in Long Island.
Good night, funny man
Did he also air Deputy Dawg during his show?
1:49 they repeat that one Alice clip of him looking up like 4x.
That was funny.
it's still hilarious! it's too bad people are not this kind of funny on TV these days anymore. PeeWee herman came close and Sponge Bob does not cut it!
WOW COOL!
Can you or anyone upload Soupy singing, "My Baby's Got A Crush On Frankenstein"? :-)
this is the "unhealthy, almost ready to die Alice" and later on, he would look even worse than this in the early 80's. Good thing he stopped drinking, he went on to be a far more consistent artist once he was sober (there was some classic stuff, but his albums were hit or miss in the 70's).
Did I hit my head? Am I imagining this?
Wow - Alice hasn't changed much now has he ?
vaudeville lives on!

Black Tooth got really excited and then Alice Coopers face got covered in white goo? i dont think thats a pie on Alice's face.
White Fang was the one who threw the pie
Way to ruin some good ol fashioned humor.
Ahahahahaha
The would be ironic. George Carlin was an Atheist.
