As a kid of age ten watched Soupy every day on WNEW 5 NEW YORK. WHAT A FUNNY SHOW!! SOUPY WAS SUPREME!! AND LATER THERE WERE OUTTAKES. STILL ONLINE. HILARIOUS!! MISS HIM
Soupy sales came on every Saturday ..I never missed a show.i loved this. My sister would wash her hair, put it in rollers, fix tomato soup ,grilled cheese and sit down and watch him.this was her Saturday action. Soupy sales just seemed like the happiest person
@@sybil-roxanneclemons1333 Whenever we took longer roadtrips as a family my mother would frame how much longer we had to get to our destination by saying, "It's still three Soupy Sales Shows away." I could relate to that.
I did some searching on Apple Tunes, and found the full version! Clark performed the tune with Oscar Peterson, one of my all time jazz favorites. It was recorded at the Blue Note. Oh, to have been there that night...!
boy oh boy, I use to LOVE this show when I was a 5 or 6 year old kid!!! lol Hobart and his wife in the wood stove use to crack me up....it was always my favorite characters. Though I loved them all!
Smiling through tears. Missing my childhood hero (Soupy KNEW that we 13-year olds got it!), and my childhood. The mid-sixties were an incredible time to be alive / aware. Life was simpler, more peaceful. One of my most prized possessions is a very nice letter from Soupy that accompanied his autographed picture. I'm 65, too. I ran home every day at 3:30 to catch his show.
He was also my childhood hero. Great times and I am glad we have these classic Soupy shows to watch. Please check out our playlisr for more Soupy shows. Thanks
I love these old Soupy Sales Shows. I have been looking for Pookie singing Fairy Tales (If You're Young at Heart by Frank Sinatra.) I can die happy now . Brings back memories of those days. Never understood everything that Soupy did (I was Pre Teen) but I loved everybody involved. It's not for everyone, but I'm not everyone.
DAVID HAUGLAND me too. My friend Al and I wore those sweaters and bow ties all of 1964. I specialized in the art of properly receiving a pie in face an keeping a that slow burn face for at least 5 minutes without wiping it off.
Watched it in the NYC area in earlier years then moved to Philadelphia and used to rush home from school to watch it in the mid 60s. Such great memories!
I loved these as a youngster. This really taught me something about humor. My favorite of the tales was the one based on "those in glass houses should not throw stones". I haven't found it yet. At a dance night, I even did "The Mouse".
Who was the character who always filled in his words, incorrectly but Soupy would be fooled and say it, and then have to stop and say, no, that's not right
In the 1980s, I worked for Livent, when Garth Drabinsky ran it. He'd had polio as a child (before there was a polio vaccine), and it affected his ability to walk. Perversely, Soupy's dance is similar to Drabinsky's walk, a big step with one foot, while dragging the other foot behind. When Drabinsky walks, each step with his strong leg is so powerful, it's as though he's trying to ram his leg right through the floor.
Well The Fairy Godmother smiled. Smile Smile!~ "Well! Your worries are over!" The Fairy Godmother said: "Name it, and it shall be yours!" And Cinderella looked to The Fairy Godmother and said: "Aw, Baloney!" And The Fairy Godmother waved her hand, and sure enough, there was a Big Baloney right on the kitchen table!"
Did Pookie call him a clumsy ass? Nothing like the great Soupy Sales Show. What was the hippos name? Soupy introduced us to Eddie Lawrence and Clark Terry, watching the show made my life growing up so much richer. Talk about exercising you imagination. The person who did Pookie was good, but I remember a different voice, growing up in Los Angeles. You have so much quality television on your channel. Great work. Thanks for making my day. No my year.

Soupy was "One of a Kind." Watched him on WNEW we got it on channel 5. NYC. His shows are next to impossible to find, I doubt if they have ever released episodes for sale, I've only found a few.
Soupy Sales was incredibly hip. It wasn’t just a kids show. Brilliant
My dad watched this religiously, and he was well into his 20s when this was on. Good comedy is good comedy!
I used to watch these same B&W shows after school on WNEW TV channel 5 in NYC. Great to see them again.
8:41 "This idiot down here doesn’t know when to stop!" 🤣🤣🤣
Pure comedy. Thanks Soupy and his gang for the memories. Thank you.
Watching soupy sales as a kid always felt like playing hooky from reality!!🤪🤣😏
I'm 72 and remember this show when it first showed on T.V. as a kid in South Jersey

The original Soupy show aired weekdays.
I _never_ thought I'd ever see this episode again. My mother watched it with me and one of my younger brothers and we were all laughing. Unbelievable.
Indeed, my laughter after school back in the 60's

Simplicity at its best. Made funnier because it was live. Ernie kovacs also thrived with live, free form television.
