    Absolutely! 23k miles and 2-1/2 years on mine. I'll drive it daily even in Houston traffic! And I back in spaces if at all possible. Nothing beats seeing my GT in the parking garage after a hard day at work! Great job as usual.

      @Genie Tech 'n' Games manual is the only way I would buy a car for myself, unless for some medical reason I can't drive one anymore! No problems in almost 24k miles and 3yrs. Only had the pony lights in the mirrors replaced since they distorted into blobs. Love it!

      @@trbstang My 2014 Mustang CVS 3.7 Prem/Performance/Pony pk. had those pony projection mirrors and mines made it to 56k miles before they started to crack, danggit i miss that car terribly, i now have an 2019.5 Mustang GT 5.0 6 spd.prem/Performance pk1 but it doesn't have that light pckge and door trim light, nor the pony projection on the mirror that's my only downer about this car but that Coyote 302 V8, 6 sp. manual transmission and exhaust of a monster makes it all worthwhile.

      What mods do you have as a daily driver

    • @trbstang
      @trbstang 2 года назад

      @@giatumber9090 not much, mostly cosmetic and functional improvements. Hood struts, jacking rails, wheel spacers, splash guards. I'm not going to do any performance mods for a daily driver, but maybe in a few years I might. I drove my 87 Mustang for 24 years and 306k miles stock, and it served me well so I hope to keep this one a long time too.

    don't understnad the "black car" fear, they clean up well, hide door dings, and eventually chips and rust much better than white, silver, and lighter colors, they can be a heat sink in deep south heat. but they look sharp, show off wheels, and re-sale well.

      Don’t forget they show swirl marks after a few washes. Will show any dust and water spots very easily. You get a scratch and it will be super visible. I owned a black car also. You have to garage it and if you drive daily and like a clean car get ready to do it a couple times a week.

    Yes. 80 mile round trip daily and most weekends in my ‘18 GT PP1 which is the same car as the ‘19. It can be a regular car or an absolute monster. Just depends on how you drive it. Regular drive mode can be tame and reserved. Sport mode makes this a different car with the auto transmission. Amazing throttle and braking response engine braking and great downshifts. Last 8K miles I’ve driven have all been in Sport.
    Performance all season tires are required below 45 degrees.
    Fuel economy ranges from 23-26 mpg.
    Also front bumper clears most parking lot blocks. Whaa the infotainment screen is a little small. Plenty for a backup camera.
    Don’t cheap out not getting the Brembo brakes. If you’re going to drive fast, you’ll want them. They’ve saved my car a few times already.
    Add a dash cam and good radar detector and you’ve got a fantastic car.

    We got our Kona blue 2019 GT PP1 in August and absolutely love it! Its the fun/backup/road trip car. On sunny cold days I'll drive it to work (12 mile round trip). Rev matching is SO cool! We have some nice back roads around us and will occasionally take it on there and mainly stay in 3rd & 4th gears just to listen to it and have fun. Its averaged 23.8 mpg over 5100 miles we've put on it. I opted not to get magnaride for $1695 but it handles amazing without it. Only mods are we put an MBRP Street catback on it, all season tires for winter on it with a set of 20" Carroll Shelby wheels (CS-14), ceramic coated, 35% window tint, painted the calipers red, catch can, K&N air filter and most importantly - removed the spaceship from the motor the night we got it!

    The back seat of a Mustang is for those under age 10. You can put grown ups in the back seat as long as you cut their legs off.
    If you want to move the seat over for rear access, USE the latch in the back of the seats NOT the reclining side lever.
    For almost three years, my daily driver has been a white 2016 V-6 auto Mustang. It is a basic car, good on gas, can get out of its own way, it has a large trunk and fun to drive.
    If I were to replace it with a new Mustang, it would have to be a V-8. Ford no longer makes the V-6 version.
    BTW, you did not show the trunk release button on top of the rear license plate. ALSO, the way you drive, this would be a very expensive daily driver.
    Thanks for your post.

It seems like the specification is a little different in the U.K, but we are paying a lot more. A GT with metallic paint, adaptive suspension and option pack 2 (19 inch wheels, satnav, Bang O sound system, climate control seats and some extra leather interior) is 45K Pounds Sterling. Yes, Houston, TX. I did usually have some traffic, stop and go under 40, but now with the completed freeway I use, my speeds are 60-70 most of my drive. My mileage has gone up a bit so now it is 15-16 if I drive it carefully. The 3.73 gears in the performance pack do hurt the mileage. I lost 20+ miles per tank on my 87 Mustang when I swapped in 3.73s for the stock 2.73s. I can get 22-23 strictly hwy. Guys with the regular gears do get several mpg better mileage, like 18 city, 25-26 hwy.

    Great review on that Mustang GT! The European version does have the Performance Pack as Standard but some things are
    different to the US version. So we don‘t have the rear spoiler and no strut bar with the PP. But we have the LCD display stock and bigger mirrors and the active exhaust as standard on the GT 😉

    Here in Australia (the largest Mustang export market in the world), the Mustang only comes in one spec - almost fully loaded. They have a combo of premium pack and PP1. So, premium-wise, digital dash, leather heated/cooled, ambient lighting, big screen, active exhaust and a Bose 12 speaker with sub in the boot (trunk) etc etc.
    PP-wise, it has the LSD, the Brembos and the Michelins (although I've seen Kumhos too), but not the strut brace or spoiler (optional). The lowered suspension was previously an option, but may possibly now be standard - Ford Australia doesn't provide enough info, and many sales people are pretty clueless about the cars they sell, surprisingly.
    The only major options here in Oz are the Recaros, Magneride suspension, and the various spoilers and stripes. I'm a little surprise you didn't mention Magneride in a video about a GT as a daily driver - it makes a big difference to daily driving comfort. I'm guessing the "poverty pack" (not derogatory, just what we call base models here in Oz) you drove probably didn't have it. Either way, I can't wait to buy my GT, Kona Blue or Race red, auto, Magneride.

      Randi Ruge I blew out a tire on the way home from the dealer in my PP1. Construction season... Inflator kit was worthless and I had to wait 6 hours for a tow. I have a good compressor and tire plug kit now. The manual warns against any tire size other than stock in the rear otherwise damage can be done to the Torsen diff.

    • @randiruge1265
      @randiruge1265 5 лет назад

      I also went with the cheap route. Tire plug, a jack, lug wrench and the inflator that came with the car. Here is the website that has the spare tire to fit. It's nice because it fits in the spare tire slot and is the same size as the tires so that the Torsen is happy......Probably should have bought it.www.automotiveauthorityllc.com/products/spare-wheel-and-tire-kit-for-2015-2017-ford-mustang-gt-with-brembo-brakes

    • @HughesEnterprises
      @HughesEnterprises 5 лет назад

      Randi Ruge Yeah I was looking at that tire waiting for the tow. I wouldn’t trust the fix a flat goo in the stock inflator. Says it fixes flats with up to 1/4” hole. Mine was 1/8” and it just shot goo out and never held pressure. The motor overheated and it died after 20 minutes.

    Great review Joe and you are right on with the items you highlighted. I say this from a 2018 GT Premie view of which I drive. The cars are quite similar in many aspects. My GT is all black with the performance pack 2 and additional performance options. In reference to your main topic, yes the GT with performance pack Is definitely a daily driver with benies. Anytime you strap that thing on no matter where you go short or long haul it makes the trip a total blast. I'm retired and mostly drive around town using the same route for routine stops which can become boring, not in that GT. I live in AZ and drove it to the Florida Gulf Coast on vacation and the round trip was that much more enjoyable. Those few items you pointed out that weren't your preference I agree on as well with the exception of the dash display and side mirrors since mine are a bit larger. Under the hood I too don't feel comfortable with the skinny brace that holds that heavy hood up. I'm not sure if the 19 is the same as the 18 coyote engine but if it is an important point that prospective buyers should be aware on that monster Mill is the 10 qt. Oil capacity, a must for that engine, but makes an oil change a bit more expensive. With my GT I'm blown away by the performance and handling greatly enhanced by the magna ride shocks, active exhaust, perfomance pk, adjustable steering and ride, and brake system that will give you change back every time just too mention a few. Oh and your right on with the down shift blip which I'll never get enough of. I could go on forever about this car but you hit it pretty well on this video, enjoyed watching.

    Damn, I like that GT in black with those wheels. Looks just as good as a '17 GT350
