- The 2019 Mustang GT offers a lot of different options to to buyers to tailor their muscle car to their needs. I am going to compare an entry level Mustang GT to a Mustang GT that has the Performance Pack Level 1 option. Does what you get going that route warrant the increase in price. For those unsure about getting the performance pack, it's a great option and well worth it, and you get most of it back in resale since it's added value to the car. Skip the black appearance pack and just spend the extra for the PP1. The Brembo brakes are incredible at all speeds, you get the 3.55/3.73 gears depending on transmission, Torsen differential, better wheels, sticky summer tires as well as improved and additional suspension bits too.

Just got one myself 2 days ago!Love it!
Mine showed up on Thursday, that's 3 weeks earlier than the dealer said. I ordered it on Feb 15th and was told middle of May for delivery, I was very happy to get the call. I love it. Getting the roof wrapped in satin black , getting the windows tinted and I got new Niche Misano wheels in gun metal grey for it. It's going to be a great summer.
The performance package 18-19s are so hard to find on the used market.

We ordered the PP1 for the Magna-Ride, went full Bonkers = Convertible - 10 spd Auto - B&O Stereo - Waited 5 months for 5 spoke Shiny Nickle wheels, [BLACK is Gaudy] - Tuned Exhaust & you get the general gist on the other options.

In April 2024, I found a low mileage (under 9000 miles) 2018 Mustang Premium GT (Orange Fury metallic color) 10 speed automatic with optional PP1, Magne-ride, active exhaust, and a dealer installed Roush supercharger. I might say a rare find! More power and performance than I have ever experienced in a car I can drive most everyday!
Just bought my 2019 non PP.. and here's the thing.. if you want a MANUAL with pp AND magneride. You WONT find it.. maybe in a base. . I really didn't want to sacrifice either , but you cant find both.. I almost went BULLITT for that SOLE reason... so the reason I went mag over pp is PP is definitely a step up.. but its mostly tires brakes shocks and coolant.. which still.could ALL BE BETTER. So I can make those changes and would anyways even if I had gotten the pp. Love the content tho!

I just bought me a 2018 GT premium with performance pack 1 (ingot silver like the one on your video). ABSOLUTE beast of a car. Coming from a 4 cylinder Focus ST....this car is absolutely a blast... I mean I laugh like a crazy man when I floor it. It's also a BEAUTIFUL car. I have the optional Recaros! VERY comfortable compared to my Focus ST recaros.... Great review. You are one of my favorites I've seen lately on here.

He didn't really review a base GT. The base GT comes with a sort of outdated stereo system and without leather seats and and 18 " wheels
Performance pack definitely has some good stuff for the money. Almost went with one but I figured the base would be a better daily. 3.31 gears for highway, softer ride for road trips, and ability to rotate wheels. Besides that, just give me the v8 and the 6 speed and all is good.

MagneRide is a must with PP1, otherwise the suspension is too stiff.

I special ordered my 2018 Silver automatic GT (with a CD player), which looks exactly like the 2019 GT shown here. Since my GT shall never see a race track, there was absolutely no reason for me to consider a performance package and saved myself over $7,000.00 in doing so.

I enjoy your thorough comparisons and since I'm looking into a Mustang GT I was very interested. A couple of things that didn't come up that your followers might be interested in are that with the Performance Package 1 you also get a larger rear sway bar, better performance tires (Michelin Pilot Sport 4S) and that if you want to smooth out the ride and get even better handling you can get the MagneRide Damping System for $1,695. One thing I'm not sure of is if the Torsen Limited Slip Diff is standard or only part of the PP1. Any way, keep these coming and if you ever get to drive one with the MagneRide, I'd love to hear your comments. Thanks.

Buy the black if you can afford to Xpel wrap with a ceramic coating. Makes keeping clean a breeze.
I have watched so many of your videos on the Mustangs. I finally picked one out in my price range. Its a base velocity blue, 2020 5.0 base model 301A pack, I have them putting heat/seats. I will upgrade tires and rims and exhaust once I sell my aftermarket parts from my Chevy Silverado Z71. Nice wicker bill spoiler. I am driving from RI to Maryland to pick up. Velocity blue is hard to come by in the northeast. Lot of people buying Mustangs during this coronavirus. This is a test to see if i like the Mustang. I retire in 8 years and will by a new GT350 or a used GT500 if they still make them. Thanks again. That digital dash looks sweet. $2100 ad on. My wife would kill me. Lol.

Great review but it might be misguiding. The base GT doesn't come with that touch screen stereo system. It also doesn't come with leather seats or dual climate control. It is still a great car for the money nonetheless.

The PP1 automatic gets the 3.55 TORSEN® Differential while the regular GT automatic gets the 3.15 limited slip rear axle (3.55 optional).

Honestly Raiti, I love my GT but one of the main reasons I went Ford was I remember they were the only Big 3 that didn’t take a bailout
Got a ‘19 premium with 401a, auto, smart, safe pkg, custom rims. Blind spot, lane depart , adap cruise control etc are very usable on hwy driving which is the only time i won’t be in my work truck. So far love it, coming from a hellcat& 2 scat packs

I plan to get one when I come back from deployment but one of those supercharged ones like from Lebanon Ford Perfomance, pair it off with the boosted Dodge Charger. A couple things I’d add: better rims with the higher performance pack, can change the colour of the lights on the dash info centre and cup holder lights, I’d recommend doing a resonator delete and changing the exhaust set up if you really want to hear that engine roar
Just order active valve exhaust! 4 modes from quiet to super-loud....why pay for an expensive system that is non-adjustable?? Active exhaust is $1000 in Canada.

@@Jhnzo_ I'm in Niagara Region...just look it up on the Ford website. Active exhaust option for Mustangs has been a grand for the last three model years.
@@rod928s4 I think we’re talking about different things. The stock exhaust isn’t good on the gt’s. I’m saying to replace the stock exhaust with either a corsa, borla etc. Whether it’s active or not is irrelevant

Very happy with my GT PP1 in Velocity Blue. I just added the PP2 wheels which look amazing.
Also, I had my car taken to an upholstery shop and had the center console wrapped in black leather, addressing one of Joe’s zonks.

I know where i'm NOT going to buy my BRAND NEW 2019 GT Mustang Performance Pack where new tires are used doing 90+ mph pulls :) But I agree! It's a frickin' amazing car.
If you want a performance level one with 480 horsepower you have that option it’s called the Bullitt. Great to see more Mustang content always welcome

The main reason hat the interior is nicer form the leather to the 12in digital gauge being installed has to do with the premium package which has nothing to do with the performance package. Good review but you should’ve mentioned that. You also should’ve mentioned the way the center console that you said was hard plastic becomes soft touched and stitched to match the seats when you get the premium) pack. The car in general becomes super nice once it has the premium pack and performance pack combined like the model you are reviewing has.

I’d go with the black one. I don’t like the wing on the pp1 and I can live without the digital dash. It would definitely be a 6 speed for sure 👍

Should've mentioned that the manual PP1 gets you a Torsen LSD whilst the automatics make due with the standard trac-lok LSD. The Torsen doesn't lose effectiveness over time, where the trac-lok's clutch discs do wear out after 90k miles or so.

It’s actually a 307 not a 302. It changed in 2018plus. Note for your future videos. That’s how they pumped up more horsepower. It’s finally a true 5.0

I would buy another Mustang for as long as I live after the song in the dance that Ford has given the people on the GT500 to this date still no true horse power numbers and I honestly do believe the rumor that when they came out with a redeye that freaked ford out in that Ford was ashamed of the numbers of the GT500 so now they’re scrambling to bring them up to par.
It will be interesting to see how it all turns out!

I’m a pretty big guy and I looked at a GT 350 when I bought my Roush The minute I sat in it I jumped out of it and said to the salesman no no way no thanks those seats suck they’re too tight for my fat ass LOL and I went with the other car although I didn’t really know that much about the GT 350 at the time I think I would’ve went with it and change the seat if I had known what a awesome car it is I’d probably still have that if I had bought that but the price was pretty prohibitive too. What really screwed me up is when I went from the mustang to the raptor the buttons on the steering wheel aremexactly reverse of each other and got to be a little confusing for a little bit until I got used to the raptor.
Yeah those .Recarros are not for everyone but you can get them without in the GT350. If you go GT350R then you are stuck with them! That is a little annoying about the buttons!
Mine is in production 4.04 and in Europe mid June. PP1 is std here. Cant go below. I took magneride and forged silver 5 spoke wheels. Can’t wait. Great movie!

random questions for you Joe, in regards to your Focus RS. Have you installed an oil catch can? If so or if not, would you prefer the PCV or Crankcase catch cans or both? I've also seen the 1,2 combo with the breather plate. Are these necessary bolt on mods for RS's with low milage or would you advise to install them after 5k,10k,15k, 20k-30k miles? Or are these benefits that come w/ these mods all appealing only in theory?

Hi Craig! I have not installed an oil catch can, and not sure if I ever will. I am not sure how much longer I am going to hold on to my RS. If I decide it is going to be longer then I will be adding the same setup that you talked about.Even stock they are really good to have for overall protection. They can be installed when ever you want. I will be giving an update video soon on my RS.
