2019 Mustang GT PP2 - The Most Underrated Mustang EVER!

  • At long last! My review of the 2019 Mustang GT with the Performance Pack Level 2. I take you on a tour of the car, give you my personal impression of the car, take it for a drive as well as attempting a few acceleration launches, which weren't all that great but still exhilerating! This car's level of performance is just shy of the coveted Shelby GT350, but with some discounts and rebates, can be had for the cost of fairly used GT350s that are a few years old.

Great review, I just picked up a base 2020 pp2 for 39,000. It’s was set up exactly like your car but with black cloth recaro, and it came with the non digital gauge cluster. MSRP was like 49,000.00. Thanks to covid-19 I got a steal. This car was less than some pp1 cars.

Very nice! I have the velocity blue. I changed tires to MPS4s and put 295 in the front. I also added very subtle mud guards on the rear to help protect the rear fender. Those sport cup's 2s will chip away the front quarters / bottom skirt area in the front and the rear quarter in the back.

I have a ‘20 PP2. I ordered mine and checked all the boxes on the order sheet so it’s got leather recaro’s, active exhaust, digi dash, b+o stereo. One word to all those complaining about tire wear. The tires are awesome if you track the car regularly which I do. If you don’t chance to the 4S’s. The tires optimize the cars performance. If you are worried about tire wear maybe you should have got a focus.
My car is black with charcoal interior. I installed the FB GT350 brake kit, GT350 wheels(necessary with the brake kit), a diff cooler, FP oil separator, and various suspension goodies from Steeda. The car is rock solid reliable on track and actually faster than my former GT350 that had an engine failure. It currently runs 1.15’s on the lightning course of my home track NJMP.

YW! It probably is the best riding mustang for how well it handles. The magnaride does an excellent job keeping the vehicle planted and stable in any terrain. And especially for having such wide tires (305s all around), it absorbs bumps and undulations really well while still allowing some amazing handling. You're right, I should have pointed that out. Yeah I would recommend this if you're buying this new, especially vs a new GT350. There's used GT350s in the low 40s but then you're getting a pretty used Shelby vs this new. I've also heard of reliability issues with the GT350s.

I wish ford didn’t discontinue the PP2 but to be quite honest I don’t go to tracks and I rarely go to the drag strip. So any performance pack wouldn’t have been put to good use for me. I do love the pp2 wheels and I could go for the brembos. I just ordered a 2022 Mustang GT Premium with the 401a package and Recaro seats. I’ll end up putting the sve sp2 wheels which are comparable to the pp2 wheels then probably some coil overs or fords suspension package, brembos, and a catback then just save up for a supercharger.

The 2019 Mustang GT base price is $35,355. The Performance Pack 2 costs $6495 so at the minimum you're looking at a MSRP of $41,850. Then once you move up to the Premium mustang and other options it starts adding up. But they do often go down in price towards the end of the year.

I ordered the 2020 pp2 with 401a and security package. B&O stereo. Msrp was $50,700 appx. And I got $1k off. So $49k.

Matthew Smith nice! The B&O stereo is a nice upgrade. I should have mentioned that I only have the standard stereo. Not even the Shaker. But to be honest, I usually have the volume turned down anyways, so I can hear that beautiful exhaust tone! Lol. Congrats on your new mustang!

Matthew Smith I think even at or close to msrp, this is such a great car for the money. I just happened to get lucky and found this leftover 2019 that they’d been trying to get rid of.
