Me too. I have a 2016 GT PP premium in deep impact blue. It's my favorite blue they made. I was considering a new one only for the digital dash but with all the engine and transmission issues I wouldn't buy one even for 10K under msrp. Sticking with my 2016. No issues and no ticking!
You can actually SEE out of a Mustang. Why did GM design not once but twice a car that you can’t see out of! Last time I checked, being able to see out of a car was kind of important.
I test drove the “big three” American sports coupe. The camaro was the most difficult to drive, front and rear window way too low, I can’t drive that daily in the city.
The camero has a unique feel to it when you drive one. I driven both and to me the camero feels like something special, where as the mustang feels like any other regular car
Both are amazing choices, Ford knocked it out of the park. My ride is a '15 GT and I'm sticking with it. I personally like the looks better and can't justify spending thousands and thousands more on the facelift when you can get a 15-17 GT for 23-25k and use the extra 6-10k to get a bunch of power mods as well as cosmetic mods to make it stand out and match/outperform the new mustang. I get alot of compliments on my 2019 Ford Mustang GT Perfomance Pack 1.. Popular Kona Blue color here in Pensacola, FL..Everyone says you know its a Mustang by the angry growl of the exhaust! Nothing sounds like a Mustang..Big rotor Brembo brakes also says this car has something under the hood too..lol
Great presentation, Joe. But in my thinking, cars, especially sports cars, are suppose to get better as the years progress. The 2020 or 2021 should have some improvements over that 2019. At some point, one would have to just jump in and buy a year model that they like. Personally, I would be fine with that 2016. Great job, as usual. Keep em' comin', thanks!
Thank you for the great comparison. And I have a 2016 mustang GT with 4500 miles on it. How can I make it sound as good as the 19 GT I’m very happy with everything else on the car. There are so many different exhaust systems out there, I am a fan a boiler, but would like to know what your thoughts are. I currently have Ford racing mufflers axle back which I believe are the Borla Cory mufflers I am 60 years old, but feel the need to wake this thing up a little bit. I would also like to thank you for all the good contact you’ve put out over the years. It’s been really fun watching you and thumbs up to Larry. Great job. I know you did this video 5 yrs ago but I was barely able to afford a 2015 mustang gt in a count of I'm poor. Had to save a long time $$ b/c have a min wage paying job. Paid for it in cash so its all mine. Not all of us can afford the up to date new ones, but happy i have one. Thanks for the video

I had a 2016 and traded in for a 2019 after a test drive. If you don't get the performance package, don't waste your time. What a difference between the cars. Not to mention not many cars will take you on. Just don't mess with a La Ferrari and you will be fine. I love my car.
I agree, the PP1 on my 2019 with the stick and magna-ride is a blast to drive, long time Chevy guy here btw. The car is a ripper, and you can actually see out of it, compared to the 'Maro. I actually think the specs on the 2019 coyote are a bit under-rated, this thing plain rips! Cheers!
Awesome review, I was looking to buy a 2015-2016 Mustang GT for better value for the buck but I had a chance to try a 2019 and damn it's so much fun, you really feel connected with the car and the sound is much better. I do prefer the front nose of the 2016 but whatever. Well balance car for an everyday ride. Love these review, keep doing what you do, you are amazing. Thank you
I went with the premium for the larger touch screen. The heated and cooled seats are a plus in the premium also. Thanks for another good Mustang video.

I went to get gas tonight and the kid that pumped my gas said "I have seen a lot of beautiful Mustangs but this one has to be the nicest I have ever seen. It is eye catching!" I love my car because it is mine and it is built the way I wanted it but it is so awesome when people appreciate it as much as I do and oh the sound!!!!!
Getting a used 2016 Gt has a Rausch super charger also whoever had it put round tail lights on it which is first thing I will replace with original lights so just wanted to get your thoughts on the car Thank you for what you do very interesting to watch
I like the 2018-2019 Mustang, except the front fascia. The 2015-2017 Mustang front fascia looks more muscular with that old school design. I wished they kept the 2015-2017 front fascia and hood mounted turn signals only for the current Bullitt Mustang. But the 2018-2019 does have more grunt though and it does sound much better.🤔
I like the 2018-19 in certain angles. Idk why but in some angles the new front end looks off. It looks good in some angles and looks weird in others. The super snake front bumper really fixed a lot of what was wrong with the front end. I do love the new tail lights and the digital dash though.
-I still don't understand why there is Performance Pack option without driving modes. -I hate that huge plastic engine cover on my 2018 GT engine; but, I read that it protects the direct injection components. -I did not like the hood shape on the 2015-2017 with the two raised lines; at least now, we can see the bulging fenders.
Really wanted to see what the 2019 GT was all about. My current ride is a 2015 GT. The clutch pedal feel is super light. They must have changed clutches for 16 and up. I've also got the large touch screen for nav and sat radio no to mention the factory subwoofer located in the trunk. Other than the added HP and throatier exhaust sound, no big deal. Thanks for pointing out all the differences. The under hood plastic change sucks on the 19.
I noticed HP gain and engine responce using Shell 93 V Power +Nitro... First time I started using this gas..Noticed faster throttle responce.. more angry exhaust sound from my 2019 Ford Mustang GT Performance pack 1
I traded my 2017 GTCS for the exact car your reviewed in black, it was a 2018 GT base with the performance pack, yes they made some improvements. The 2017 was good, but this 2018 is more lethal. I do miss the infotainment system, but I think you can aftermarket that. I actually prefer the cloth seats as opposed to the leather.

Actually you can’t technically upgrade the tiny screen for the infotainment style...however there is the option through infotainment.net, but dayum is it expensive as heck lol
Great comparison review, Joe. Both are great, but I just love the '18+ just a little more. I do agree with the comments about the non-Premium interior though (even though I'd LOVE to have even a small screen like that in my '99 lol).....the Premium trim should be standard....perhaps with Premium Plus getting the leather and digital dash. Perhaps Ford will step it up again for the S650 in a few years. Keep the Mustang content coming though :)

Joe, can you give us your take on the PP2? I am waiting on delivery of a Velocity Blue GT with manual, PP1, active exhaust, and Magneride, but the PP2 wheels are spectacular in photos. Some say it may be not make a great daily driver.
Great. I've read a couple of reviews that state the tires make the steering a bit twitchy on anything other than perfect pavement. However, I have to admit that the PP2's wheels and front spoiler help make it the best looking Mustang outside of a GT350/GT350R.
i totally agree with you! I think any car with 305s on the front end is going to feel a little twitchy. You are right though, those wheels with the front lip spoiler look amazing!
The 2016 mustang in this video doesn't have the diffuser because it is not a premium, it's only a performance pack. If it was a premium it would actually have a diffuser like the 2019 but even better it has the center part painted body color unlike the 2019
Joe you are spot on with the Standard interior up grades Ford needs to address. I got to test drive a 2019 with Rev-match and its a real Hoot to Experience with that Coyote sound track... I hope Ford Brings back Lightning Blue for 2020..Velocity blue wants to be Lightning , but just isn't ..I'm Bummed ..
Love your show , two things , the try bar lights on the front of the 2015-19 were on the first Mustangs 1964 1/2 - 1966 not late 60s , and they were not lights . Do you ever use your turn signals ?????

I had a 2016 and now have a 2019. both beautiful, but the 2019 is a way better car and the front redisign was done for a reason the front hood used to shake going high speads not the new 18-19 make a bid difference.
I like both cars. I prefer the 18-19 overall. One thing I don't like about the 18-19 is the engine cover compared to the older 5.0. I own a 18 base model. No issues so far.
Really good comparison man, I was looking into the used market for a 2016-17 mustang gt but seeing this makes me save up a little more to get a 2018. For me it’s the back of the car the combination with the quad exhaust and rear diffuser with those curved tail lights really make the car just that much better. I’m in the Florida area so by any chance you know of used 2018 Gt let me know Im very interested for buying
The pre-facelift s550 are rated 4.4 0-60 not 4.7. So honestly it's only 2 tenths of a second faster for a Manual option. In my opinion the pre face lift still looks better, and honestly for what you can get them on the used market now its honestly the best bang for your buck rn.

Batman do a search on RUclips for the ZB Holden Commodore reviews which is sold in Australia and is almost identical to the Buick Regal as both come out of the same factory in Europe.The major differnce being the Australian model is tuned more for the Australias harsher roads. Hey Joe, love your video reviews for Mustangs. You mentioned that the air vents on the front ends are not functional. I have a 2019 GT and my vents are functional. Did they change that from the 18s? Continue to provided great videos.
A 18 19 is for the people who make money 15-17 is a more affordable one and does the job just fine I really wanted a 18 when it came out with the 10 speed but 41k for a base and a 10 speed is way to much . I ended up trading my 17 ecoboost for a never sold 2016 Mustang GT premium with 80 miles on the dash and I’m not getting rid of it to the fact I got a really good deal on it with a very low interest . 10 speed is a different machine . But your not going to be going over 80 mph all the time .
19 looks great. but why have air dams in the hood , while having plastic covers on the engine on both ponys . seems waste a time on air dams. lot of heat soak.

Raiti's Rides I get that, but I’m searching for The Best deal on the coolest looking Camaro, NOT the New one. It seems the 2013 is the last of the cool tail lights , the 2015 is the last of the return design, and the 2017 is the 50th Anniversary. Was there any differences from 2010 to 2013 ?
The smaller opening on the lower grille most likely due to aero. And the “fake” vent is only fake on the performance pack. It’s open on the other models. It again has to do with aero and certain things ford did. Closed it supposedly improved aero.
The only pluses are 10 speed and rev match for manuals, More powerful engine minus all this ticking debacle, active exhaust and rear end, hood heat extractors, optional sound system and PP option for auto equipped cars.
I have a 2016 GT Premium PP and I sold my 2020 to get it. Body styling is way better in the 16s minus the quad tips. I’ll keep my 16’. Also my 16 has a rear diffuser (stock) that looks different and better than the one you’re previewing. Odd

2018-2021 with roush low grill and chin spoiler is a thing of beauty and agressive. 2016-2017 is a beautiful but a bit outdated, specially the rear end.
I had to go back to this one Joe. don't know what will be your opinion, but I think a lot of people are disappointed with the 18-19 GT, it has for sure hold my decision of getting one (manual). The shift forks issue, but the biggest the I see everyday is the engine typewriter tick/piston slap. Honestly WTF is Ford doing, such a beautiful and amazing performance car, but cars going into dealerships with a couple of miles, is unacceptable. It seems also that they don't care on what's going on, just replacing engines and transmissions it's not going to fix this mayor problems, guess what, same thing is going to happen down the road or probably soon after you leave the dealership after waiting months to get a repair. I'm leaning more to the 17 GT Premium PP, a 17 or 18 GT350 or wait and see if the finally fix all the problems, I was also looking at the zl1 and a couple of more sports cars. I really love the features on the 19, but again, i'm really disappointed, a lot of people and true Mustangs car people are. Great video as always Joe.
If it were my money I would be going the direction of the GT350! The tremec is like one of the most perfect gearboxs that I have ever used. Plus the sound of the voodoo engine is second to none! I want to drive a standard ZL1. My only experience with the car is when I drove the Exorcist, and that was just insane! Thank you as always for sharing your great input and perspective!

That is a really good question! I know they are revamping the front of the 2019 SS because of all the complaints they were getting.

true, however the 2018+ comes with that ten speed which is a fantastic transmission.

Really like the older generation headlights, looks far more aggressive. But the rear end is FAR BETTER than the previous generation.
I like the previous generation more in some ways.

All the differences/improvements are things that everyone does with aftermarket mods on the 2015-17 - exhaust, clutch spring, tune, etc
The 19 looks way better than the 16, that’s more than I can say for the camaro that new 19 is terrible compared to the 16!!

I have a 2020 GT and the air vent on the lower portion of the front bumper, does have the opening for air flow.

Joe you are spot on with the Standard interior up grades Ford needs to address. I got to test drive a 2019 with Rev-match and its a real Hoot to Experience with that Coyote sound track... I hope Ford Brings back Lightning Blue for 2020..Velocity blue wants to be Lightning , but just isn't ..I'm Bummed ..

I traded a 16 GT 6sp manual for a. 19 GT 10 sp auto. Loved the stick, love the auto 10 sp and the sound track on the 19 - who needs a stereo?
Love your show , two things , the try bar lights on the front of the 2015-19 were on the first Mustangs 1964 1/2 - 1966 not late 60s , and they were not lights . Do you ever use your turn signals ?????

I had a 2016 and now have a 2019. both beautiful, but the 2019 is a way better car and the front redisign was done for a reason the front hood used to shake going high speads not the new 18-19 make a bid difference.

I like both cars. I prefer the 18-19 overall. One thing I don't like about the 18-19 is the engine cover compared to the older 5.0. I own a 18 base model. No issues so far.

Really good comparison man, I was looking into the used market for a 2016-17 mustang gt but seeing this makes me save up a little more to get a 2018. For me it’s the back of the car the combination with the quad exhaust and rear diffuser with those curved tail lights really make the car just that much better. I’m in the Florida area so by any chance you know of used 2018 Gt let me know Im very interested for buying

The pre-facelift s550 are rated 4.4 0-60 not 4.7. So honestly it's only 2 tenths of a second faster for a Manual option. In my opinion the pre face lift still looks better, and honestly for what you can get them on the used market now its honestly the best bang for your buck rn.

Can you do a review of the 2019 Buick Regal GS V6 Turbo please? I was researching it on Buick's site. Looks pretty cool for a 4 door sedan.

Batman do a search on RUclips for the ZB Holden Commodore reviews which is sold in Australia and is almost identical to the Buick Regal as both come out of the same factory in Europe.The major differnce being the Australian model is tuned more for the Australias harsher roads.

Hey Joe, love your video reviews for Mustangs. You mentioned that the air vents on the front ends are not functional. I have a 2019 GT and my vents are functional. Did they change that from the 18s? Continue to provided great videos.

A 18 19 is for the people who make money 15-17 is a more affordable one and does the job just fine I really wanted a 18 when it came out with the 10 speed but 41k for a base and a 10 speed is way to much . I ended up trading my 17 ecoboost for a never sold 2016 Mustang GT premium with 80 miles on the dash and I’m not getting rid of it to the fact I got a really good deal on it with a very low interest . 10 speed is a different machine . But your not going to be going over 80 mph all the time .

Quad pipes fit in the 2016 also 🤷 not to mention not many people leave any stock exhaust on a mustang.
19 looks great. but why have air dams in the hood , while having plastic covers on the engine on both ponys . seems waste a time on air dams. lot of heat soak.

The smaller opening on the lower grille most likely due to aero. And the “fake” vent is only fake on the performance pack. It’s open on the other models. It again has to do with aero and certain things ford did. Closed it supposedly improved aero.

The 2017 is a really great Mustang! I think for me it comes in the driving experience, and Ford upped the game with the 2019.

The only pluses are 10 speed and rev match for manuals, More powerful engine minus all this ticking debacle, active exhaust and rear end, hood heat extractors, optional sound system and PP option for auto equipped cars.

I have a 2016 GT Premium PP and I sold my 2020 to get it. Body styling is way better in the 16s minus the quad tips. I’ll keep my 16’. Also my 16 has a rear diffuser (stock) that looks different and better than the one you’re previewing. Odd

2018-2021 with roush low grill and chin spoiler is a thing of beauty and agressive. 2016-2017 is a beautiful but a bit outdated, specially the rear end.

I had to go back to this one Joe. don't know what will be your opinion, but I think a lot of people are disappointed with the 18-19 GT, it has for sure hold my decision of getting one (manual). The shift forks issue, but the biggest the I see everyday is the engine typewriter tick/piston slap. Honestly WTF is Ford doing, such a beautiful and amazing performance car, but cars going into dealerships with a couple of miles, is unacceptable. It seems also that they don't care on what's going on, just replacing engines and transmissions it's not going to fix this mayor problems, guess what, same thing is going to happen down the road or probably soon after you leave the dealership after waiting months to get a repair. I'm leaning more to the 17 GT Premium PP, a 17 or 18 GT350 or wait and see if the finally fix all the problems, I was also looking at the zl1 and a couple of more sports cars. I really love the features on the 19, but again, i'm really disappointed, a lot of people and true Mustangs car people are. Great video as always Joe.
If it were my money I would be going the direction of the GT350! The tremec is like one of the most perfect gearboxs that I have ever used. Plus the sound of the voodoo engine is second to none! I want to drive a standard ZL1. My only experience with the car is when I drove the Exorcist, and that was just insane! Thank you as always for sharing your great input and perspective!
