    7:21 is one of his best plays of all time in my opinion, super underrated. The combo of the speed he has to run across the entire backfield, then the strength to catch the RB is out of this world

    Absolutely one of the best video's of Aaron Donald I've watched to date.. PERIOD..!!! Well made.. This video is proof positive of how intelligent and physical AD is, it's all controlled madness out there.. Dude is being double and triple teamed out there and being held on almost every snap yet still finds a way to cause mayhem.. smh

    • @stephenswavely231
      @stephenswavely231 10 месяцев назад

      Well he was never triple teamed in these highlights and only double teamed once... Although it was really just the second blocker picking him up off a spin.
      He is a very fast and strong DT in an era of very few good guards. He's taken advantage of most guards with his speed. This is why he gets destroyed when you run at him. He cannot hold up to guards running at him and he never has. He's essentially a DE playing DT. If only more teams would deploy the same tactic, you'd see a lot more "DT's" looking like him.
      Fans can be such sheep.

      Was gonna say that some of these are clear holding, but he STILL Gets to the QB/ball carrier despite it. One could make a case for him being held on almost every single play, he is that good on getting by the initial block that it sometimes is the only way to stop his clear path to the QB.

    You can't imagine, as a life long Rams fan, no matter where they are, how cool it is to see them have a season like they had last year. I gotta give Jeff Fisher props, unlike all the teams that passed on Donald in the draft, Fisher KNEW what he was looking at. The said he was "undersized". So much for the experts.

    • @alod247
      @alod247 Год назад +2

      To be fair, he was a top 15 pick. The top half of the first round is usually QBs and best player at position of Need. Don’t think the experts necessarily got it wrong. Nobody could’ve seen him being in the running for best defensive player ever.

    • @TheCountofToulouse

      @@alod247 Well, he had won ever single award a defensive lineman can win while in college and people still said 'his game wouldn't translate very well at the NFL level'. I recall the pick when it happened, no one was particularly impressed with it, except the Rams.

      @@TheCountofToulouse I get it. My Seahawks just took Thorpe Award winner Coby Bryant in the 4th round and I’m baffled how the guy who won best defensive back in college slid that far. To me, that’s being overlooked far more than being a top 15 pick. I don’t think Donald would’ve made it out of the first round had the Rams not picked him. With that said, his talent and production says he easily he should’ve been the top player taken so still agree he was somehow underrated

    People who mention that AD is the goat (I assume Defensive GOAT) are a little bit out of touch. Why don't you try and watch Reggie White or Lawrence Taylor highlights and look at sack totals before hyping up AD. Reggie white has the highest average sack per game at 0.853 sacks per game for his career. AD has a 0.772 sacks per game for his career and so far only 128 sacks. He's the only D-Lineman I know that has thrown around Larry Allen of the Cowboys. At one point in his career, he was the only player in NFL history to have more sacks than games played. The Misnister of Defense is the GOAT.

      Bud Donald's Defensive Tackle and more insane thing is that he is a five tech too. And puts up numbers like he is among the greatest LB or Edge rushers in history. If he and LT were to be playing at the same time he'd be ahead of LT by 3 sacks. And he's doing it all with much more restrictions to defensive linemen in this modern era of football. I'm not crowning him or anything like that, but you'd be ignorant if you didn't put Donald in the same category as Reggie White or Lawrence Taylor.

      @@radioactiveape1652 Reggie white was also placed all over the line. LT also covered people aside from rushing as he was a LB. Game plans were made for both Reggie and LT. That's how much of a game changer they were. AD is the best of this generation but he ain't even close to those guy's. He gets more sacks now because teams pass more often now (teams pass more than 60% of the time now. Back then, teams ran the ball more (which is the opposite now, even more so) which makes their accomplishment even better than AD. As the fact that AD isn't even the best at run stopping and the gap widens. Both Reggie and LT were people you couldn't run to.

      @@pkpnyt4711 that's fair. They all have something going for them. I still don't agree with you, but you do make a good point. I find it hard to compare them. linebackers, edgerushers, and defensive tackles are all fundamentally different positions. My main argument is based on the positions that they play tho. While Donald puts up inconceivable numbers for his position you are correct that the league passes more than usual. On the other hand, the league may pass less, but it's harder to play defence (especially as a defensive lineman). I wasn't alive to watch the living legends, so I can only go off of stats and general consensus. If you grew up watching them, then I can understand where your point comes from. It's hard to understand the greatness of players without seeing it myself. (Highlight reels do not capture everything that makes the best players the best).

    Aaron donald is the strongest player no doubt

    Best defensive player of all time Shannon!? Haha I thought he was gonna say lineman. No doubt top 5 D lineman of all time. Prolly top 3 if we’re real about how strength and conditioning have evolved. But defensive player “come on Shan” lol now that’s some unapologetic hyperbole. But god damn. We lucky af to be getting to watch Aaron Donald rule the D line at any position. I mean, bruh, it’s just not even funny. Like when era arguments come into play Aaron Donald is my guy to be like yo, you gotta acknowledge that Aaron Donald would fuck up some players from decades past. Like I love all eras and players and some translate in any era but Aaron is a new kinda man. Bring up all the huge dudes like the fridge you want. This dudes got a Fuckin semi truck 8 pack. What do you even think to yourself as an O lineman prepping for him during the week. Just not think about it? 😅
    And yo this is coming from a looong time die hard niners fan who got to watch Justin smith. And when you’re as good as Aaron Donald. Ain’t no rivalry that’s gonna stop a fan from appreciating. And personality wise I think he’s low key like a meaner version of Suh but measured.. Fuckin get the fuck out the way. Like I think he Fuckin hides actually being as much of an agro as suh and just jedi minds that same aggression into a scarier zen of pass rushing and run defense. Aite im done 😅
    Last addtion lmao. The Rich Eisen edit is great. If you’ve done madden fantasy drafts. You know how much is riding on picking a D lineman early. If you do it they gotta produce. When you talk about being worth every penny, now is My turn to do some overhyped hyperbole. Aaron Donald is probably worth every penny and more. And I guarantee the experts who get paid to watch his game film. Would agree.

      So was the patriots offense. 13 points off of all those 3 and outs.

      Bro played a role in containing the patriots to 13 points. Only so much he can do when the offense puts up 3 points.
