It’s a rarity in sports to have your favorite team have an all-time great player during the peak of their powers. Like you, I’m a life-long Rams fan, but too young to remember the GSOT Rams, so most of my life growing up they were bad/mediocre. Since AD showed up, it’s like a brand new franchise. Will never take for granted watching him dominate on defense, week after week, like only a handful of players in league history have. Just so lucky this legend played every down with the horns on his helmet. Thank you AD, for everything. Get that #99 in the rafters. Like you said, the greatest Ram ever.

    "He revolutionized the defensive game"
No, no he did not. He exemplified it played at a very high level and will be known as a gold standard example yes. But he did not do something like Floosbury (high jump 'flop') or Gogolach (Soccer style football kicking) where the sport has to be measured in a pre and post their involvement era. Nothing about him fundamentally changed the way that any aspect of the game way played, aka "revolutionizing" it.
One of the best of all time (measuring across eras is inaccurate and unfair) but I just dont like seeing that terminology thrown around where it doesn't apply so often.

I was surprised that you didn’t mention JJ Watt in this. To me, his start to a career was more dominant and incredible than anyone I’ve ever seen, probably including Donald. It sucks that injuries stopped that trajectory - he seemed destined to break so many records. Donald is a freak though. Insane player and easily top 5 all time pass rusher.

JJ Watt is a DE, the fact that AD's stats are being compared to his as a DT is what makes Aaron Donald better lol

@@nabeelhussain3556 My memory may be off, but wasn't JJ a 3-4 DE most of his career, which is mostly equivalent to what Donald has played mostly.

Donald and JJ definitely played in different positions. Even if listed in the same role
