I'm in the US and have this MB. I defy anyone to locate a copy of the applicable warranty text. It isn't on the carton, in the carton, in the owners manual or on their website. This is probably true for all their computer components. There is only a reference to a couple of changes to the document, but no document. That seems like a very narrow space around the CPU socket. Radiators are very tall and this board is NOT compatible with bequiet Dark Rock Pro cooler. I suspect it's not compatible with most dual tower air coolers :(
I'm confused why you would call this a low end to middle tier motherboard. Spec wise, it's actually one of the higher end DDR4 boards on the market. Are you sure you're got this right? This board literally has all of the high-end features other than just a few missing things. 1 ethernet port rather than 2, 2 less USB ports and no DAC for audio. Everything else is evenly matched. I'm in the US and I paid $350 + tax. This is a fantastic board.

Translation into non pc speaker language? Ive got every part for my first pc besides my motherboard and i planned on getting this but its out of stock, all i really understood was its a low to mid tier motherboard and the temperatures were high which scared me😂
It was difficult to find compatible RAM over 4 GHz for this mobo. I returned and exchanged at least 4 RAMS already. I even had to downclock my RAM from 4400 to 4000 to make it stable.
i do want to say i have this motherboard the only asus strix with ddr 4. but that single fan conector by the 2 x 8 pin cpu power is the cpu opt header that controls from main cpu fan no way in bios at the moment to control the speed on its own

Also, watching your video further, you just didn't spend enough time with the CPU and board. I guess this is the inherent problem of producing video content is that your on a time crunch and don't have the time to do a deep dive. You don't need a 12900K or DDR5. Anyone doing the correct and proper research will already know this prior to buying anything. In Cinebench R23 I scored 21000 points for multicore.
Why are you hoarding the DDR5 if you aren't using it? If you are going to wait a while before upgrading you can probably find much better DDR5 at a better price. I don't want it, just curious.

Issue with z690 hero or this one?
@@JeyC_ I have sent back my Asus z690 hero for RMA
I have received full refund.
I dont know anyone calling this board low range. Mid range sure but never heard anyone say low range.
Unfortunately all the new Strix boards are incompatible with Noctua NH-U12A coolers.
wdym ? Are you talking about this board ?
That seems like a very narrow space around the CPU socket. Radiators are very tall and this board is NOT compatible with bequiet Dark Rock Pro cooler. I suspect it's not compatible with most dual tower air coolers :(
fits aio liquid freezer 2
@@666Necropsy Again: AIR coolers.
Holy shit that's a giant case.
I was wondering this myself. Isn't this the best z690 ddr4 board asus offers?
hows tuf edition?
How do we change the rgb?
Do i need to connect the dual 8pin cpu power if i dont plan to overclock
does it non k overclock?
ya i had the same mobo and a coolermaster td500 and a h150i 360mm cooler and the ram and the heatsink on the mobo was getting in the way when I tried to mount the cooler on the top
Translation into non pc speaker language? Ive got every part for my first pc besides my motherboard and i planned on getting this but its out of stock, all i really understood was its a low to mid tier motherboard and the temperatures were high which scared me😂
I waited ages to get the white hellhound for my white build to get it home for it to artifact everywhere, swapped it for the Sapphire nitro +
I have this MB and when I turned on AI OC it looked all p and e cores to 4.1 ghz. Weird and a huge performance loss.
17:14 i think we can change that acrylic tho..... i gonna engrave costum acrylic for that i think....
That might be the sexiest looking motherboard.
When a review of Asrock Z690 Taichi? :)
Nothing planned, Asrock dont ever contact me
ddr5 prices are ridiculous atm... I really wanted the 690E though....
Now that’s a case 🤩😳!
I see many people have this MB, can someone please tell me if the audio code is good?
What AIO is that? :O
It was difficult to find compatible RAM over 4 GHz for this mobo. I returned and exchanged at least 4 RAMS already. I even had to downclock my RAM from 4400 to 4000 to make it stable.
Ive got the gskill trident z neo @3.600 will that be enough?
You are wasting your money on high frequency ram anyway. You are better off with ddr4 3200 cl14 or cl16
@@mikerzisu9508 wrong, so wrong
@@666Necropsy You are correct. I ended up going with ddr5 in my current build
@@mikerzisu9508 ddr4 gear 1 at 400mhz smokes just about any ddr5 unless ur at ddr5 8000mhz
Can it be OC non k cpu?
🎶 I see a white board and I want to paint it black... 🎶
Could an AIO cooler like a LGA 1151 would fit this motherboard?
It’s lga 1700 so no
i do want to say i have this motherboard the only asus strix with ddr 4. but that single fan conector by the 2 x 8 pin cpu power is the cpu opt header that controls from main cpu fan no way in bios at the moment to control the speed on its own
Anyone can tell me what is the fastest ram speed on this mobo? Gear 1 preferably
I'll found this motherboard very cool in the aesthetics apart from the functionality of course and the best part is DDR4 model variant for at least to going not too expensive while keeping your ddr4 memories, my question is ¿worth at now change to the new generation?, am using Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 7, i5-8500 3.0 ghz, i'll found very attractive the i5-12500, but the prices is what i'll dislike right now, it's too expensive for the investment. ¿Keeping what i'll have or change mb+cpu?
Why is it black?
I have this motherboard and sound software is so bad, sonic stusio basicly breaking your sound,Yeah U can instal without it,but what the point if u cant use motherboard feature
U dont need both 8 pin for cpu power, one is enough, one 8pin can provide over 280wats, unless u doing some next level overclocking one 8 pin is enough
Headroom is always nice, that's nothing to complain about. Especially considering that the 12900K is pushing 240-250W.
Thanks, Tom. Ugh, driver CD instead of thumb drive
My 1080ti Strix won't fit into this motherboard smh
Just bought this board - hoped it was on the high end lol 😂 in the first minute of the review it not 😂😂😂 I did get a good deal at Overclockers for the board and 12700
The only thing that was high end. Was the price! Lol
It is the best ddr4 board asus offers
Too bad this isn’t in stock… got the i9 12900k just need the mobo
it’s awesome
Can someone help me a little ? :D
Im currently trying to Build a PC and the only thing im looking for is the Motherboard.
Current Components: Intel Core i9-12900K, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB | Palit GameRock LHR and 32GB DDR4-3600 G.Skill Trident Z Neo | 2x 16GB. (Not Included are the SSD NvMe and the Power supply)
Im looking for a good white Motherboard and I reall like the Design of the ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4 | Intel Z690. Does anyone have any expierience with this Motherboard? And can somebody tell me if its compatible with my Components?
Would be a really great help :)
Just bought this for a 12900k, 4 x 8gb @ 5333mhz (ddr4). DDR5 is overrated for the next 1-2 years. The premium in price is not worth it either.
Big ask getting DDR4 to work that high reliably tbh
I want the most expensive and best ddr4 z690 motherboard. Which is it?!?!
Please help me!!!!
Price is no issue. I want the best.
I currently have a 12900k, 3090 ftw3 hybrid, latest 420 Corsair AIO, 7000D airflow.
I’m ordering the 4tb 530 firecuda
I will get 64 gb of the fastest ddr4 with the lowest latency
I’m buying some streaming stuff as well.
You wont need 64GB of VRAM - NVME wise why not look at the Sabrent drives
@@OC3D isn’t 64 better than 32 for gaming, steaming, video editing?
Also, watching your video further, you just didn't spend enough time with the CPU and board. I guess this is the inherent problem of producing video content is that your on a time crunch and don't have the time to do a deep dive. You don't need a 12900K or DDR5. Anyone doing the correct and proper research will already know this prior to buying anything. In Cinebench R23 I scored 21000 points for multicore.
What is that aio in his build
The new corsair elite 150i lcd
I'm sticking with 11900k. F windows 11. Plus I have 2 ddr 5 memory kits my possession.
Why did you prefer the 11900k over the 10900k?
Why are you hoarding the DDR5 if you aren't using it? If you are going to wait a while before upgrading you can probably find much better DDR5 at a better price. I don't want it, just curious.
When ddr5 is here and ddr4 is gone, we are going to look at these boards and wonder why we ever wasted money on them.
Wife is already there.
