The biggest upset for me here is erasing history from the map. The whole point is that 2b2t has been using this map for it's entire history, and after all this time your gonna start trimming chunks and deleting illegally placed blocks? It just goes against the whole philosophy of the server
its all good man. the map is the same. and the original intention for "anarchy" was "raid whoever you want", not "use cheats and exploits", look at HM's own server rules from a million years ago...
when you consider the several years 2b2t spent being in a version in which elytra existed but because of a plugin weren't allowed to be used, it doesn't seem like it was ever actually an anarchy server to be honest
Imagine crying about change, you sound like a young adult who have never experienced real life.... Shit happens, you will be broken by the age of 30 of you think this a HUGE change 💀. Good luck with the real world kids
Wow...that is insane. It actually happened. 2b2t turned into a smp with strict rules. That is just sad. I loved watching 2b2t videos because this server was so different and had such a deep history.
The number of times I’ve heard 2b2t players say “admin never intervenes!!!” and there’s 50 vids of that guy destroying end portals or messing with people’s inventories
The only thing bad about this update is that it possibly unleashed all those dastardly players who lived to make another player's lives miserable in some other servers out there. It's like opening Pandora's box.
Yeah, on one hand, it's good that this toxic hellscape has been purged, but like you said, they are gonna flood the other servers now and unleash hell for anyone trying to enjoy the game
@@DoktorSusNo they wont. Contrary to popular belief, 2b2t isnt toxic in the slightest. What will likely happen is that they go to other anarchy servers, which are usually all considerably more toxic
@@universenerdd yeah, except for that one group of hackers that originated from 2b2t and started griefing every server with no protection by using a bot. I doubt that something like that won't spill over again.
The ONLY thing that makes 2b2t appealing is the extreme trust in the admins that has been built over time that your valuable progress will never get reset, and you can discover stashes filled with treasure. Now its lost that. This makes this server no more appealing than any other clone, and considering those have built all sorts of crazy history and that RUclips exists to document all the interesting stuff, there isn't much of a point to 2b2t.This server won't have long to live.
It’s so sad to see such a important server to Minecraft’s history get shut down like this. It would have been better of the owner sold it to someone who cares instead of ruining it.
Turning 2b2t into a survival Minecraft server with resets and rules is like Elon Musk renaming Twitter to X. We truly live in the weirdest timeline. Edit: hehe, arguments go brrrrrr
@@reapiu8316wym "get away with it"? its not illegal to make a change to something you OWN. sure, communities can protest or whatever and don't have to be happy about a certain change, but it doesn't mean they arent allowed to change their own product.

Eh, been 13 years. Frankly not sure why people aren't happy it at least lasted this long Seems like the overall gaming community as a whole has lost perception of time itself
@@someone-ji2zbwell, I'm sure in the future people will think that. For now people are mad because the changes were just made with no warning. Also it has been 13 years, but people were expecting it to end by the server owner deciding he's had enough and announcing the shutdown. But this is completely different, as he's showing that he's still capable of running the same server, the problem being that the new changes are extremely out of touch and destroy tons of important server history. It's just incredibly frustrating to not only have an important server ended but have the end be not by some final shutdown but because of some insane changes that kill all the fun in it.
If they have a backup, it isn't, but a backup has a shelf life. The longer you take to do a rollback, the fewer people will want a rollback thanks to new projects that would be lost Granted 2B2T would take a very long time to get to that stage, but it will eventually happen
Coming from an outsiders perspective, I never played 2b2t, but I loved the history and uniqueness of no rules. Along with the fact that it never resets was so cool to me. This new update to the server seems to do more harm than good and almost goes against the roots of 2b2t based on what I've learned about the server.
It literally does more good than harm. The point of the update is to obviously make the server more playable. Not just mass team dupes and end crystal fights. He took a big chance in making these changes and itll definitely be more interesting with people needing to actually think instead of just using a script to do everything

@@nathanclark9792 While I understand your point, the entire appeal of an anarchy server... is anarchy. The server is now just a survival server. Another appeal of the server was the history that came along with, which housemaster has also messed with and while it has not destroyed all of the history, tampering with it goes against one of the biggest appeals of the server. This update is good for newer players, not older ones which have dedicated their time to the server.
hey, the next best option is 9b. 2016 map, has a lot of relics too such as glitched 24 hp skelly horses or that one huge nebula mapart plus there are only a few seconds of queue. i used to play on it and to be honest, the non-existent queue is the biggest appeal to me and best yet, i'm pretty sure they're running 1.19 too!
I’m sure there will be some sort of rehosting. Whether it be a simple museum of the world or a full fledged anarchy server- someone will rise to the challenge to keep it alive.
I wonder what the upkeep costs would be for someone rehosting the server.... I feel like we're going to see a Kickstarter in the coming months. I can't believe chunk trails are gone, they're a part of the history of the server's map. Obv the item changes are bad as well, but man, deleting parts of the map like that feels damaging to the core of the server.
Can't believe I get to see the downfall of 2b2t, live. I have never played it, and don't have any emotional attachment to it myself, but it was a home for so many people and seeing it go is like witnessing a historic event. Then again, nothing really lasts forever, things come to an end eventually, it's just sad to see it go in this way. Edit: Nevermind issues have been fixed It's alive again lol
"I want my progress to last" which is why I own/control every server I spin up. I used to play on a MP server when I was a younger, came back a day later and all my stuff was gone. Undeterred I learned about traps and eventually servers got land protection. Then came the periodic resets every month or so. And that's how I learned to mod, host my own servers and much more.
So here it is. 2B2T came to an end. 2010 to 2023 is quite a long life. But its still quite sad to see the "oldest anarchy server in Minecraft" become something else with no reason.
@@PalmDevsnah. Most servers have a plug-in to avoid it or just outright have their own reporting system. Not to mention it’s doubtful that the EULA is the main cause because I’ve heard 2b2t has been managed differently for a long time. Hausemaster doesn’t have any trace online anymore and hasn’t been the owner since the ye old days. So the change to 1.19 probably came from a whim situation and the aftermath was them trying to make it a survival server like the staff have been pushing. Though that’s just here say. I’m sure it’s a mix of both but it’s definitely not 100% because of the changes of EULA.
😢im glad fit is atleast triwing in qsmp, so he wont suffer from it too badly and loose everything too but i did hope someday he n ramon couldve playd 2b2t together but oh well a tragedy
Well, With the recent EULA changes it was bound to happen someday. The issues with these minecraft updates that i've noticed is they use the Nintendo strategy. They update the terms and it becomes controversial, Then they announce a shiny new update in your face as misdirection.
Since 2014, it has become more clearer than ever that the 2nd owner had a different directive for this server. I mean, the obvious personality change was immediately apparent when the old Swedish owner folded July that year. That guy has never been heard about since.
To run the server, they'd need server grade ssds, and at least 2, if not more for raid redundancy. Itll probably cost more, but still perfectly affordable with all the priority queues
You’re so real for your decision. Quitting making 2b2t content as one of its largest creators can be a huge risk, but I couldn’t be happier about you dedicating to it. You’re not just a simple 2b2t youtuber, you’re an ANARCHY youtuber, and you let it shine. Don’t worry king, we’ll stick with you no matter where you go. 🙏
I've been watching 2b2t videos since I was 10, and now 5 years later I have to see it all collapse. I didn't play it much, but seeing something I've studied for years fall apart in front of me is awful.
@@pumkin610 It's not going back to normal..chunks were reset, people's storages were reset, no undoing that all. And the rules are already set. No point in housemaster doing all of this if it's gonna be undone in a day or few, this is just how 2b2t is now
I’m pretty sure they would have made a back up before changing all of that and deleting everything incase something corrupted. It would make no sense not to. It is very possible that these changes could be reversed. And it’s not like they still have the reputation of the server that never resets so that really wouldn’t be an issue
It's amazing that 2b2t has come this far and has run for this long. A multi-terabyte Minecraft world is an engineering marvel in itself, and I'm amazed they were able to go this far without doing something like this. However these changes are way out of character for 2b2t, I never even played the server but I know how "off base" this update is. I hope they reach a place where this is but a blip on their decades of history, 2b2t can't die!
I never really played 2b2t but I loved watching the silly little Minecraft documentaries of this silly but also unimaginably massive server. The whole appeal was that this server has history, and people are still creating this history like a time capsule that's still open. This just ruins the concept of what 2b2t is. Pushing the limits and developing new cheats and exploits are so interesting and fun, it was a whole unique experience even to watch. When players have 100% freedom it breeds new ideas, but that aspect is completely lost.
2B2T pretty much was the embodiment of what Minecraft was created to be. For people to test their creativity. Not only via building, but also via developing exploits and cheats
@@plaguenplay3516and yet Microsoft came in honestly if a mod for infinite world generation where to come to terraria I bet you anything that most anarchy players will switch
I'm thinking the EULA was the final nail in the coffin here. Why has literally every single organization/company made the absolute worst possible decisions they could make in the last year or so? 2b2t, Mojang, Microsoft, RUclips, Twitter (now X), Reddit, Discord, just to name a few. Seems like every executive or leader has decided to run their business into the ground
They're planning on convincing the new generation (the ones that watch tablets all day) that this is the norm and to not complain. They don't know any better.
It’s sad that they aren’t getting enough pushback either. When you see a company do this they lose a few million at most and that’s very little to their profits. We really need regulations for SM like that. It’s sad that we the consumer can’t do anything when it’s brushed off so quickly because of the other shit in the world. Preservation and owning of content is less and less these days and I can’t tell you how bad that is for the consumer. No one is standing up for it and it’s so irritating.
They all have investor retardation happens a lot with companies that grow so large, instead of focusing on long term gains and providing quality products, they instead huff out cheap changes or products and follow trends.
Lately it's been like Minecraft has been cursed with failure. Everyone's suddenly making drastically horrible decisions like they're _trying_ to kill the game off. It's so weird.
Vanilla anarchy has existed before and some people prefer it but personally idk why 2b had to do this. I think it might be preparing the player base for the EULA changes
As usual with 2b2t, you can see it philosophically. Everything in the universe is a physical structure, when things lose their shape entirely then they have lost memories/data, lost their entire identity.
Idk what is happening so many big company's and game developers are making the worst possible decisions ever and driving their game completely into the ground. This is truly the weirdest timeline that we are in.
I’ve been following 2B2T for over a year now and have never played on the server yet I am deeply saddened by these changes. The idea of a true “no rules” server was enthralling. People who would work out trigonometry for hours just to find a base, and from there grief it or maybe even join. The idea of something I built lasting for 10 years on a server with no resets is something I can’t find anywhere else. I truly hope these changes are reverted because 2B2T needs anarchy.
tbf have you seen how microsoft has been acting lately and all the new rules and guidelines? with them threatening to forcibly remove anything public that doesnt fit thier bullshit agenda id be surprised if more servers dont make the same moves
My wifi was possessed by a evil spirit, i named it and killed it as a boss in some game with the same name, wifi got better like originally like minutes after.
I don't think 2b2t is really at fault here. It's the never ending changes that mojang and Microsoft are doing to the EULA that has probably forced house masters hand to do so
Man, this is not what I expected. It's very sad to see this happen to 2b2t. I've never really played on it except to escape spawn, which was fun, but I love all the material about it. It's a fascinating place. Everything to do with Minecraft is going downhill these days. First Microsoft and now this.
I totally agree with this, The literally only reason people even played on 2b2t was for the chaotic and anarchy experience, the never resetting world, and all of the memories/history. I haven’t really played 2b2t in a while but I do hope House reverts all/most of these Changes.
i'm just glad I played when i did. i'll probably never return to the server but the months i spent on there were some of the best of my minecraft playing time.
@@herobrineapril8451 "Real" anarchy ends up being impossible to play, with no anticheat and everyone having access to creative mode. Intervention is required for servers to run, and so the idea of anarchy is more of a collective larp the players and admins agree on.

@@MrJohansen A lot of people might not know but 2b2t is no longer an anarchy server for quite a long time now despite of its branding. The real hausemaster has left since August 2014. Currently it’s being managed by a team. The Swedish guy is a lot more friendly then his rather apathetic American friend that currently runs the server along with a group of people. The real dude no longer exists on the web now, all traces of him on the internet has been cut off for a long time. This is why most 2b2t content creators call the current owner “Hause” instead of “Hausemaster”
the owner wanted more new players to join, and in the process pissed off all the existing players which are the ones actually keeping the server alive. masterful play right there truly
It kinda had to happen to give the old players a wake up call, most “existing” players don’t even know anarchy and call anything anarchy. Every anarchy has rules, 2b2t has just finally released them. Any sort of plug-in is a hidden rule, many existing players are just to gullible to see it that way.
I don't play 2b2t. The whole anarchy scene doesn't really appeal to me, but I do like the idea of no map resets. I never thought I'd see the day where a server that has no rules has a rules tab on its website. Whats next? Don't hurt players feelings in chat? They need to revert these changes, and I stand behind you Sal, as someone who doesn't play in it though, I don't really know what I can do to help

@@darth3911 Well, in that case, the admins may just continue to lose money due to many players refunding their priority access Also, saying that a server will never reset when, in fact, it was partially reset is just false advertising and, therefore, cannot be trusted and that is a scam

Its pretty much like Anarchism irl. "Thank you for fighting against the oppressive government, Comrades! Anyways here's the bulletin board with the curfew times, the lunch schedules, the forms you need to fill out to get internet and central heating..."
Man, I'm gonna be completely honest, I played on 2b2t once. I had gamepass, launched mc java, and decided to wait for the queue, and I didn't want to try and achieve anything there, I just wanted to look at the left over pieces of history. Even found a friendly dude who was full kitted, I asked him about some of the locations that I knew about, and he told me where to find them. I probably was travelling for like 5 hours, just to see the beauty of the server. I saw a sh*t ton of maps and books on my way there, and I really enjoyed my time on the server, somehow only died like 4 times in the first 25 minutes. Really sad that it's ruined now
Griefing and admin abuse aside, this is why I always preferred playing SP. Starting a new world is nice and all but I have no control over that and I can never go back to look at my old builds.
Wow, I've personally never played on 2b2t but I absolutely loved videos documenting it. I loved all the little easter eggs and surprises people discovered, the only reasons these exist because it was an anarchy server. This is absolutely an end of an era if Housemaster doesn't change his mind.
I feel like he is trying to open it to a bigger audience and maybe try and grow it into a bigger survival world. I think no new players wanted to start playing on there and with a slight setback and slight rules it opens up to a greater market share at the cost of the old one. its a gamble but if he gets the right people on it to advertise it may be bigger then ever
@@Jogorkuu But would it really still be good with the new audience? Even if, then it still won't be the same. 2b2t has a long history defined by anarchy, cheats and dupes. I don't play 2b2t. The whole anarchy scene doesn't really appeal to me, but I do like the idea of no map resets. I never thought I'd see the day where a server that has no rules has a rules tab on its website. Whats next? Don't hurt players feelings in chat? They need to revert these changes, and I stand behind you Sal, as someone who doesn't play in it though, I don't really know what I can do to help
straight facts
"anarchy" 😂
"Don't hurt players feelings in chat?" That's actually a rule now on this anarchy server
@@minecraftminertime thats enforced through mojang, not 2b2t
Haus is trying to abide to Minecraft's new EULA, nothing he is doing here is out of his own will.
I was literally trying to cope with the update, but this video just gave me motivation to refund my prio queue and to quit 2b2t until the server admins revert all these changes. Thank you!
Changes are not being reverted because they are all within the single rule of 2b2t.
That being to “Not do anything which hurts /slows the server”.
@@darth3911 Well, in that case, the admins may just continue to lose money due to many players refunding their priority access
Also, saying that a server will never reset when, in fact, it was partially reset is just false advertising and, therefore, cannot be trusted and that is a scam
@@haiyan_haiyan Priority access is banned under Mojangs new TOS.
@@darth3911Take the wind right out of their sails, why don't yah? Lol
@@haiyan_haiyanI find the changes good it will help with progression and to help with tps issues
This is unironically the best change ever

I’ve heard some of the negatives online and how they are removing alot of hacks and ALOT of things that make 2b2t an anarchy server. Crystal pvp is a prime example
Its pretty much like Anarchism irl. "Thank you for fighting against the oppressive government, Comrades! Anyways here's the bulletin board with the curfew times, the lunch schedules, the forms you need to fill out to get internet and central heating..."
Hause should have just made a brand new server with all the changes he made to this one
@@_Devil is that how it happened? from what I remember, bolsheviks in the Russian Revolution just straight-up killed anarchists.

Fun fact: Hausemaster is basically a german/english mix-up word for Janitor. That's what they should be called from now on.
Janny
As apparently they say in 4chan: clean up jannies!
@@RainbowGod666 It's lagging again... trim the chunks jannie
Hausemaster What doesn't make the Map Restored but Remove all kind of Player Items
Na dann schießt mal los und Farmt Items
If Hausemaster wanted a big survival server, then he should've just made a new one instead of completely shaping something with a legacy into something else. This is some Ship of Theseus shit right here.
💀💀 You guys are stupid tou didn't even understand what the update is, for 2b2t players it's literally still the same, the rules are still the same since the beginning, "just don't fck up the server".
@@holyroman6541probably cause a good amount of the people who want to join may not have hacks like me so maybe Hause wants a more even playing field
@@holyroman6541agreed I was thinking this the whole video. If he wants a server with rules, just start a new one. Something that’s still wild and almost lawless but with the newest update in place. Updating the old one is fine if nothing is touched, the playerbase will still be able to access the updated content by moving. Sounds like he worried about the map growing many terabytes but like salc1 said, just buy more storage, he’s obviously still making money off the server, and is greeding even more trying to attract newer players. Salc1 is so right he could have gone a different route that would have made almost no one upset
