In this video, we explore how the Pallikaranai marshland could hold the key to addressing all three major water-related challenges. Located strategically, the Pallikaranai marshland has the potential to serve as a natural reservoir, storing water during the dry seasons and preventing flooding by absorbing excess water during heavy rains. However, rampant misuse of this marshland, turning it into a dump yard, has exacerbated water pollution issues, posing a significant hurdle to effective water management. Fortunately, the Tamil Nadu government has initiated a biomining project aimed at reclaiming the Pallikaranai marshland from its current degraded state. However, the execution of this project has been flawed, leading to unintended consequences such as air pollution. In this video, we discuss the safe and secure methods to leverage biomining techniques effectively, ensuring that Chennai not only overcomes its water crisis but also safeguards its environment and public health. Some people think segregating waste is a tedious job. Just maintain two bins one for bio degradable and one for non degradable. While discarding the waste put them into the respective bins. It's simple.
I have seen several people who don't want to segregate the waste. They just dump their trash into the nearest dust bins. So everyone needs to be educated.
That's absolutely correct.
I also tried to bring that two bin system in my home. But waste collectors (thuppuravu vuliyarkal) are coming in single vehicle, they dumb all waste in that single vehicle only. Now what is the use of my two bin system? 😂

Just in March went to a hostel in Pallikaranai ie near Chennaione... It is not safe place to live. Snacks are coming to hostel because every building is surrounded by barbage and drainage. Worst smell coming.
