    I'm very glad that this video is doing so well, but please keep in mind that when i bought this bike i was very unfamiliar with 2 strokes, and that a 125 and 250 looked the same to me. I had never owned, ridden, or even been around one until i had this bike. Thank you to those that understand! Keep twisting that throttle everyone!

      @basedlord88 2 года назад

      People who complain about 125s not being fast are people who can’t ride 125s fast because it takes actual skill, it’s like working a musical instrument, usually lazy riders who ride the tracks in the wrong gear and have no clutch/throttle control but are saved by the torque of a 4 stroke. 125 is the most fun bike to ride fast but it takes a skilled rider to ride them fast

    I know this is an old video, but I had a somewhat similar situation. I bought a bike that was advertised as a YZ 465. When I got it home, and took off the gas cap to put in more gas, I saw that the tank was blue inside (all the plastic was covered with some black plastidip kind of coating) - the trademark Yamaha IT colour. It ended up being an IT 465. I was disappointed at first that it wasn't what I paid for, until I remembered that I rode an IT 175 as a teen and loved it. The IT is from the old International Six Day Trials events, and was a big two stroke Enduro legend - I LOVE that IT 465, and I'm glad it wasn't the bike I thought I was getting.

    • @100GTAGUY
      @100GTAGUY 4 года назад

      Brian Morrison I think it depends on local jurisdictions and the manner of the transaction etc, when I bought my first dirt bike from someone who posted it on their front lawn with a for sale sign all I needed was a bill of sale for proof of ownership but when I got my second bike from a dealership in the same place we had to get it titled as an off highway vehicle and had to place a decal on the front forks and also received a bill of sale.

    • @noreaster4194
      @noreaster4194 4 года назад +1

      @Butt Hurtz To my knowledge dirt bikes didn't come with titles until I think 2005 when it was required. I know some states might require dirt bikes to be titled for offroad use so you'd need to apply for one. But like where I live a bill of sale for used bikes or certificate of origin for new bikes is the only required documentation for OHRV registration. The VIN is how you really determine if its stolen.

    I see your point, but I rode a 250 2t at 13 and I was fast...and my first bike (of my own) when I was a kid was a kx125. At first I needed cinder blocks to get on it. I feel like learning on a bike that is too big for me helped me be more advanced in the long run. Because if you can ride a 450 we'll, you can probably ride any other bike correct me if I'm wrong. Idk, I personally feel like being on a big bike allowed me to be better.

The easiest way to tell a 125 apart from a 250 is an easy cylinder inspection, it will say 125cm or 250cm on the base of the cylinder. Good luck on the new bike and make sure to follow the service manual to a T.

      @@deadpopper7004 really just depends on the type of rider you are. I bet you could handle either if you have past experience. I’d say if you are responsible, you could start on a 250. If you want to improve yourself as a rider, then definitely the 125. From what most people say, it can do anything a 250 can do albeit a little slower as long as it has the right rider. Not to say it is slow, I am 190lbs. and I’ve gone crazy fast on it even uphill (all about staying in the powerband) If you ride on the mx track, either could work. Again, 125 requires more skill as a rider. On the trails, you would be able to open up the 125 more like it should be. It is also a lighter bike which would be easier to flick in the ruts. But if you want balls to the wall power, speed, and torque, I cannot deny that the 250 provides that.

    Yeah, I'm good. Never owned a 125 2T but I've owned 3 250 2Ts ('98 KX, '02 KX, 00 CR). 2 ran like a bat out of Hell ('02 and '00) and the other ran like a 4 stroke ('98) but could get wheelies in every gear. To tell you the truth, I kinda liked that bike because of it's low power band; didn't have to death grip the handlebars when racing around or waiting on thst powerband.
    Imo, 250 is the best of the 3 large CC bikes (125, 250, 500). It's all the power you need and parts aren't hard to find.
    250s run on the edge of "yeah, I could give it more throttle but I don't really need to" / 125 being "man, wish I had more throttle sometimes, though the bike is fun to ride" / 500 with "huh, there's more throt--, HOLY S---!!"
    125s can hang with 250s if not trying to race; my cousin had a YZ 125 when I had the '98 and he hung with me but there was something odd about that 250, could have been the sprocket size cause it had a new top end but that thing had as much top end as a 125 unless my cousin was redlining his when we raced them to prove a point🤔 Which is possible..

    Not trying to dog your life but someone who cant tell the difference between a 125 and 250 should not be telling people 1. That bike is fast because its not. At all. 2. Most people who ride 250's should be on a 125. 250s have much more bottom end than any 125 which would be much more practical in trails not down dirt roads all day. 3. 450s are easier to "go fast" maybe true in a straight line but not true anywhere else. Trails or track its hard to control and the tire rips right out from under you. However i can agree with learning how to clutch it and staying on the pipe can be benificial in the long run. Ive had 125's,250's(4 stroke and 2 strokes), and 450's. The best bike hands down by far is the 250 2 stroke if you have any experience on a dirt bike you can ride it well and soon master it. That bike probably is a great fit for you though. Top speed around 60, not much power, and fun to ride in a straight line. Occasionally go to the track and hit the tabletop and try all day to clear it. With your buddy recording on the far side until you finally make it then post a youtube video labeled "SENDING IT ON THE 125"

      nick karch he isnt racing he is trail riding, the minuscule performance upgrade from engine braking isnt worth the extra wear on the top end. not to mention that 2 strokes have very little compression braking. so do some research before commenting. these bikes are not four stokes therefor the riding style is different

    you can usually identify the engine size on two strokes by the size of the head pipe but i understand if someone doesnt know the difference

    in 1999 when I was 15 I was lucky enough to be bought a brand new one and let me tell you now. I have owned an A-Z of mx bikes and road bikes, including 1000 cc sport bikes,, gixxers R1s ect and never have I owned a bike that I had more fun with EVER. I got a kx 450 now for my off road horse but I have a mind to get one of these too to play on coz they're fucking awesome!!!
