      you can easily bend it back with heat fabricators do it all the time

    • @jth_printed_designs

      @@2stroketyson79 Not really, as then you effect the temper of the metal. The “T6” that you see at the end of 6061 or 7075 refers to the heat treatment used to strengthen the metal. If you heat up the bar to the point where it will now bend, it will not be as strong as it should be.

    I dig your shakedown! We always hit plastics, bars, grips, seat covers and graphics to set it off. Its insane the amount of neglect all these used bikes endure. A little elbow grease and love can really revive a bike and give it another shot at life. Before we beat the living piss out of them I guess..

    If you invest in a TIG welder, you can cut out the dented section, hammer the dents out, then tig weld it back together. It'd be worth it if you plan on doing a lot of these bikes since virtually every old dirt bike has a dented pipe.

    To get the dents out of the pipe, fill it with water then stick it in the freezer. The water/ice expands, and as the ends freeze first, it seals the rest of it in. Gets rid of most larger dents! Especially on 2 strokes 👍

    • @jth_printed_designs

      Good way to split your pipe! This works great on 4 stroke headers where the volume of water is lower, but if you fill a 2 stroke pipe and freeze it, the volume of water is larger and therefore the degree of expansion is larger.
      Only way I would ever recommend freezing a 2 stroke pipe is if you’re going to babysit it and look at it every half hour.

  • @fedthegoon
    @fedthegoon 3 года назад

    Hey I have a tip for dents on pipes try it out some time fill up the pipe all the way with water as much as you can put it in a dresser wait till it’s all frozen then wait for it to try off and turn into water dump it out and you should have a lot way less dents

    Yamaha has hands down the best sounding 2 strokes. Just switched to a KTM 250sx but I still miss the sound of my yz125

    You should buy a 2 stroke pipe repair pump! Tool that pressurizes the pipe so it forms back into its original shape. Looks like you could make good use of it! :D
