- I won the auction for a junk receiver that is said to have good sound. The reception became possible with this repair. The indication of the frequency is probably the fault of the LSI. Thank you for this video. I just repaired my R 1000 when it’s 5 V regulator when intermittent. It would run fine for about five minutes and then overheat and shut off the 5 V, killing the receiver and the display. I also had bad solder joints on that voltage regulator, but reflowing them did not fix the problem. SoI replaced the 14305 IC and everything works great again. And it was a good idea to change that big capacitor as they tend to leak as they age. Good luck fixing the display, best wishes from the US.

Maybe someone will come in handy when repairing a Kenwood R-1000 or 600. Their schemes are very similar. The error was in setting up a 30 MHz and 40 MHz bandpass filter from a 10 MHz quartz oscillator. After setting them up, the correct readings immediately appeared on the digital scale of the receiver, the PLL system started working, namely, a voltage of 0.86 V and a frequency of 1 MHz appeared on the 3rd pin of the MC4044P, and 1.6 V appeared on outputs 5 and 10. All measurements were carried out using a frequency meter. Now the radio is receiving stations again, as before. And I'm glad of it.
It sounds really good, if you can find the appropriate LSI, it will be an excellent receiver as it was in its time. Congrats Mr. Tengu, take care, stay save my friend.

Thank you so much for this vid, I thought I was going to have to replace the counter IC but it turned out to be the 5v rail. My problem was a bad solder joint on a resistor on the AVR board.

Hello, my friend. Thank you for watching. This model seems to have many failures of this kind. Solder cracks are caused by heat generated from the power supply for 24 hour clock. Then, the frequency display LSI on top of the board is thermally destroyed. I have a chronic disease of this radio. I didn't know it until I bought it.73s Tengu🌈📻

Iv,e had a few of these over the years, and have jus tbought one off E,BAY for a very nice price!!!
for £106.00 inc postage ,I think I got the bargain of the year, as it,s near "mint"
after using it for a few hours, I was dismayed by the drifting v.f.o.?
after looking at the "stats," I found that other folk have had the same?
here,s my "cure" for this,
take off the bottom cover to expose the v.f.o. unit,
you will find that there are two peices of "silver tape" on the unit,
gently "peel them back" to expose the main trimming cap "with red paint on" and another trimming cap with no sealant on,
under the first silver tape you will see the main tuning cap,
with a very light oil, on a long thin plastic wand ,lubricate the front and rear bearings,sparingly!!
secondly , with the famous "servisol" spray, the main trimmer cap carefully with literally a drop of cleaner " red painted" and noting the position first, move it back and forth to clean it, and again with the other cap, noting the positions first,
when done ,re,assemble and don,t be upset that the vfo is still touchy put a small peice of "sellotape to keep the silver tape in position,
the next day when all of the servisol has evaporated, like mine , the vfo should be "rock solid,!!
I do not take any responsability for this action but it has always worked for me ,
my R1000 is like "new" again, just like the others I,ve owned, rock solid tuning of CW, and SSB,
good luck and be sparing with the cleaning fluid, don,t "flood it"!!

うーん、５Vが来ても蛍光管の表示までは治りませんでしたか…
蛍光管が光っているところが救いというか、罠というか、微妙な感じですね。

こんにちは。はい、とりあえず蛍光管は光ったのですが残念でした。この受信機はノイズが少なく、評判どおり音質がとても良いです。何とか表示を復活させたいですね。OM諸氏が罠にハマる理由が解ったような気がします。当時発売のトリオのFMチューナーの構成をいくつか調べたのですがやはり使って無さそうです。多分事業部が違ったのでしょうね。外付けの表示シフト付の周波数カウンターなら簡単に付きそうですが🌈📻
Someone wants to sell me a receiver. R 1000. Thd only thing it does is static on the headphones. Speaker does nothing and display marks reversed L on al lower digits. What could be thd problem? He wants 50 euro shipping included in price
