- This receiver cannot display frequencies. The cause is that the LSI part of the display circuit is out of order. And I cannot buy this LSI Oki MSM5524RS. Therefore, I transplanted a commercially available small frequency counter. See the link below for related videos.

The power supply for this replacement frequency counter was taken from the 12 V line (There is a limiting resistance.) of the pilot lamp power supply on the power supply circuit board on the lower side of the main body.

The sample rate of new counter is slow and doesn't keep up as well as the original, but it's a way to safe this old receiver.

@@basspig Hello. That's a problem. A 3-terminal regulator is placed under the LSI, but the heat treatment is not good. When the temperature rises, the LST goes out of control due to heat. I think that the symptom disappears when the air is blown from the lower left of the radio with a small air cooling fan to cool the 3-terminal regulator.
周波数カウンターのアイディア、いいですね！IFから信号が取れればまだまだ使えそうですね。R-1000ですがVFO方式なのでまだ直せば使えるとなればサブ受信機で欲しくなる。
こんばんは。ありがとうございます。出たところ勝負で何とかサマになりました。基本はアナログＶＦＯ機なのでPLLノイズが少なそうです。あとやはり音が良いです。これだけは他のラジオとは相当違います。不思議ですが内蔵スピーカーの方が音が良いです。

こんにちは、ご覧いただきありがとうございます。ステイホームのGW連休は四畳半の部屋で日々紋々としております。昨日から結構強烈なEsが出ているようです、これ唯一の救いですね。R-1000はオクで安かったので適当に入札したところ何とそのまま落札されました。でディスプレイの不治の病を後から知って相当焦りました。しかし噂どおり音が良いので何とかしたいとダメ元で交換作業しました。私は文系なので素人技の我流動画です。FRG-7も欲しいのですが流石にもう置けません。予約中のリグもそのうち来るので、いくつか処分を考えてます。
Can I ask as to have you a list of parts to be removed and how to wire the new display in place to work in the way shown in the video-the powers okay its just how do you get the data to it.

Hello. Thanks for the message. I won't know the cause of the failure unless I actually check the actual item. If the PLL is operating normally (if there is no display but normal reception), connect the PLL circuit to the input terminal of the new frequency counter via a 0.01μF ceramic capacitor, and then use the probe to find the PLL circuit. there is.
