    Super happy that you’re keeping the direct drive torch going. Not many premades use them anymore which is a giant shame. I don’t know why anyone even bothers with hub motors anymore vs direct.

      Reliability. I'd rather not have my weight resting directly on the motor bearings.

    They're about the same decibels but the high pitched whine of the belts is kind of annoying compared to the direct drive. I'd go DD (because I'm in Florida with no hills). Thanks for the video.

    I can’t wait to give the BC3 a go… I’m DD all the way… and although the belt drive is faster up a hill my BC2 DD still accelerated uphill faster than most so it’s incredible what you guys have done so far

    Belt drives trades simplicity for torque and speed. And torque times speed is also known as power, everybody wants power, no matter the cost.

    • @davidfaustino4476
      @davidfaustino4476 Год назад +2

      No. You either get more torque or more speed. You aren't making power out of literally nothing.

    Why no ceramic bearings on the Direct Drives? Surely this would greatly improve water resistance. Is this replaceable by the end user himself? You can say, don't ride in the rain but road surfaces can also be moisty from previous rain and there is also the occasional puddle of water you can't avoid.

    I wonder if the ESC on these boards gives the same ampere on both boards? Why would the beltdriven board be more powerful then? I have one beltdriven board with an ESC that gives 30A to each motor, and then I have another board (DIY) with 2nd Gen Meepo hubmotors and each hubmotor gets 40A of current from the ESC, I can tell you that the DIY board with hubmotors are way more powerfull then the beltdriven board (Both boards runs on 12S battery). Thats why I wonder if the motors on the boards in this test really get the same power from their ESCs..

    It doesnt make Sense. Normally hubmotors should be more quiet

    • @ONSRA
      @ONSRA  2 года назад

      The sound is different but when someone drives by it’s just about the same pretty much

    • @LIVITLUVIT
      @LIVITLUVIT 2 года назад

      Not hubs ..direct drive and they are a lot more quiet ...the main noise was because they tested it going too fast ...a normal skateboard with no motor would be loud going that fast as well ..maybe louder because the wheels ...belts are A LOT LOUDER

    • @MusicByproduct
      @MusicByproduct Год назад

      When you're riding you practically can't hear the direct drive motors at all. Only the wheels (so noise depends on wheels and road surface).
      Belt and gear drives have a high-pitched whine that is not very loud but it is very noticeable.
      That's why decibels don't tell the whole story. Subjectively it's a big difference, noisy belt vs quiet DD.
