For those that attempt to do this, before buying an alarm system; make sure that you know that you will need a bypass (if your car has a chip to start). You will need three things in that case, the programmer module (1) that connects to the bypass(2) and the alarm system(3). The programmer module will help set-up the bypass correctly for your car. Also remember that you may get lucky and have an install for the D2D (Data to Data) which requires a lot less wiring. You will only need a couple main ones, three to the ignition switch (for bypass purposes) and the 12v as well as accessories and the horn of course. Not really much, also ensure to always check polarity and ground the alarm (black wire to chassis as he showed on the video). I successfully installed an alarm system on my Honda Accord 2008 EX-L using Viper 5706v, XPress Kit DBALL2 & XKLoader (programmer).
My Recommended car security system amzn.to/3i5hJ5R this system has an lcd and is 2 way meaning you will be able to see in the lcd if you locked your doors just incase if you forgot you did also it will alert you if someone has entered your vehicle while armed thank you for your support
Great video!!! I finally found somebody that can explain and a simple and understanding terms. I really appreciate very much your time to explain everything, please keep making them. I'm working on my truck 2004 ford diesel installing a viper 5305 system now I know how to do it, thank you
As a former professional installer I would definitely recommend T-Taps over solder, as long as they are made by 3M (the generic ones are junk). T-Taps are easier, look nicer, save time, and since there is no tape you don't end up with a gooey mess over time like you do with taped solder joints. Also, solder can become brittle over time. I used literally THOUSANDS of T-Taps as an installer and never had 1 fail as long as I heard the "click".
You should never use T-taps EVER!!! I have installed hundreds and fixed more remote starts because connections using T-taps do not hold up over time, remote start connections should be soldered, especially data connections. ASE-A6 & MECP Advanced certified

Soldering isn't recommended anymore for vehicles, using butt connectors or similar is recommended because overtime the vibrations in the wires can cause hardening and lead to cracking of the solder joints.
Hey, I'm no engineer but I'm trying to wire up an alarm with lock actuators and want to add internal lock switches as well. I developed a wire diagram that looks like it works to me, but I need someone to look at it, that understands all this. Can I send it to you??? Thanks!
Great video. Although the factory door sensors located in the door jam seems like a bad system. A thief could shim those and the alarm would not go off.
Jose I'm installing an Easyguard EC200-K9 alarm remote start system on a 2002 silverado LS 1500. How and where do you connect the starter detection wire onto the vehicle wire harness? How and where did you connect to dis-arm the Passlock2 vehicle alarm system when activating the remote start? or does it need a bypass module? You help will be greatly appreciated. If you can help me finish installing this alarm unit, I will be glad to pay a fee for your support.
I purchased an Easyguard EC200-K9 alarm and remote start system for 2002 Silverado with a Passlock 2 VATS. Can you recommend a bypass module this for this situation?
Awesome video! Not too long but still very detailed! I think I'm going to purchase that alarm and give it a shot! But first, do you have a "tech sheet" for my car? It's a 2002 Acura TL Type-S. Where do you get tech sheets from anyway?
i have a viper 3105v alaram system. i just added aftermarket power door locks.i have a two wire hookup for the door locks.my question is how do i wire my alarm up to my new aftermarket door locks,to lock and unlock my doors?
I have got a car alarm that has two wires, one for a "close electrical safety" and the other one "open electrical safety", would you happen to know where these wires would attach too? Thank you, Ken
That's a great idea, they will never be able find it there. Just going to have to lengthen the wires. That's going to be a headache but it should be worth it. I suggest a back up battery next to the alarm brain since you have the room
I'm installing a viper 5904V alarm on a 1991 dodge dynasty, i have power windows and locks no trunk pop. I'm planning on doing alarm, keyless entry, and remote start. If you could let me know if i need any relays i'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
My 1998 Tacoma has black/white wire door trigger and when I open the door it’s reading negative and when I close the door still negative,my question if I got the right door trigger wire?
Hello, I have a Daihatsu Charade and it doesn't have door triggers on a couple of doors. Is there a way to install a door trigger on those doors for installing the alarm properly?
I have a 2006 yukon xl slt with about a 5 year old prestige alarm and remote start that used to be in a 2006 town and country lx I was told it needs to be released to be able to work in the yukon is this true or should I be able to just connect it and work plus I haven't been able to find the wiring colors for the truck any help is greatly appreciated
Hey if my aftermarket central locking is + & - and my aftermarket alarm system is - & - will the alarm's central locking system work? Dunno how to explain this in better way.
Well I was going to watch this but then at 0:47 you said that we need "t taps"....... those are one of the worst ways to splice a wire into a system you might as well twist the wires together and wrap some tape around it and call it a day........
i have a question, my 2011 dodge ram didn't come with a keyfob, So I bought one and it got programmed, but the lock and the unlock buttons don't lock it or unlocked, it can only lock manually, do you have any idea what's wrong with it
I installed my car alarm but I wasn't sure about one wire in particular... so I didn't connect it. it's a white wire that comes with all the power wires.... it says in the diagram negative trigger.... but couldn't find a negative wire that comes from the ignition switch... the problem is that when I turn off the car the door locks unlock the doors but when I lock them with the remote they didn't lock. I have to unlock them first with the remote and then I can lock them with the remote.... it happens all the time. any ideas?
Hello; Another question, excuse me, I want to install a shock sensor in my 2010 malibu chevrolet and I want to connect it directly to the alarm but I can not find where the Main Control Unit is located on the control panel, could you help me? Thank you
I'm going to be installing a viper 5204 with remote, power windows, and keyless entry in a 1980 Corvette could you tell me if I'm going to need any relays.
I going to assume you don't have a remote trunk open, like when you hold the button and the truck pops open. So you will not need a relay for that unless you plan to add trunk pop, then you will need one relay for that. Does your vehicle have electric doors? If you are adding door lock actuators you will need 2 relays for that, door lock actuators let you unlock the door like power door locks. If your vehicle already has power door locks check to see if your alarm has reversible door locks outputs. If you have power door locks I belive your vehicle has positive door lock triggers if it has negative door lock triggers and your alarm does not have reversible door lock outputs you will need 2 relays for that. I've only done power windows twice and I didn't need relays. But I would look at the instructions for them and see about that. Hopefully this helps you out
What did you want to know about remote start? Are you wondering about the relays in remote starts? All of the outputs on remote start have built in relays to turn on ac/heater and such. Remote starts are a huge install. The install manual for Viper are usally very well detailed
man just by listening to the 1st min of the vid i realized that it isnt as easy as i thought it would be to install a viper car alarm system into my toyota4runner considering i dont have more than half of those tools and things he mentioned i should might as well pay 70 bucks for someone professional to do it.. lol

I have Viper 5704 that it was going to go on my 93 nissan 300zx but decided to get a newer version and install that one on my 99 nissan frontier xe 4cyl 5 speed rwd... where can i find the data sheet ?
okay so I have a question, the previous owner did a lot of damage to the harness on my vehicle, because of this I've had to fix a lot of the wiring, the car is older and what each wire does should be pretty apparent but many of the wires run different than the factory location, do you think this would cause problems for the installer? Mainly the wires I am referring to are in the ignition switch as well as the electronic trunk release. It seems like easy to me but I am the one who corrected all the electrical problems. Do you have any experience dealing with bad wire jobs?
Thanks bro for the great tutorial, I have noseblade with my innova 2014 G m/t, central lock & unlock is working with remote key, but the problem is no sound for lock & unlock doors,I read manual book on how to activate the sound but fail, can you share some advice on how to do, I bought a separate siren for the sound but don't know if still need a module for the said siren or only relay pls. advise thanks...
I have an avital 3300 l i just hooked it up car will start when alarm is armed and goibn off, is this becaue my yellow igniton wire popped out of harness, in theory the car should start righ
Car alarms need to know where they are in the vehicles starting system operation. The ignition wire is very important to tell the alarm when it it armed and also other functions. If your ignition wire is falling out I would replace the harnesss
You were installing in a chevy truck. I'm looking at installing an alarm in my truck. Its a 2000 silverado. The output for the locks of the aftermarket alarm are negative but the power lock and unlock are positive do I need to add relays to convert the outputs to positive? I'm installing a simple alarm and not a remote start unit.
Max Lezama sometimes the alarm will have a option or jumpers to switch from negative to positive outputs but if it doesent you will need to use relays to convert. Or return the unit you have and look for an alarm that has positive outputs or changeable outputs
Yes you can. Although when you install the new alarm you have to use the factory alarm disarm wire on the new alarm and tag it to your vehicles factory alarm disarm wire. Your New alarm might not have a so called disarm wire so just use a wire from the new alarm that sends a pulse negative or positive depending on what the factory alarm disarm wire needs to the factory disarm wire when you unarm your vehicle
I know this video is old but im out of option here lol. I have a AutoMate older style im not sure exactly which one. But the alarm system still works and makes the noises when i lock and unlock the truck but the actual locking mechanism does nothing and stays locked/unlocked. I pulled my dash and everything off but i have no idea what half those wires mean. please help ! thank you
They have options that make installing a little easier, but nothing plug and play. I wish it was that simple. Flash logic has some modules that make install easier.

Hi, what is "Sodder". I read it is called "Solder", it is printed on the iron and the solder reel.
It is solder
