Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are known as some of the HARDEST games in the franchise! Can I actually beat them using only Electric Pokemon? Hopefully my starter Pikachu can pull through.
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. If your Pokemon faints it must be released
2. I can only catch the first Electric Type Pokémon on each Route
3. I must nickname my Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items are fine)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4's highest level Pokemon (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

I would say you can make trade evos possible because monoruns are hard by itself and I would like to see a ground mono run in ultra sun

I agree let impossible evos possible I get people limit themselves to make it harder or easier with eviolite but I say go for it. Also some monotype runs are limited unless you evolve certain Pokémon that turn into the type needed.
Amazing run as well as amazing dad jokes. You can do a naming theme revolving around dad jokes or dad things like (grill, sock Sandals, pun master) or just say a dad joke after each catch revolving around the type.
Example:
Water: water you waiting for
Electric: this was a shocking encounter
Fire: this will add some heat to the team
Etc. the dad jokes are strong with you and now that you are a dad you have reached another level beyond just the mightiest of dad’s super Saiyan dad!

Finally somebody realizes that Pichu can be caught on the first routes! I know it's rare, but I found one on like my 1st or 2nd encounter, I don't know what it was but it was on the second spot in my party, even though I remember it being my 2nd encounter. I was so surprised when I found one, that early too! P.S, she's still on my Ultra moon playthrough. She's now a beautiful Raichu and probably my favorite team member.
I don’t mind trade evos for monotype runs! I do like getting to see Pokémon who normally get left out because of that rule!

Favorite electric type has to be Ampharos. I think the whole line is absolutely adorable, and I always made sure to catch one in my original Silver runs. Runner ups include Electivire, Lanturn, Togedemaru, Heliolisk and Eelektross
I would say definitely allow trade evos like this. Especially when you're already limited to a certain type of mon, not being able to fully access a full evolution line just feels like being kicked when you're already down. Plus, as already mentioned i love Electivire, so I'll 100% advocate for it
It's hilariously absurd how I saw Cobb, thought "That sounds like a name I've heard in a live-action movie", saw Mal, thought "Ah, like the dead lady in that Nolan movie", saw Ariadne, thought "That's a random name for an Oricorio. But I'll shrug it off because this is the cutest Ariadne I've seen since Elliot Page", and yet it wasn't until you asked again about the naming convention at the 30 min mark that I realized you were referencing Inception the whole time. 🤣 My brain's a bit on fritz today, it seems.

GG, the Endeavor Quick attack on Ultra Necrozma was a semi clean strategy. If only Togedamaru had Quick Attacks it would've been squeaky clean

I know I'm late, but I absolutely support trade evos being possible. I see these challenges as a showcase of the Pokemons, the strategies, etc and not so much the "game", since the game is not really ment to be played like this from the creators anyways. I'm ok with this kind of modding since it makes it more fun and entertaining
as far as allowing certain things like trade evolutions for example, or megas (like in the oras run) it’s your run! you’re the one playing the game and honestly i’m just watching for a good time (like most viewers) congrats on the baby btw!! hope happiness comes your way :)
Trade evos would be AWESOME for future videos it would be a great opportunity to use a lot of great Pokémon that we don’t normally get to see in a normal run 🙏🏼

I would always put "Change Impossible Evolutions" into any challenge. It just sucks to have a non-evolved Pokémon that still could evolve.
I watch a lot of solo type Pokemon nuzlockes but yours was BY FAR the best. And hope you have a good time being a parent

I think my favorite electric type is Luxray. I just really wish it was faster and that there was better physical electric moves. I also really like Vikavolt, but every time I try to use it it gets out sped by everything and KO’d in one hit.
I like the endeavor strat it made an almost impossible situation easy due to good planning. Something every nuzlocker needs

Favorite electric type is Electivire for sure. I get away with Zapdos being my favorite Flying type.
This run starts with Pichu so I'm interested to see how the first few fights go.
No matter what changes you make to the rules, I don’t care. I would rather see a successful run than a run with no victorious outcome.
It took me a minute but totally dig the inception name theme. I also think allowing trade evolutions makes the whole thing more interesting

The movie is Inception cuz that is my favorite Nolan movie, and let impossible evos possible. Mono runs are hard enough as is and you go the extra mile to make it a hardcore. So yeah its cool. A fairy run in sun would be awesome. Also congrats my man.

(I know it’s not technically FEAR strats but it’s the same idea)
In my original run (not a nuzlocke) of the game, I had to sucker punch using decidueye and sack my other pkm to revive and repeat... So I don't judge... It was hell and there is no way to beat it without cheesy strats or overlevelling (my decidueye was lv 65 because I'm the kind of person that never takes off exp share and I'm way to sentimental to ever box my starter unless I have to like in a nuzlocke death scenario)
My favorite Electric type is Raichu; especially Alolan Raichu! Every time I start up an Alolan game, I always spend a few minutes in the Grass patches near Iki Town trying to find a Pichu! But downside, Friendship evolution takes forever!
Electrifying return Vivid! I'm gonna be basic and say my favorite Electric Type is Pikachu, it's the mascot for a reason. I think Cobal definitely deserves MVP status for taking care of Kommo-o and Ultra-Necrozma.

The Ultra Necrozma fight was incredibly easy for me... I had a Zoroark and, as you may or may not know, it has the ability illusion which disguises Zoroark to look like your last party member. I was smart and made Zoroark look like a Kommo-o so Necrozma just spammed photon geyser and took absolutely no damage at all despite being under leveled.

Pretty sure you can use zorarak’s disguise ability to look like a poison or fighting type and chip away with your z move and a high power dark type attack with max special attack EV’s or Physical if you built it like that. You could also invest into its hp stat and use night shade if it learns that Ike never really tried these strategies. I really don’t care what cheese you use I like seeing how any ways you can cheese something also keep up the good videos
The fact that I feel like you always have to cheese necrozma at the end with this ruleset, I do not blame you. But congrats on a wolderful video and the new child.
Just got around to the Ultra Moon a couple of weeks ago and yea....wasn’t expecting some of this difficulty, but I loved it. Mostly, even though I had to toxic stall 3 of the totem mons after losing to them once or twice first lol oh and my favorite Electric type is Kantonian Raichu, also in my top 5 favorites in general thanks to Lt. Surge’s in the anime as a kid

just for clarity, spiky shield prics on all contact moves, not just physical, so moves like draining kiss, trump card, and petal dance will proc spikey shields effect of dealing the damage

My favorite way I took down ultra necrosma involved a Mimiku and Malamar. Not in a nuzlocke though. First, I had let’s snuggle forever. I used it and brought U.N. to low yellow. But I fainted afterwards. Then I sent in my slower Malamar. But it could tank a hit. It took a hit and then ate a berry to double attack. And then used foul play.

Just before you went into the fire trial I thought to myself "this battle alone is reason enough that I did an electric montype RUN instead of a nuzlocke, I wonder how he will overcome this". Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand then you didn't.
So cool you used Lanturn. It's one of my favorite Pokemon and it seems to me every hardcore nuzlocker completly ignores it in water only runs and I don't get why. But I'm no hardcore nuzelocker. And I totally think "impossible" evolutions should be possible. I hate them beeing impossible when just playing for fun and there are so many cool Pokemon that wouldn't be used in those runs. (Also Jolteon is probably tied with Vaporeon when it comes to my favorite Eeveelotiun (AFTER Espeon of course) but my favorite electrice type has to be Lanturn)
Finally someone evolves their electabuzz !! Electivre is my favorite Pokémon

My personal rules for trade evos is simple. Instead of a regular dupes clause, if my encounter is a duplicate of a trade evo, I can catch the second one and release it to effectively be a token to evolve the original one.
