Aloha, Butch! 😃 I love Kihei, Maui, Hawaii & visited a few years back, a beautiful place 🏝️ … I sunburned so badly the 1st day there; their “Burn To Brown Formula” is da bomb and helped save the rest of vacation!
Merry Christmas!🎄from Oklahoma & Wyoming 🇺🇸😻
My name is Iris Fitzjohn and I sawHot Chocolate at Bletchley Leisure Centre in 1983. Hi Butch.
Omg I remember this song released in '78 I was 15, just started high school, that September. This song was playing in the background on our little radio.. out by the pool, late July, and my sister was dancing to it, as I was dancing in the shallow end mimicking my sister's dance moves... Since then I head this song like 3 million times lol and love it every time I hear it, as it brings me back to that day, when life was so much easier, thank you, Hot Chocolate!!!
I first heard lle same song around le same time. I asked a friend, whos that man on tv singing "What if there waz no Heavan" Then some 1 walked and shot him. He's still my best mate , & i don't even know what hiz name is.
Same here!
She shouldve invited some of her girl friends over,

Have to agree. I love this song and I'm 29 but I was exposed to this music in 1993 I was born in 1992.
Heard this on Detroit Rock City...Love it!
Privileged to have seen my favourite band before and after Errolls death. A Childs prayer tops my list.

Not Errol Brown.
Deeeeezzzzz
I have it on repeat right now lol and I also think Errol Brown was freaking hot
@@alc4ever24 no comment
@garymaidman625 I read that he was originally from Jamaica. I dated a Jamaican entertainer back in my early 20's---also hot 😂 so a little nostalgia there. side note; I'm into disco, and Jamaicans ruled the disco scene. Boney M (Liz Mitchell and marcia barrett), and Precious Wilson, just to name a few!!!
If you’re here you’re a winner
Thanks, man!

OF COURSE...I AM A WINNER TOO..
I never get tired of this classic. I’m very fortunate to have grown up listening to 70’s music!

Growing up in Dublin in the 70,s this song was huge as the youth club disco ! Great days !!☘️

😊
The production was top-notch. The baseline, unique guitar riff, the synth, and the attitude of the vocalist. It all just works.
"unique guitar riff" This!!! Maybe Last Train To London took some inspiration from this sound?

Oh this brings back stop me in my tracks memories when discos and dance clubs were soo amazing. I was only 15 in 1978 15 but used my friends older sister’s ID and got in no problem-
I grew up in Tennessee, so our drivers license were absolutely a joke literally until about the late 80s no photograph just green paper license with height, weight and address and birthday. All you had to do was memorize and if you were the same height and weight had the same hair, color, eye, color, etc. and flirtatious and sweet to the guy at the door checking IDs you were good to go.
One of the best.
Can we all just spend a moment to acknowledge that BASS tone. Oooft
That dude is digging a ditch with that groove.
And the instrument that sounds like a fuzzed up guitar... I imagine that's an early synth?
Orgasmic guitar.... ❤Love it.... ❤

Had the privilege is seeing Hot Chocolate live twice at the Odeon Taunton 77,78.
Those were the best days.
Those were the days my friend
They were the best of days. Today in 2023-24 Hot chocolate has decided to get together as a group and go on tour again. But since they have gotten older and slower since their best of days, they decided also to go with a younger lead singer. With the passing years they also decided to change the name of their group Hot Chocolate. They are now called Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows for their audience.
too bad the young folks of today weren't exposed to music like this with the funky groove, a little synthesizer, great rhythm guitar and thise riffs, soulful lead singer...AND...those backup singers!?!? A timeless composition for sure.
young folks are "exposed" to such music. and some really appreciate it. just think of old folks in the 70s comparing Hot Chocolate to 20s Jazz. that's what you're doing.
Yes Sir.
Exposure to other generations of music is nowadays probably more atttainable and easier than ever! It depends on the individual, if there is even an interest for music in general. These songs might be 70s but these are timeless hits, I'm not worried at all that these hits will be soon forgotten, they won't for a long time.
@@ichbinich1775 Very true. Music (at least to some extent) influences everyone's life and their resulting memories; which I failed to get across in the original post. I'm just glad I was discovering girls when this song was played over the airwaves as opposed to the thug rap or whatever computer generated crap they call it today.
@@jrhalli2
Indeed! Sound (and even the intention behind words) has a vibrational influence: ruclips.net/video/1qQUFvufXp4/видео.html
The thug stuff of lately is meant to degenerate folks. It has no uplifting qualities, it's indeed problematic. It shapes its listeners in a negative way. ☹️
That riff melts my face every time
That is why he is the one and only Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows.
Have you heard Ty Segall's cover!!? Haha, that will melt whats left of your face...Super good! He knew a good riff when he heard it too...

Was the best time to be young.
Me!
Born in 1990, but listening to bands like Hot Chocolate makes me think how much I must have missed out on great music at that time, what a voice.
As someone born in 1988, I'm glad all this music was already in the world when I entered into it.
Nice to hear you like it! I was born in '65, 58yo now. If we had a cool school bus driver they would let us listen to the radio. Sometimes they would even tune it to the station we wanted to listen to. If we got too loud and boisterous they usually turned it off because it distracted them while they drove. Back then am radio stations were extremely popular, now you hardly know they still broadcast.
There was so much good music coming out back then; I mean the various genres- disco, rock, folk pop rock, country rock, early heavy metal....it's hard to describe because styles over lapped quite a bit. I feel very fortunate growing up when I did with the music we had. Society was different in some ways of course. But, the more things change the more they stay the same. That's from a song called "circumstances" by the band Rush, 1978.
Have a good time listening to music you love and try to share it with friends when you get together. Create memories while you can, time goes by so fast, so fast. G.W.
I was born in 1985 & I hear u brother. The older u get & the more cool old music u hear & get introduced to the worse it gets. I mean the more u wish u where born in the 60s. But like many have already said, I'm so grateful to be around on this earth in the same blip of time to of listen to this stuff
